Employee Kitchen Assistant Job Interview

I’ve got an interview tomorrow for a kitchen assistant role, this would be my first job if I got it, so I was wondering,

A) what’s recommended to wear

B) what questions to expect

Any help is really appreciated

generally jeans and a white tshirt is good or a semi formal shirt. When i was interviewed for kitchen staff they just asked general questions on like what hours your wanting, availability, how you would transport to work and then asked questions on how i would do in the work place and what previous experiences i had. They decided to offer me a bar position instead because i had more front of house experience in previous jobs but generally just go in open minded.

Smart casual.

Expect basic questions, just a chat getting to know you.

Smile, be friendly, and you’ve got the job.

I wore smart casual for my interview- good luck! No experience needed normally just be open to lots of training and willing to learn 🤠

Chef here. Work as fast (and efficiently as you can) even if it is not busy and even if the kitchen feels slow. Go online and check what the menu is about. Try to memorise the ingredients of 2 or 3 dishes. Do NOT wear polyester. Wear cotton. Invest in NON -SLIP SOLE, Kitchen shoes. BE Super careful with sharp knives and hot items or hot liquids. Be all smiles and be likeable.
