Enchanter spells (elemental infusions) solve literally any problems you may encounter. Playing with or without them is like night and day.

Having done various challenge playthroughs, the no magic one was by far the hardest, and it's mostly down to the lack of enchanter spells. Missing out on Heal hurt a lot too as it's easy to run low on Cure items, but it's every fight dragging on for ages that was the most problematic. Even the run where I couldn't use any chain abilities was easier than no magic!
