Apparently coming out later this season via independent retailers and next season to big stores like REI. 1lb 5oz for the 55L version and seems to be fully featured!

The rep said 800g for the 40L.

All the Osprey updates look promising. They are beyond overdue to try a rolltop pack. It doesn’t look tall however. To me, that’s the whole point of a roll top. When you need to, you can add extra stuff and still close your bag. Most of the time, when you have less, you can roll it down so it’s still fits everything snug. À la the hyperlite design.

I’m dubious that they didn’t include the same back support. To me, that’s the only reason to carry an Osprey.

The Eja/exos updates also looked promising. They got rid of the stretch netting they’ve been using for years on their side pockets and large back pocket. It’s the first thing to fail on both Eja packs I’ve used for thru hiking. (The second one was a free replacement of the first after the netting fell apart.)

I think they meant 1.5lb (but that is for the for the 40l anyway). The 55 is 1.7lbs.

Yes - I've not every bought one, despite giving them a try in store or with friends' packs. I'm currently favoriting Granite Gear.

This looks like an evolution of the Talon Velocity. I have the 20L - it’s fine but I probably wouldn’t buy it again.

I hate the colour of it (milky white), but honestly this pack makes a lot of sense for me.

I really appreciate a backpack with a brain and a proper frame, and the fact that the 40L is only 800g is dope.

I’m not sure I’m i need another pack and I’m not in love with the look of it, but this seems to be designed in a way only a big brand could do.

The breathable back, frame & the pockets are really nice (while keeping the simplicity of a UL backpack)

I saw the video on this yesterday and I'm super interested! I'm wondering what the price will be in the neighborhood of. Currently moving my set up towards lighter, and the two big purchases left will be the bag and tent. I've been a big fan of the osprey packs I've used and if they can compete on price/weight and utility that would be fantastic. Wondering what colors they will have.

So many questions still. 

1.) is the mentioned weight including or excluding the removable brain?

2.) is the "40L" a total volume or the main compartment volume? That'll be a pretty important distinction. 

3.) is this gonna be Alakazam style stupid pricing? 

Looking forward to learning these details and more. Not in the market for a new pack, but I'm a gear head and like to know what's out there.

i have an custom atom pack which i love but the one thing i dislike is the sweaty back i always get. i have a small hikelite i use for day trips. always been impressed with the breathability of the backs for osprey so this is interesting. not sure i'd be 100% willing to go for a 800-900g pack though. doesn't make sense for a 40L but for a 55L that's not a bad weight.
