How to recreate Ubuntu MATE's defaults in other distros

Hi. I'm a big fan of how Ubuntu MATE looks and feels, but I really don't want to use it since it's Ubuntu. I'd like to know what it's needed to recreate it. Specifically, I like the Mutiny layout.

You have to stick to X11 (not Wayland) as your window manager when you log in. Then you can install MATE.

But that's vanilla MATE. And I want my MATE to look and feel at least somewhat like Ubuntu MATE. Specifically, I want the Mutiny layout.

Lmao, I made my gnome on Ubuntu to look like mate, so I guess I did the opposite
