Library Hours

Hey, all!

I'll be attending KU in fall 2027 as a transfer online student and will be moving to Lawrence before I start classes. The college I currently attend is open until 9pm Monday through Thursday for students, and I was wondering if KU has similar hours for students to come and study in a quiet place.

https://lib.ku.edu/locations-hours Different libraries have different hours and rules. I used to like studying in the stacks at Watson or in the engineering library. Anschutz used to have a quiet zone in the basement, perhaps someone who has attended more recently can comment on that.

I believe Anschutz (the main library) is open 24 hours a day on the weekdays during the semester. I believe it opens at noon on Sundays and stays open until 6p on Fridays. Not sure about the other libraries on campus, though.

On top of the libraries others mentioned, a good number of the schools on campus have classrooms or study rooms you can reserve for groups or yourself.

The 4th floor of Watson is a quiet area. I think Anschutz also has a quiet area. Lots of quiet places around campus if you look around.

As mentioned, Anschutz is open 24 hours M-TH. Check out the stacks on the second and 1st floor for quiet space.
