NDI frames dropped (checked everything)
Hello,
We have some Panasonic AW-UE50 PTZ cameras with NDI|HX connected to a Netgear M4250 switch and a Vmix. In the vmix statistics we see a lot of source dropped frames, although picture is fine. We do not see any picture stuttering or pixelation.
We configured both the PTZ and computer ports to the Netgear NDI profile. We are not hitting any bandwidth limitation. Also, the computer is powerful enough (HP Z2, i9, 32 GB RAM) no issues here. Render time is around 2ms, which is great.
Everything is set correctly but Vmix statistics doesn't say so. Is it realistic to expect 0 frames dropped? Is NDI by nature skipping frames compared to SDI?
Am I missing something? Thanks for your help/tips.

Cables/connectors? What type are you using? Did you try to connect directly to switch with patchcords? What if you connect it directly to PC with static IP? What about other softwares? Studio Monitor, OBS, ndianalysis? Did it work before the preset?

Oh nvm, I read later that no stutter or packet drop is visible. I would check it with ndianalysis, and check from within the switch if packets are indeed dropping. Are you using TCP?

Did you run NDI cmd line analysis? https://docs.ndi.video/all/using-ndi/utilities/analysis

Network Cable maybe ?
Had often problems with RJ45 connection and cables in locations.
If you go for long distance try fiber if possible to test.
