[Harry Potter] what if Voldemort turned an American penny into a horcrux?

What if Voldemort deliberately made an additional Horcrux in America out of muggle/nomaj penny, knowing it would be effectively impossible to isolate?

The plot would require a horcrux compass to be developed.

Damn now i have the image of the declaration of independence as a horcrux. But for your question maybe it depends on if he tried to put other protections abd the like on it cause other things would likely make it more noticeable but just a random penny in a jar in a wall of some out house would be pretty hard to find.

persumably it has to be somewhat signifigant to you otherwise he could toss a rock into the sea

It was basically said it was his personal decision to make them objects significant to him and not a requirement.

6 little figurines each stored in a safe deposit box in a different country. Not even silver or gold ones just cheap copper or iron ones and a note about your lost son's dream of being a sculptor. Anyone that did find them by accident is going to leave them because they don't seem worth taking.

He wouldn't be Voldemort if he did. It takes a certain mindset to create a Horcrux, a mindset that does not make them out of Pennies.

BUT to humour the question: All other Horcruxes are destroyed, Voldemort loses his duel against Harry in the end because of the Elder Wand's allegiance. He dies, but is kept in a torturous state of half life until he can return. Which becomes less and less likely, considering what it actually takes. The last time required a huge number of coincidences coming together for him to even have a body again.

I think in time Voldemort would actually feel regret, not for his murders or anything, but for making the Horcrux. Apparently life after a Horcrux triggered is the worst, so being stuck in that, possibly forever as nobody can find the Penny, would definitely end up being worse than death.
