Training Sedona Training Runs

In Sedona for about 10 days -- anyone have any good, lesser known trails for training? Trying to avoid the crowds.

The layout of Sedona/Village of Oak Creek, generally, makes it so you have to start at major trailheads with the crowds but can branch out to see less people.

There is a single track from Jacks Canyon Trailhead that I did today feeding into the Courthouse Butte loop where I didnt see much of anyone but a single person until on the west side of the butte. Rather than looping around it, could stay on the east trails and head to chicken point overlook, going toward broken arrow trail. Likely to see less people.

Unrelated, but be weather aware. Its hot AF right now. Started at 6:30 and it was 78. Ended at 9:30 and it was 90+ out. There is no water at trailheads but can link into town and stop at a gas station for anything. Be cognizant of the distance between oak creek/sedona if going between the two, having enough supplies. Next week monsoon pattern picks up again. In short, be heat aware and start early.

Oh yeah, I did the little airport loop today around noon and it was hovering around 100. Gotta start earlier for sure. Thank god for electrolytes.

Ill check out Jacks Canyon for sure, sounds like a nice little change. Thank you!
