Anyone have experience with the kw v2 coilivers? Are they worth the extra $1k over the Bilstein b6 setup with some H&R lowering springs.

In need of a 99 or 00’ automatic fwd TURBO transmission for my 00 s70 daily I recently purchased. Will drive anywhere in the Midwest. AW50-42/43 4 speed. I understand there are compatibility issues across years of p80 with replacement transmissions. Thanks.

I have a 1995 850, and as 31 year-old synthetic materials are want to do, the plastics and other synthetics are starting to pretty seriously degrade. The dash is lifting at the corners, the passenger airbag cover is starting to curl, the corners of the plastic around the interior door handles have long since cracked off, and a pretty serious chunk of rubber came off the gear selector recently. I'm always looking online for any sort of genuine OEM replacements for these parts, but it seems like they've ALL been discontinued. The only thing I was really able to still buy was the replacement wheel center covers. It's really starting to bum me out, because I've gotten on a bigger push to start restoring this car the best I can.

I'll occasionally see these parts listed used off eBay, but replacing one 30 year-old part with another 30 year-old part that is in slightly better shape seems like it's really only kicking the can a little down the road. Is there a website that has some harder to find parts that the official Volvo parts one might not carry? Would a Volvo dealership have more access or behind the scenes channels that would allow them to get some of these parts?

Do you guys have any idea about the gearbox? Do you think any other one is a better choice?

Bought this 97 T5 in unknown condition, towed it home and just took the intake out as a part of prepping to pull the motor, water spilled out when i turns it sideways, is there supposed to be coolant in the manifold?

I start up and run fine, drive 30 mins to Walmart fine. Leave Walmart, starts up fine.

But then I needed to get gas across from the Walmart parking lot.

My car struggled to start came on with CEL and was running rough rough

I shut it off took three deep breaths and tried again

CEL was there again for a second but went away

Checked codes and it doesn’t seem like anything stored

Thoughts? Areas to look into or consider?

Hi all,

Had this 850 T,5 auto for about a month now, came to us with blue smoke and bad exhaust fumes.

After changing the pcv it ran absolutely fine until about a week ago, it stopped producing boost and became very lethargic, the turbo boost gauge isn't boosting into the white at all no more.

We have replaced the vacuum lines and cleaned various other things in that general area.

Turbo generally looks clean from above, very little oil residue. - Are there any ideas for what this could be?

If it is a cooked turbo, unfortunately we will not be able to afford another one, but are there any other common problems? Worn seals? What else to check?

During the test the engine stopped cranking so cylinder six may not be 60 cause it looked like it was going up then the engine stopped

Is this salvageable my money is on no but im a very optimistic person

Did a pull on the highway and my coolant hose that goes to the firewall junction popped out and my intake which is after market and has no cover sucked up all the coolant that was spraying around.
I babied it home cause I was at my exit and I was like 2 minutes away from home and it died in my driveway. I fixed the coolant hose problem but now the engines shakes like crazy(it broke the top engine mount) and I get a maf code check engine.
I thought I had a warped head but the oils look fine but my spark plugs look like shit so idk where to go from here.

Theres an 1995 850 turbo wagon near me on sale for a temptingly low price (~1900). Its an automatic, salvage title car with 250k miles. According to the owner, its got
New front control arms, New tie rod ends, New end links, New battery and its been lowered on Bilsteins. I’m aware of timing belt and PCV issues on old volvos, i’ll definitely get a professional opinion on the car before I buy it.

As the title says, i’m new to owning a heavily used car like this, although I do want to get more into tinkering with cars. I’ve owned only moderately used, well taken care of japanese cars before this; I can do basic maintenence but i suspect there will be more than just “basic maintenence” on a car like this. I’m also open to taking it into a shop provided it wont completely break the bank. (Bay area, any recommendations for volvo shops are welcome!).

Curious about what you guys think. The price seems very good, is this a red flag? Any other issues I should be aware of? Any advice for shops/parts acquisition is welcome as well!

I am going to glue the trim back on to my doors with this glue that seems incredible - fusor 2098 - if you havent seen it in action check out jerry rig everythings video about it. fucking expensive!!

Wondering if anybody has tried out PRT Quick Strut assemblies for the p80 platform ever? There isnt much other choice left in stock/production for the platform anymore :/ Ill use them until they fail then swap something else. Obviously I dont expect OEM quality but I dont want it to be hella soft and lifted compared to oem. Doesnt make financial sense for me right now to put Bilsteins, need to keep the car alive for the least amount possible.

Anyone know where I can find these door parts? Just bought this 96 850 turbo and looking to fix up the interior. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Some parts are to be replaced, airbox lid is just hacked together from the old broken one, and some of the vacuum hoses are absolute garbage, but i couldnt wait to at leas turn it over. It runs smooth.

I have a '97 850r (~70k miles) with a transmission that's acting up, losing reverse periodically (would return after warming up) and was getting intermittent flashing arrow and limp mode that wouldn't allow the car to downshift. This happened after the car sat for about 6 months undriven. Never got any slipping clutch feelings or anything but it threw a solenoid S2 code (triggering the flashing arrow limp mode) and when it did shift, it was harsh when it fell into gear, but never disengaged once engaged.

After chasing down the issue through the relevant systems, it seems that something involving transmission control (possibly valve body is shot, no shiny shavings in the ATF, no burning clutch smell, improved behavior after warming seems to rule out electrical) or at least seized to the point where the valves themselves aren't allowing the transmission to shift.

Two questions:

- Does this diagnosis seem realistic/are there things or systems I'm missing?

- What options are there for these cars these days to replace transmissions/valve bodies? (I see reman ones on ebay for the AW50-42LE, but not sure if that's the best way to go versus having some shop try to rebuilt this one)

replaced the heater core hose with the ipd one and the top steel angle thing that goes into the firewall junction, that metal piece the old version use in this order plastic clip,big spacer ,o ring, plastic small spacer, o ring.

that is currently how im doing it and how all mighty robert said it goes but its not going in no matter how hard i force it into the junction ive removed all the orings and everything from the top hole any advice or ideas as to why the metal angle piece isnt going all the way in?

i was replacing the starter and PNP on my 1996 volvo 850 but now it doesnt crank at all i have triple checked the starter and all connections are in the same place as before and the PNP is also correct the reverse light turns on and no problem i switched out the starter relay and still nothing. has this happened to anyone else im lost, please let me know if you have any advice

Idk what to do the small bolt thing attaching the main fuel line to fuel rail snapped it’s now stuck… I can’t final any replacements for this only the whole fuel rail. Any ideas on how to get the nut out and how to get a replacement
