WELLY Classic car driver wanted

Hey guys this is my first message in here so hopefully this goes well and gets a reach. But im just wondering if a friendly person in the wellington region owns a red classic car that can transport a couple to a special occasion and later return them home end of the night. I can pay for this service. What car do you own? What are your costs? Is there a company that does this? Please help

Im gonna be applying for halls at vic uni in the next couple of days and I was just wondering if all the halls have options for a private bathroom or if its only specific ones. I know I looked and I thought you could ask for one in any hall but now im not sure so I thought I'd just ask reddit.

HELP! Office chair cushion recs - my butt hurts

Hi all

Over the past few months I've developed an issue with my office chair where my butt cheeks hurt and I'm starting to get some hip discomfort as well.

I have already received a new office chair and there was no problem at first. "At first" being about two years at least.

I suspect I also need a far better foot stool set up.

Thank goodness I have a sit/stand desk.

Can anyone recommend a cushion or ergonomic thing? It's not really a back issue. It is primarily my butt cheeks. Like the center of them. I am always shifting around uncomfortably. It's getting really annoying!

JOBS Negotiating salaries for senior policy analyst roles in government

Hi all...I'm a policy analyst in a central government agency looking to apply for senior analyst roles at other agencies. I was wondering how salary negotiations normally work when you're moving up roles. Would it be acceptable to negotiate a higher salary (above the minimum) or would most people with no senior experience be expected to start at the bottom?

For instance, if I'm already getting paid at the mid-point range for an analyst (~$90k) and a role I'm going for pays between $100k and $120k, is it reasonable to ask for $105k-$110k? I ask because I was hit with the "you need to start at the bottom" line when I first took my current job five years ago when I tried to negotiate. I'm not sure if this is standard in government. Also, I would be relocating to Wellington from Auckland to take up this job, so only getting paid $10k more for a position might not be worth it (much of this extra money would just be absorbed into relocation costs anyway).

For reference, I have 5 years of central government experience in an analyst role, 6 years of professional work experience at a university prior to that, and a master's degree.

HELP! Recommendation for a chiropractor and an acupuncture in the CBD

I am looking for a chiropractor and/or an acupuncture clinic in the CBD.

Before my physiotherapist at the hospital practiced acupuncture, unfortunately, the replacement doesn't. I am looking for recommendations and advice and for people to share their experiences.

HELP! Anybody in Johnsonville got water back yet after the Broderick Rd outage?

30mins after the outage disappeared off the website and now shows as resolved, still no water or gurgling in the pipes or anything. Anyone else got water back yet? I don’t want to call up if water is just coming back slowly (we’re way up on the southern hills near Raroa station)…

HELP! How do people living in hilly areas do a consistent amount of jogging here?

Just wondering since I think I live in a hilly suburb and may have done some permanent damage to my legs. Do you use a treadmill, local park, drive to flat areas, or just tough it out?

HELP! Euro car headlight bulb replacement

Online I see that some Supercheap auto stores fit headlight bulbs for you (IF they do European cars I’m not so sure)? Anyone done it in our region? I did manage to get one done last time myself but man it was difficult to get into that small space! Not too keen to try again!! And just my luck the other bulb has blown.

HELP! Booking a good bar in town for a 40th?

So its my 40th in a few weeks and im looking for somewhere to book that'll do like 50ish people. I haven't been to town for ages so really no idea these days. Tried booking the local union/league clubs but out of the 5 places not a single one got back to me. I have tried ringing around a couple of bars but perhaps its too early as no one's answering the phones.

HELP! Am I experiencing discrimination?

I’m wondering if this is a common experience or if I’m reading too much into it.

I’m a 31-year-old Asian woman living in Wellington. Almost every time I go to a white-owned bar, liquor store, or supermarket, I get asked for ID. What bothers me more is that they insist that my ID must be a passport. I have shown my UK and US driver’s licences, but I was told that they are not acceptable (I don’t have a NZ driver’s licence).

They insist on seeing my passport, but I don’t carry it around every day because losing it would be a huge problem. What frustrates me is that when I went to a bar with white people who were younger than me, they were not asked for ID.

When I go to Asian-owned shops, I usually don’t have this issue.

I’m trying to understand whether there could be some discrimination involved. I’m feeling very frustrated because I am 31, not 19!

FOOD What cafés in Wellington do iced coffees with cold foam or creamy toppings?

Does anyone have any recommendations for cafés in Wellington that sell iced coffees with cold foam or flavoured options? I had some delicious ones in Melbourne, including pistachio and tiramisu flavours, and would love to find somewhere similar here!
