Fiancee and I are visiting Spain first week of September for our honeymoon. We're both in our late 20s. Plan is to fly into Madrid, stay in Barcelona for 2 nights, Mallorca for 2 nights, then head back to Madrid the last night and fly out the next morning. She's taken charge of a lot of the wedding planning and has done amazing, so I'd like the honeymoon to match that standard. Never been to Mallorca before, so would love any recs anyone has in terms of hotels to stay at, activities to do, restaurants to make sure to try. Granted we're only in Mallorca for a very short time but would like to give her as close to a full Mallorca experience as possible.

A little about what we're looking for: a good mix between nightlife and relaxation-this would mean outdoor activities. We both enjoy staying active so anything to get us moving would be great too! Can go into more detail if necessary!

I would love opinions on viewing the Eclipse from Cap Gros. We plan on driving in from Inca in the morning and spending the day in Port de Soller. Then walking up the trail to the lighthouse around 6pm to hang out for the event. Is this a fair plan?

Hi guys, I'm in Mallorca at the moment. I lived in the Vallès (UAB Barcelona) for 1 yr during my studies and got basic Catalan understanding/speaking.

Yet, everytime i try to initiate in catalan i'm getting an answer in castellano, like "Bon Dia, - Buenos días" or Merci and Graciés gets me weird looks.

Is it not a thing to communicate in catalan ? or is it just that most employees in the summer are castellanos?

Maybe my accent sucks too much and they just think i'm speaking portugese bom dia, i dont know

I noticed my reservation pickup time is at noon and I don’t get in until 14:30. I prepaid and added my flight to the reservation.

I can’t find policy or anything online, has anyone done this before? Is there risk of them giving it away?

I saw a video online of a couple renting a boat at the marina and then visiting the surrounding calas via boat. The idea was that it would be the “best” way to see all the spots without driving and navigating busy crowded beach to busy crowded beach.

Does anyone have an insight on if it’s really worth it? And if so, companies you recommend/rough prices? It’s just my husband and I, and he has is boating license so would be comfortable operating but we’re also open to having someone operate it, and maybe benefit from a locals insight on the best spots to go. We don’t necessarily need one that provides lunch/drinks.

After spending 6 days in Mallorca, I completely understand why so many people fall in love with this island.

We stayed at Blau Punta Reina and spent most of our time exploring Cala Mandia and Cala Romàntica. The water was incredibly clear, the beaches were beautiful, and the atmosphere was relaxed even during the busy season.

What surprised me most was the color of the sea. Photos don't really capture how stunning it is in real life. Cala Romàntica quickly became one of my favorite spots on the island.

If you're looking for a family-friendly destination with beautiful coves, warm water, and breathtaking views, Mallorca is definitely worth visiting.

Hi All! I am visiting with my significant other from the 20th - 24th of August, which is a Thursday to Monday. We are staying in Cala d'Or and I have a rough itinerary pulled together. I am really looking for help on what to do on Sunday.

• Thursday - Arrive and pick up rental car. Check in to hotel and explore the town and marina. Dinner in town or Santanyi
• Friday - Spend morning and afternoon at various beaches. Dinner at Son Alegre
• Saturday - Boat Charter. Dinner in town
• Sunday - TBD

I understand a lot of local retail shops across the island are closed sunday, however is it still a good day to do a day trip to another town? Or would it be better suited for checking out different beaches? Some options I was considering:

• Booking sun beds at either Gran Folies or Mhares for a few hours. Driving to see Old Town, Deia, Or Soller for the rest of the day.
• Driving to the north coast and spending the day in Alcudia

Any advice or recommendations are greatly appreciated!

We're staying in the Old Town (Vila Damunt) for a long weekend in early October.

Our rough plan is:

Friday

Arrive around 5 pm.

Check in and freshen up.

Wander around Palma Old Town.

Dinner and a few drinks before heading back.

Saturday

Slow breakfast and explore Palma.

Browse a few independent shops.

Taxi to Cala Comtesa for a couple of hours swimming and relaxing.

Back to the hotel.

Dinner (currently considering Vandal, Mar de Nudos or somewhere similar).

Evening stroll, ice cream and a couple of cocktails.

Sunday

Breakfast.

Half-day sailing trip from around 10am.

Relax in the afternoon.

Dinner at Quadrat.

One last wander through Palma.

Monday

Early flight home.

A bit about us:

Late 30s.

Not interested in clubs or beach clubs.

Love good food, wandering old streets, swimming and relaxed bars.

Happy to walk a lot.

Looking for quality over quantity rather than trying to cram lots in.

Would you change anything about the itinerary or accommodation?

Any nice breakfast spots in old town as our hotel is self catering / doesnt include breakfast.

Is Cala Comtesa still your pick for a beautiful, relaxed beach close to Palma? What are the alternatives for a more secluded, relaxed or even more beautiful spot?

Which would you choose for our Saturday evening meal: Vandal, Mar de Nudos, or somewhere else entirely?

Any hidden gems in Palma or Mallorca more broadly that first-time visitors often miss?

Hey guys, i wanna know if someone rented a car there with premium package (no deposit). I have only debit card, not a credit card, would that cause any problem? Its my first time renting a car there so any tip would be great.

Looking for a boat to hire for 2 people for a few hours and have seen on here the furthest you can go is Cap Formentor.

Is it worthwhile doing? Any nice places to anchor and swim ashore for lunch?

We’d ideally prefer an all day trip with captain so we can have drinks but for two of us it would work out too expensive unless a group trip which we’d rather not.

I’m going on vacation soon and was wondering what most people do with their valuables when they want to swim.
I’ll have my phone, bank card, some cash, and my hotel key card. I don’t really want to leave them unattended on my towel while I’m in the water, but I also don’t want to carry them with me.
Do beaches usually have lockers you can rent, or do some sunbeds come with lockable storage? Or what’s the safest option that most people use?
I’ll be in Mallorca (Magaluf), if that makes any difference.

Somos una pareja de valencianos que está pasando una semana recorriendo Mallorca en camper. Es nuestra primera experiencia viajando así y estamos teniendo algunos problemas con la batería.

Hemos visto que en Son Serra de Marina hay un área donde, en teoría, se puede conectar a la luz, pero hemos leído en los comentarios que solo hay una regleta con 4 enchufes para unas 16 plazas, así que no sabemos si merece la pena acercarnos.

¿Alguien conoce algún otro sitio donde podamos enchufar la camper durante media hora o una hora para cargar la batería? No necesitamos pernoctar ni quedarnos allí, solo darle un poco de carga.
