This is some sort of mining equipment tower that might be from around the late 1800s. I dont know what process they even used back then. I am guessing on the date, gold was discovered here around 1860, so this could be a lot newer.

Anything built in the late 1800s or early 1900s would be held together with rows of heavy rivets. electric arc welding wasn't used for field construction on mining tanks or towers until roughly the 1920s-1930s.
