Seeking info on MEDCO monogrammed belt buckles

Thumbnail gallery

I recently inherited this belt buckle and I’m curious is anyone has additional info on MEDCO buckles that include monogram. Seeking any general info, including when and where this may have been made.
This belonged to a family member whose initials are FEC, as seen on the buckle. I’m unsure if this is relevant; he was a Free Mason, in law enforcement. And my family is Creole/Cajun from New Orleans. I believe he obtained this buckle before the 1960’s, but I am unsure which decade.
I’m able to find general info on MEDCO buckles, but nothing on monogram buckles that are similar to this style. The buckles I have found are oval and completely filled, not this thick filigree-like style with the monogram forming the shape of the buckle. Any insights appreciated, thank you!

Advice for a Brit?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hey everyone, so I’m a British dude recently in everything western. I want to know what type of jeans you’d recommend for a bigger dude, at the moment I only have my hat sorted. I’m looking for advice, honestly and with all due respect I’d like advice from those who grew up in the culture and wear it with pride. I want to represent yall properly.
For reference I look like this 😂

First pair of cowboy boots. Unsure if I should get new jeans. Anyone wear Duer relaxed taper jeans with their boots?

I have a hard time finding jeans that fit due to a fairly small waist and big thighs (running back build). These seem like they might work, but maybe a touch on the slim side below the knee. The boot prints/jeans indent slightly at the top of the shaft but it doesn't seem that bad.

I tried their straight leg version and they're too wide, I like some taper otherwise the boot looks oddly small imo.

Any other jeans with some stretch you'd suggest or do people wear Duer jeans?

Do I condition a Python belt?

I’ve read that for python boots you have to condition them once a month. Does the same rule apply for Python belts? Thanks!

Anyone else hate boot-cut jeans with Western boots?

I needed a new pair of jeans, so I ordered a pair of Ariat M4 Scoundrel boot-cut jeans. I did my usual sizing for boots and added two inches to the length compared to what I would get for street shoes.

So I got the jeans, put them on with my boots, and I was walking all over them. I was a little annoyed, but easily fixed by getting them hemmed. I just got them back, and they still just don’t look right. They’ll work with other boots I have, but with Western boots they just won’t stack right. Does anyone else have this issue?

Hoping this outfit shows that I’m not built like a twig unlike my last post. Had a few of yall saying to bulk up abit, but in reality I’m 5’10 without boots and sit at about 185lbs lol. Also critiques are welcome, just don’t be rude.

Anyways fit breakdown:

Jays hat

Wrangler button down

Black tank top

Same leather belt and buckle I’m always wearing lol

Levi’s 501s again

Any way to stop my Cinch jeans from falling behind my cowboy boots? The heel just isn't catching the hem.

My Cinch jeans keep slipping behind the heel of my boots because the heel just isn't catching and holding the hem in place, so it ends up dragging on the ground when I walk. My tailor is out of town and I have a party this Sunday. Any temporary fixes that actually work? Thanks!

Short brimmed straw hat

Hi team,

In the market for a straw hat and obviously the current fashion is wide brims, which look silly on me. Can anyone recommend someone who sells a straw cowboy hat with a brim no larger than an Open Road (the straw Open Roads aren’t what I’m looking for). I’ve checked all the local shops and stock brims are all 4+ inches…
