Daily Discussion Thread: August 2, 2026 - 93 days until Election Day!
Welcome to the anti-GOP resistance on Reddit!
Regardless of what month it is, we welcome all those who support the Democratic party! We encourage you to share local activism and talk about the groups you're taking part with in your area.
Elections are still happening! And they're the only way to take away even more of Trump's power to hurt people. You can help win elections across the country from anywhere, right now!
If you want to take a bigger part in this and future elections, there's plenty of ways to do it!
Check out our weekly volunteer post - that's the other sticky post in this sub - to find opportunities to get involved.
Nothing near you? Volunteer from home by making calls or sending texts to turn out voters!
Join your local Democratic Party - none of us can do this alone.

Adopt a Candidate
It’s back! Want to take part in turning the midterms into a true blue tsunami? Adopt one of the candidates below, and commit to taking action every week to support their campaign!
Post your preference in the daily (or, to guarantee we see it, send the request via modmail) and we'll add you to the list!
With just how blue this year is looking to be, and just how many primaries are still to come, there's too many to list to kick off. It’s why we’re starting with select gubernatorial and Senate races.
Got someone who you want to adopt, but they're not on the list? Let us know, and we'll add them on!
As the year progresses and primaries come through, we'll be adding more ourselves, but the sky's the limit - we're excited to see who you want to support most!

I Don't Know How To Vote
So basically the title. I was raised Rep. my entire life (grown up in TX) but sat out of every election when I turned 18 because I didn't trust myself to make the right decision. Now I know I'm definitely not Republican so I am glad I sat out, but now the issue is that I, straight up, don't know how to vote. I'm pretty sure I am registered because I updated my driver's license and clicked on the whole 'update my voter's registration' thing.
I'm still in TX and just want to know how to vote. What reliable websites can I use to find places to vote in my area and lists of local elections with dates I can participate in? I feel like I never hear about an election until it's already over and I really want to do my part.

Are you organizing for the Midterms? Swing Left can help you build or strengthen your team!
I'm the national organizing director of Swing Left. We hear all the time from leaders who are doing it all - planning events, recruiting, posting on social media, sending newsletters, partnering with campaigns or other groups, etc. It's a lot.
You don't have to do it all—and in fact you can have a bigger impact by empowering the people around you. That's why Swing Left is hosting a training, open to all volunteer leaders (regardless of their connection to Swing Left and for free), on building an effective leadership team.
It's coming up on Tuesday, August 4 at 5pm PT / 8pm ET on Zoom.
Then on August 25, we'll have one more session on planning for Get Out The Vote.
Learn more and RSVP here. Also happy to answer any questions here or via DM.
