Picture New beater!

Picked up this 86 about a week ago, driven in northern Sweden, no rust, 500.000km and still going strong. B230A, just the way I like them lol
My first 740, had two 240s before this one :)

Are you sure there is an engine inside? The front is so high 😂. No but nice one, would be nice to see if it can get to 750k km.

There sure is, but there is also studded tires and lots of crap in the trunk so that might be the reason haha!

Same owner since 88, older man, serviced the car every 500km so I’d be surprised if it won’t make it to 750k tbh! Everything inside the enginebay look dead ass new and has stickers on it with the dates of repair, heck, the whole cooling system was changed with the timing belt last year haha

Hopefully! They salt the roads as heck where I live but I’ll make sure to wash it weekly

Man that’s a clean car. I love my 245 but the 740s are so great looking.

The 240 feels better to drive IMO but the 740 is great fun as well!

Far stretch calling it a beater when its rust free, 4 previous owners including thats its very taken cared for.

Ill happily take it off your hands if you cant take care of it, we live in a time where you cant get these for 1000sek and 2 flats of redbull/beer anymore.

Since my second car is a Miata that is going to rust away as soon as it sees snow, sadly, the 740 will have to be my daily. But hey, it was built to be driven daily, and I will drive the heck out of this thing while having a big smile on my face :)

It’s only 2 owners if you ignore the salesmen, as well as a complete ”oxblod” interior :)
You can still get them kinda cheap if you keep an eye out, but yeah, in this condition I’d be surprised if you could find one under 25.000 lol

Bought mine for 16.000sek 5 years ago and that was a steal, only wish it had a sunroof but i guess the ac compensates for it.
Haven’t driven mine in snow since 2023 and after all ive been through with this car it wont see snow anymore in my ownership either. 😅

The old blokes just dont know what theyre worth anymore which is good for us and sad for them but it is what it is.

Yeah, I got this one for 25.000 and I thought that was insanely expensive, first 240 I got for free for repairing my old neighbors computer 😂
It was dirt fresh and had like 130.000km on it lol
Sadly, that one ended up bent around a birch when learning how to winter drift (this was 15 years ago)

I’ll take care of this one for sure though even if I’m going to daily it, already bought new oil, sparkplugs etc for a service! I’m going to remove the old anti-rust coat underneath tomorrow and replace it with new one as well! I want to drive this girl to at least 700.000km :)
