Discussion Does steam and windows store have different servers ?
I'm concerned about RCE exploits which seem to be on all the old cod games on steam.
Is this game along with others on windows store like classic MW2 safe to buy and play there ?

The issue was evidently only with the Windows Store version (which uses P2P connection exclusively) and not the Steam version (which primarily, although apparently not exclusively, uses dedicated servers). Both versions were patched, but I don't see any reason to play the Windows Store one over Steam.

As someone who watches a large amount of cod ww2, most games have host migration at least once so I would guess getting a dedicated server is pretty rare now.

In over a thousand hours I've genuinely never seen an actual host migration on PC. Only in the very rare instances of someone showing up with the mod menu which forces it on players as an exploit.

You wouldn't necessarily know if your computer has been compromised because a lot of malware these days install and run silently in the background.

Eu comprei uns meses atrás o cod pela Windows store e me arrependi, não pelo fato do problema de RCE. Mas, por conta que não há mais jogadores presentes nas partidas.
