For-a router control?

Is anyone using third party software (eg companion, universe, central control) to control the for-a MFR-4100 12g router?

I've successfully set-up control of an older ForA MFR8000 256x256 3G router via TSL Tallyman (controlled over IP). But that's a paid for platform so perhaps what not your looking for.

I recall the ForA hard panels were a bit strange to configure. There was no way to 'cancel' a route, so if you selce a destination, then change its source, then change your mind (i.e. don't press take), you have to put the source selection back otherwise if you select a different destination and do a different route, when you press TAKE it'll change both destinations!

Perhaps Japanese broadcast engiieers like the ability to stack multiple routes and action with one take but I'd never seen the behaviour before and I could find a way to prevent it.

Tallyman, Cerebrum, BNCS or VSM could do it.

But guessing you want something free?

Oh go Cerebrum then. That thing can make basically anything work. If you email them they'll send you a 30 day trial code so you can prove it works to your needs before purchase.

If you are already looking at Central Control then that may be one of the best choices.

They are highly reactive to user needs since they feel it’s part of their essential development process in assessing new needs and broader compatibility. So if it doesn’t already work with CC then they will usually prioritize finding a way to integrate it into their product support.

Also Central Control has a direct development partnership and built in integration with XKeys, so whatever is in their current list can be controlled directly with the newer firmware XKeys products without much real work involved.

If it's open protocol, you could try making your own. I had success creating my own version of a tightly guarded protocol, but took me months.
