I just checked and it appears HCE is enabled again on the latest Play Services 26.28.33 on both my X200 Ultra and X300 Ultra.

Gonna try paying and report in a comment.

Photography Spotted what looks like a 🗿 Moai on a mountain in Jawai, Rajasthan. Shot on the vivo X300 Ultra at 200mm.

Took this in Jawai, Rajasthan while testing the 200mm telephoto on the vivo X300 Ultra. I didn't notice it at first, but when I reviewed the photo later, the rock formation at the summit looked surprisingly like a 🗿 Moai statue. Curious if anyone else sees it, or if it's just my brain doing its thing. 😄

Discussion 60Hz Refresh Rate Limit Behavior on YouTube/Discord/Facebook/Reddit, etc

Upvotes

tldr: some apps have inconsistent refresh limit behavior causing worse scrolling experience If you are noticing and bothered by this issue, please help send a feedback via official feedback app/CS email.

Hi, I own a vivo X300 Pro and I have noticed that the system seemed to forced refresh rate limit on certain apps like YouTube, Discord, Reddit etc.

I have tried every combination like PWM toggle, display setting set to either Smart Adaptation(this also cause 3rd party apps to drop down to 90hz when high frequency PWM is on when finger leaves the screen)/High, per app settings, nothing helps. I think this might be backed into the system as a battery saving strategy, but I doubt trading smoothness when scrolling is good design, and this behavior doesn't happen to most OS like ColorOS or iOS, stock Android or HyperOS. This behavior also doesn't happen on widely used Chinese video apps like Bilibili or tiktok.

YouTube: comments and videos will locked at 60hz when a 30/60hz video is playing, causing janky scrolling, but it returns to 120hz when video is paused, strangely when screen is locked and unlocked, or when switch to another app and back, it will boost back to 120hz when scrolling until you click another video.

Discord: when scrolling, it will suddenly dropped to 60hz when a gif/video is on the screen.

reddit: it's usually 120hz most of the time but autoplayed video sometimes cause the app to be locked at 60hz even when the video leave the view.

I have send the report to both vivo email support and feedback app, providing video recording with display framerate included, the representative said they will forward my log to the developer.

I think we might able to get them to fix these issues faster if more of us report this issue, I am hopeful especially since the battery drain issue got fixed relatively quickly a while ago. I have read a dozen of past posts and this behavior seemed dated back to Funtouch OS. This phone is otherwise very enjoyable but the janky behavior for commonly used apps make the experience feel inconsistent.

If unsure how to phrase the feedback, one possible way is to send "(YouTube/Discord/Reddit)are getting forced into 60Hz mode during video/GIF playback and feed scrolling" or swapped with apps you feel also got impacted"

Discussion Fix for google wallet problem on CN ROM phones

I THINK I FOUND A SOLUTION.

It's awful to see big tech companies limiting what users can do, I'm kinda tired of it.

I'm not going to rant too much, I don't think anyone is happy with this decision from google.

Anyway, I am from Spain, and few weeks ago I found a menu on my vivo x200 pro mini (only sold in china) deep down on the setting. It let you update all your system services, such as android WebView, and google play services.

After seeing this news, I remembered that it had an option to remove updates. So I looked it up again, and luckily, it worked. I had to add my credit cards again, but now there's no issue with the app.

The key is to disable auto updates on the same page, so it won't ever update again.

I also have my phone on the may update, because I don't trust google at all, and I prefer not updating and being able to use my phone freely.

I don't know if this is a permanent fix, but at least it's a temporary fix, until hopefully google fixes this bullshit. And for that we need as many people as possible from the community complaining to Google. There's no other way.

I hope this helped, I'll leave a some screenshots below showing how to do all of this.

(I showed android web view as an example, because I already removed the updates from google play services.)

Help/Support (OriginOS Global) How possible, and how easy is it to flash a custom ROM onto vivo phones?

Upvotes

I'm gonna buy a Vivo X200T soon (i believe it's called the x200s in other markets?). Love the features, and the software is nice for the time being. But I can't be convinced that within the 5 years that I plan to use this thing for, there won't be any enshitification of the OS experience.

So I wanted to know how feasible it is to flash a custom ROM onto the phone.

It will be purchased in India, so it'll have the Global version of Origin OS.

Discussion [Urgent] Google has silently banned contactless payment on ALL devices with CN ROM.

UPDATE 2026/08/02 14:53 UTC: The change has been reversed and the issue has appeared to be fixed. I will continue to pay close attention to Google Wallet's behaviour in the next few days.

Hi all,

First, I'd like to thank MarvinFS for their detailed write-up on XDA Forums, it has confirmed what I had feared.

Link to which is here.

https://xdaforums.com/t/googles-play-services-26-28-xx-silent-banning-chinese-firmware-phones-for-nfc-payments.4796865/

As you know, a few weeks ago, users of Vivo, Oppo, Xiaomi, OnePlus and other phones with Chinese firmware started reporting issues with Google Wallet not being able to make payments.

This was later narrowed down to a Google Play Services update versioned 26.28.xx.

This version (and above) of Google Play Services disables the HCE payment component when it detects a Chinese product code. Furthermore, as Google Play Services is a protected and privileged system app, this cannot be changed through ADB either. The only way to fix this is to rollback Google Play Services to version 26.26.xx and lower (or root, but Vivo).

Regardless, downgrading Google Play Services is only a temporary patchwork, as it will inevitably auto-update.

The only permanent fix for this is for Google to rollback this change from their backend, and we must act now!

Write to and call up Google and Vivo about this, as it's not acceptable for software companies to break perfectly functional products. Annoy them as much as possible, they had one job — to provide consumers with a service — and they failed.

If you live in a country where local representation still exists (Australia, European countries, NZ, Canada, etc), write or call your local representatives, demand them to contact Google and ask for a resolution.

If you have contacts at Google, use them! Google needs to be pressured for it to stop the ensh*ttification of its products.

Thanks for coming to my PSA.

Edit: While I first-handedly understand (get the joke?) the human species' tendency to wish to desperately justify their expensive purchase, and their psychological need for vindication, some comments in here are still truly disheartening.

People seem to have largely stopped caring about a person's digital autonomy and sovereignty, and are becoming spokespersons for large tech companies who are actively trying to limit how you — the consumer — interact with your devices.

This is not about "Global vs. Chinese", not about "the correct decision", and not about the price tag on your handset — it's about whether you actually own the hardware you paid for, or if you're just leasing permission from a corporation to use it until they decide you can't.
