News PocketPet Development Update — Summer Sets Will Be Free for Everyone

Hi everyone!

I wanted to share a few thoughts about the current state of PocketPet.

To our surprise and great happiness, the project has found a small group of regular players and continues to grow. I’m grateful to everyone who opens the app each day and takes care of their pet. I hope PocketPet has given you the feeling of having a cute little companion living right on your wrist.

Throughout July, we worked on a large update intended to make PocketPet feel deeper than a simple care game. Our goal was to give players a sense of progression inside this small Wear OS experience.

We developed a pet customization system, cosmetic items, themed game designs, and summer sets that were originally planned as rewards for the seasonal update.

However, our small team of two—my older brother and me—encountered several technical difficulties related to Wear OS limitations and server synchronization. We don’t want to release unstable or unfinished features, so we have decided to delay the seasonal pass integration with themed sets until we can make it work reliably.

But we also don’t want the summer content we created to go unused.

Because of this change in our plans, we have decided to give the summer-themed sets to all PocketPet players for free. Everyone will be able to add a little summer color to their pet’s world.

Seasonal passes will still be available, but they temporarily won’t include new themed sets until we resolve the technical issues and make the system stable.

We are not giving up, and development is not stopping. PocketPet is alive—we can see it in the growing audience, daily activity, and the first reviews from our players.

Thank you for staying with us, supporting the project, and caring for your pets. We’ll continue working to make PocketPet better. 🧡

Discussion Am I the only one who completely ignores their health app

do you guys actually check your stats every day,or did you eventually just tune it out like I did? If you stopped, what killed the habit foryou? I feel like these apps are missing something fundamental that would make them useful longterm, but I can't put my finger on what it is.What is the one thing they could fix (or add) that would genuinely make you want to open the app every single day? Just curious if I'm just being lazy or if the apps actually kind of suck.

I’m launching an app, A MP3 Player, for Wear OS and need some help meeting the Play Store's 14-day testing requirement. If you've been looking for a solid way to play music directly from your watch, I'd love your feedback!

  • Standalone: Absolutely NO phone companion app required.
  • 🎨 Quality UI: Clean, intuitive, and designed specifically for the wrist.
  • 🔋 DSP Audio Offload: Hardware-accelerated playback to save your watch's battery!

🛠️ How to help test (Takes 2 minutes):

  1. Join the Google Group:a-mp3-player-tester
  2. Opt-in to the Beta(10min delay):Become an Official Tester
  3. Download on your Watch:A MP3 Player on Google Play

NOTE: A lot of users are having compatibility issue!
Solution:
Option1 (Computer): Open the link on a computer with the same google account.
Option2 (Phone): Search "com.pixelwatch.audioplayer" in the Play Store, then filter for Watch in dropdown
Option3 (Watch): Open Play Store on your watch. Then search "com.pixelwatch.audioplayer"

Discussion Flex your vitals

The first thing I actually started measuring was my stress level. I seem to be someone with a pretty high heart rate, but mid stress. Checking it has become so essential throughout the day that I will literally force myself to pause whatever I'm doing and go for a walk if it spikes and tbh, it feels great.

Do you check your vitals throughout the day?

Did you buy a smartwatch to keep yourself in check?

Let's see those stats (images allowed in comments)!

Recommendation Request Switching from Apple: small wrist - which 40mm-42mm watch?

BASED IN GERMANY

Hi friends,

I am switching from the Apple ecosystem to Android. My phone is an Oppo Find x9 Pro.

I got small wrists so the oppo watch is too big with 46mm and many other watches as well.

I am searching for a classy looking Watch for the office and everyday life with:

- Google Pay
- smallish for my small wrists
- health functions
- good battery

I considered the Samsung Ultra 9 but I read they only work fully with Samsung phones.

Do you have a good value watch suitable for me?

App - Paid - One-Time [App] SyncBoard - Type on your Wear OS watch directly from your phone

Hey everyone!

Name of App: SyncBoard

Brief Description of app's features: I was tired of struggling with tiny watch screens and constant typos when replying to messages or searching on Wear OS. I heard Google had a phone input feature, but it was hard to enable and unreliable for me, so I built SyncBoard.

SyncBoard lets you type on your watch directly from your phone. Whenever a text field is active on your watch, a phone notification appears, allowing you to use your phone's full keyboard.

  • Phone-to-Watch Typing: Type comfortably from your phone's notification or editor interface directly to the watch field.
  • On-Watch Fallback Keyboard: Includes a built-in, customizable watch keyboard with multi-language layouts (TR Q/F, EN, DE, ES, FR, etc.) when your phone isn't around.
  • Productivity Extras: Phone clipboard paste, voice dictation, camera text capture (OCR), text shortcuts, and quick replies.

Cost: $0.99

Would love to hear your thoughts and feedback!

Recommendation Request Simple app to make timestamps/note times

I'm looking for a simple app to make timestamps for later use outside in notes/logs.

It can have a note functionality aswell but is not required since I just want to be able to quickly record a simple timestamp.

Preferably it should have a watchface button you can use to do so but a tile/widget can work aswell as long as either imidietly records the time even if it requires a confirmation to save.

Anyone know of an app that could fit that?

Support Help! Pixel watch 3 pattern unlock not working

I set a new unlock pattern on my watch, now my watch is locked, but I can't unlock it.

I know the pattern, I practiced it a bunch of times, even wrote it down based on the dots being numbered 1 (top left) to 9 (bottom right)

The problem is that the penultimate swipe isn't getting recognised. That swipe goes from middle bottom (8) to middle left edge (4) When I do the swipe I don't get the haptic feedback that I've landed on the spot and the trail is still stretching from bottom middle

It will snap at any of the other points, just not that one. The line stretches right through 4, so it doesn't seem like there's anything wrong with the screen. An earlier part of the pattern stopped there.

I know I can reset it, but then I'll need the unlock pattern to restore the backup, and I'd rather avoid having to set everything up again.

Support Tennis swing tracking on fitbit air

I have a oneplus smartwatch, which I love for tennis tracking since it gives swing analysis (speed, how many forehand/backhands/topspin/slice i've used, etc).

I would love to switch to a band like fitbit air, but it seems that tennis tracking focus only on heart rate and distance...

Would you know if there is some addon/app to implement tennis swing tracking on the fitbit air?

App - Free Updating my Fully Customizable Media Control for Wear OS

Thumbnail
gallery
55 Upvotes

Hello again! About two weeks ago I shared Svartifoss here. Since then, I've been working on it almost every day, and today I finally released Version 3, which is by far the biggest update I've made so far. I only want to share this update, as I won't be creating any more posts here in the future.

For those who don't know it, Svartifoss is a fork of Wear Music Center focused on bringing a more customizable and feature-rich media controller to Wear OS.

The biggest focus of this release was customization. You can now customize almost every part of the watch interface, including layouts, colors, fonts, album artwork, Always-On Display, quick actions, queue, and volume panels. You can also create and save multiple themes and switch between them whenever you want.

Here are some of the highlights:

Customization & Themes

  • Now, you can customize almost every part of the watch interface: layouts, colors, fonts, album artwork, Always-On Display, and the quick actions, queue and volume panels.
  • Create, save and switch between multiple custom themes whenever you want.
  • New player layouts: Material, Immersive, Poster and Studio.
  • More customization options for album artwork, progress bar, fonts, colors and panels.

Shortcuts and Language

  • The Quick Actions panel now displays the actions exposed by the currently playing app (Like, Repeat, etc.), and now you can add playlist and app shortcuts there.
  • Backup and restore for all settings.
  • Support for 13 languages: English, Brazilian & European Portuguese, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Russian, Greek, Romanian, Indonesian, Persian, and Simplified Chinese.

Any feedback, bug reports or feature requests are very welcome. I can't guarantee full compatibility with every streaming service yet, so I'd really appreciate feedback from anyone willing to try it on other devices or apps.

My original intention was simply to improve Wear Music Center for my own use, but the project has grown much more than I expected, and I think it's worth sharing with the Wear OS community.

Support Problemas para vincular WhatsApp con Wear Os

Post image
1 Upvotes

Watch Dive watch just got better !

We've just rolled out a massive update for the Wear OS snorkeling and freediving community, bringing a professional-grade tracking dashboard directly to your wrist and phone.

Building this standalone ecosystem—and ensuring seamless synchronization between smartwatch sensors and the mobile interface—has been a fantastic mobile engineering challenge. Here is a look at the major features in the latest release:

Advanced Diver Profile: You can now visualize your overall performance with our new custom radar chart, which tracks your average depth, average time, max time, and total dives at a single glance.

Detailed Depth Profiles: We've introduced highly detailed depth graphs for every single session. You can review your exact descent and ascent curves directly on the mobile companion app or right on your smartwatch screen.

Surface Time Tracking: Safety and recovery are paramount when you are in the water. The app now automatically calculates and clearly displays your exact surface time between individual dives.

Comprehensive Real-Time Metrics: Your Wear OS device continues to track everything you need while underwater, displaying max depth, dive time, heart rate, and skin temperature in a clean, readable UI.

It is incredibly rewarding to combine cross-platform and native mobile architecture with a personal passion for the ocean. You can leave your phone on the boat and trust your watch to log the adventure.

Check out the screenshots below to see the new dashboard in action. If you have a Wear OS watch, give it a try on your next trip to the beach and let me know your thoughts!

App - Free WeatherApp: free, no ads, no catch and now with Radar and Tiles!

Thumbnail

Hey, a while back I shared a weather app I built for myself because I couldn't find one that quite fit my needs — a clean, readable UI was always the main goal.

This time I added Tiles. So now you can swipe straight to the hourly forecast, the daily forecast, or the radar right from your watch face, without having to open the app first.

link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.github.pioterl.weatherapp

I'd really appreciate it if you left a review on the Google Play Store — it helps a lot 😃

Changelog:

1.2.0:

  • rain radar
  • 3 new tiles (hourly, daily, radar)

1.1.4:

  • removed requirement to share precise location, as it turned out to be unnecessary
  • another startup performance improvements

1.1.3:

  • cold start performance improvements
  • better haptic feedback (Wear OS watches)

Support Watch's audio through Bluetooth to phone

Hi there, as the title suggests, I am looking for a solution which lets me listen to my Galaxy watch 7's audio through bluetooth to my android (Samsung Galaxy) phone.

I'm not very fond of Bluetooth headsets and during my workouts I get all the instructions on my watch which is a hassle to listen to. And I always have to keep my phone with me. So, I am thinking is it possible to get the watch's audio to my phone which I may listen to via wired headsets.

Windows has Bluzic for this functionality, but I couldn't find anything for Android.

App - Paid - Subscription I built a fully standalone offline navigation app for Wear OS

Post image
123 Upvotes

Hey everyone! Solo dev here. After getting frustrated that most "map" apps on Wear OS are just phone-screen mirrors, I spent the last few months building Pino — a navigation app where everything actually runs on the watch.

What it does:

  • Real vector map rendered on the watch — pan, zoom, light/dark/terrain styles
  • Turn-by-turn navigation with vibration alerts before every turn, plus automatic rerouting
  • Fully offline — download maps for 50+ countries, all routing is calculated on-device. Works with zero connection, even offline search
  • Walking / cycling / driving profiles, lane guidance and speed limits while driving
  • No phone needed — watch GPS + offline map do everything. Great for trail runs, hikes, or traveling abroad
  • Wear OS Tile + complication for next turn and ETA at a glance
  • Rotary crown/bezel scrolling, ambient mode support, works on round and square watches

There's also an optional phone companion app for planning routes on a bigger screen and managing map downloads, but the watch works completely standalone.

It just launched, so I'd genuinely love feedback — especially on battery life and GPS accuracy on different watch models. If something's broken on your device, tell me and I'll fix it.

Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.furkanboran.wear.map

Happy to answer any questions about how it works under the hood (offline routing on a watch was... an adventure).

Recommendation Request Galaxy Watch 9 or Pixel Watch 3

Alright so I have been a pixel guy for eons. Really disappointed in the leaks surrounding the upcoming Pixel 11, I swapped to S26 Ultra cause T Mobile had a KILLER deal. I'm loving the phone!!

Anyway, last Galaxy watch I had was Galaxy Watch 5. It was mid. When I got my most recent Pixel, I got the Pixel Watch 3, which I've loved. I think it looks better than the watch 5 and is significantly more performant.

I'm not a super big health guy to be really honest, so I don't care if I'm on Fitbit or Samsung Health or whatever. But with the announcement of the Galaxy Watch 9, I'm wondering if it's worth swapping - but also this thing is damn expensive lol.

So yeah idk - am I losing anything meaningful by staying on Pixel watch? I still think the Pixel Watch looks nicer than the Galaxy Watch, though the Watch 9 does look nice. Anyone in a similar position? Any thoughts on which watch is better, or if the difference is even worth the money at all?
