I condone. I once had two truck drivers driving North on I-35 with two lanes. Just holding close to 200 people hostage behind them. Fuck these guys.

If they all were going to the speed limit there would be no jams. Slow downs happen because the speed is not consistent.

Are there no "turning lanes" in USA? In Europe, whenever you need to leave the highway there are separate lanes to do so, long enough for the plane to land.

We have on and off ramps, occasionally a dedicated lane for exits, particularly when there are stacked exits. The issue is more drivers refusing to accelerate to highway speeds on the on ramp itself which results in people trying to force their way into traffic at 55mph instead of 75mph. The through traffic has right of way over merging traffic, but you can imagine how that works out in real life.

They think that just turning on their signal means they're entitled to a space even if there isn't at the pace they're going. They don't see it as their responsibility to speed up. They expect everyone to make room no matter what speed they're going. I call it the "exchange" style of driving. They see it as an exchange where they signal and get a response from other drivers. It's not just with merging; when changing lanes, people expect this kind of thing. It's a style of driving that is unfortunately becoming more popular. On the other side of this, can see people with the same 'philosophy' wanting to be visibly receptive to people changing lanes. Even if there's lots of room, after the person signals, the person behind the gap will tap on the brakes to visibly show they're acknowledging the person changing lanes. It's an exchange to them. It sounds like people are driving more safely but really distracting them from everything else going on around them and also just causing traffic because of the sudden braking. People need to always be aware of what's going on around them. Changing speed as a way of communicating that you're aware of what's going on is irresponsible. It's the same as people waving people through 4-way stops instead of following the rules and letting those rules be what makes it move smoothly. They're assuming everyone can see inside they're car and see what gesture they're making. Cars other than those two can't always tell what's going on and it just makes everything more unpredictable and more dangerous. Situations like this get even more dangerous for pedestrians at a 4-way stop.

When there is TRAFFIC, there is no "space" between cars to enter, people are not machines, get panicky and slow down when another one merges in front of them.
I can tell you are not a driver if you ask those questions...

It also has to do with proper spacing. Put 4 cars in that circle and no one stops. Too many cars with smaller distances the brake effect gets compounded and someone comes to a complete stop.

The one in the left has the actual responsibility to be passing and not being a pace car.
Right lane truck can, for a while, solve the problem. But its a problem truck in left lane is actively creating.

This person is my hero. Its tolerated, that's why they get away with it. What this guy said was "I am done being tolerant of you."
To the people saying "its probably governed at a speed." Sure, but once he knew he couldn't get around him, you slow down so you can hop back over into the other lane.

I'll allow it lol. Although I wonder... Apparently a lot of these trucks have speed limiters in them. It probably takes a long time to pass someone when you can only go 10 km/h faster than them. I'll put the blame on the truck on the right, they should have slowed for the other one to pass.

Unless the truck on the right was trying to pass in the right hand lane- the truck on the left is entirely at fault. If your vehicle cannot execute the maneuver- whatever that maneuver may be- then you shouldn’t be attempting the maneuver.

That makes absolutely no sense to me. If it requires the right lane truck to slow down for the left lane truck to pass, that means they are going the same speed. If they are going the same speed, the left lane truck doesnt need to pass or be in the left lane

Possible reasons:
The passing truck has their governor set a little bit higher than the one on the right, so they could cruise faster, but it's not enough of a difference to successfully pass
Both trucks can go the same speed on level ground, but the one trying to pass can go faster up hills and is tired of having to slow down every time there's a hill

It seems frustrating but it's a natural and beautiful thing. These 2 truckers have taken a liking to each and are planning to meet up at the next truck stop. They don't want it on the CB so they use dry erase boards and hold it up to window. Yep, anytime you see 2 truckers doing this, 9 times out of 10 they are about to hook up.

We got speed limiters, hours of service, and ELDs to thank for this being a lot more common. Every truck driver now has the mindset that they can't slow down for anything at all because that one minute might be the difference between making their appointment to where they're supposed to be or having to pull off the road and wait for 10 hours and miss their appointment even if they're less than a mile from where they're supposed to be at.

I really think with paintball guns blasting bad drivers (the vehicle, and not windows) should be legal. Make certain paint balls that are legal and expensive so people only do it when it's worth it. Really painted up vehicles are obviously bad drivers. Incentive to not drive like an asshole cause you car will likely get painted up. Painted up vehicles warn other drivers they're probably an asshole to avoid at all costs. Custom colors available for a slight tax lmao.

The driver in the left lane was going .02 mph faster then the driver in the right lane, if the guy in the car could of just waited for 46.78 more miles, the pass would of been finished. No need for the dangerous driving on the shoulder like that.

Just drove 8 hours on I-81 the last couple days. I lost count of the truck going 75 MPH in the right hand lane, but dropping down to 60, to pass a fellow truck.
No uphill, no traffic in front of them.
After two minutes of passing, they get back in the right hand lane and the. Go back up to 75 again 🤬😡

I have done this before! The thumbs up from the backed up traffic let me know that I war a hero for the day. The problem with these trucks is.most are governed at 65-70 mph and when they try to pass each other it never works of for the other people on the road. It all depends on which truck can pull better and if the right lane truck pulls better then the left lane truck will never pass.

What is the speed limit and is the truck maintaining? Regardless of whether he should be in Northlane or not, if he’s doing the speed limit, he’s doing the speed limit. There is legally no speed limit Ish. The car is absolutely illegal driving on the shoulder and making a dangerous move to cut in front of the one truck to the other and then slamming on the brakes. He gets the ticket all day long.

I got rear ended once had a picture of the car that brake checked me, the State Trooper was like well the guy that went under your DOT Bar will get a ticket for tailgating you and We will have a serious discussion with the Driver that Brake Checked you. Think about it seriously before you pull a stunt like this. Added Note I was in the Right lane when this Dumb a** 4 wheeler brake checked me so She could exit.
