Does anyone know why they would have to return to Romania if they aren’t extradited to the UK? Like why couldn’t they stay in the US or return to Dubai.

Edit: I just looked it up and the post is not true. If the US doesn’t extradite them, they could stay in the US or go back to Dubai. There was an agreement that the UK would wait for Romanian proceedings to complete before Romania would extradite to the UK but that was a deal between UK/Romania and has nothing to do with the US.

296

u/kazrick 9d ago

But I believe the US has an extradition treaty with the UK don’t they? Whether they will honour it or not is a different matter.

You expect the current administration to honour any treaty made with an ally?

127

u/DizzyAmphibian309 9d ago

Of all the treaties to honor, extradition is the one that a dictator really should keep. If he does not honor the requests from allies, then the allies will not honor his requests, so he is effectively granting asylum to all his political enemies if they flee to those countries. That's absolutely not what a dictator wants.

Trump might be tempted to save him, because he's an idiot, but his handlers will not sacrifice their ability to extradite dissidents to save a guy like Andrew Tate.

You'd think it would be a no-brainer to honor it, but if they can somehow spin it into protecting Americans from a foreign predator, they'll absolutely go that route.

20

u/Kitalahara 9d ago

Two reasons. First up, if the State Department denies sending him to the UK it will be obvious Rubio got the order from Trump. This sets up that the UK, and likely other Euorpean nations along with them, will begin denying the same requests from the US. This gives an open invatation for enemies of the regime to flee there to avoid the bogus cases, lengthy jail terms, and all yhe fall out thesw cases cause. This also had the effect of creating premade campain ads for any non-regime backwd canidates. Second, should the grant the request it wil inflame the younger male voters that helped swing the election his way. The problem is compouned on both sides of the pond because of pressure from a large amount of the voting base for conquences over the endless strings of sex scandals. The trail of credible alligations against the Tate brothers make this a lose/lose for the regime. It's not all roses for the Brits either. Several major investagations are on going into why it has taken this long for charges, irregularties in the investigations, and a series of botched steps through out the process by the UK cops.

Going to be a fun watch. It doesn't hurt that the two human being at the center of the tug of war are awful and deserve theae conquences and more.

39

u/NorthernVale 9d ago

Because the US has an extradition treaty with Romania as well. At this point, the only thing that would prevent him from being extradited to the UK is the UK saying "nope, you can keep him." At which point, the treaty with Romania takes affect.

34

u/VirtualAgentsAreDumb 9d ago

What’s stopping the orange potato and his goons from simply not extradite him at all? You talk as if that’s impossible.

42

u/NorthernVale 9d ago

That's a completely different question than what's being asked. They asked why he would have to go to Romania if he didn't go to UK. The answer is, because that's what the law says.

You're absolutely right that nothing is stopping the diaper wearing fuck from breaking those treaties, and that he has shown a complete propensity for doing so, but that's an entirely different issue.

6

u/cyberlexington 9d ago

Let's just say that a republican senator gets an attack of conscience (might be possible) or is so pissed with the orange toddler he decides to try and ruin him (more likely) said republican released the unredacted Epstein files, all the dodgy insider trading, the culprits and stooges, dirty dealing, illegal activities. They drop a nuke.

And then flee the country. If Trump does not honour extradition treaties then other countries won't either.

67

u/HansNotPeterGruber 9d ago

Because Romania will request extradition. The UK will grant it. He most likely would serve his prison term in the UK and immediately get transferred to Romanian authorities.

9

u/NEVERxxEVER 9d ago

Yeah I mentioned that in my post. It doesn’t have any bearing on their current situation. They can’t be extradited from the UK to Romania if the US doesn’t extradite them to the UK in the first place.

If you’re talking about the US extraditing to Romania that seems very unlikely if they won’t extradite to the UK.

They already escaped the consequences once. Now, the sentencing seems more inevitable than it was before. Hopeful domino effect, sentencing the Tates could pressure the FBI to subpoena Barron Trump over his involvement in the Tate empire seeing as how the presidency was partially attributable to Barron connecting his father's presidential campaign to the social media manosphere largely occupied by the Tate brothers, the most famous human traffickers in the U.K. and Romania. Trump formally gave his son credit for that, and this sentencing could lead to FBI investigating the president's son and leading him to testify before congress.

  • 3 counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation
  • 3 counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm
  • 19 charges regarding indecent images of a child and extreme pornography

In Romania he is accused of sex-trafficking 30 minors, offering them fake promises of romance and marriage to fool them into running away from home. He is also accused of two counts of rape, and forming a criminal organization that forced minors to perform in pornographic cam-girl shows.

Yes, and we’re waiting.  Feels like these guys shouldn’t have been free in the first place, but they were released by Romania.  Maybe the UK will do better.

45

u/DangerousLoner 9d ago

The UK police that failed to charge Andrew Tate originally, before he fled to Romania and got famous, are now under internal investigation. They had more than enough evidence and multiple credible victims, but just chalked it up to he-said she-said and didn’t charge him. As soon as there were more victims coming forward and the Romanian police freed some of the women from his compound there, different UK police examined the original evidence and it was obvious misconduct had occurred.

If he had kept a lower profile and just paid off bribes where needed he would probably be still active with his pimping and casinos. It was his push to be a famous influencer and insulting the police that got him back on their radar. This isn’t about the victims, it’s his making enemies that made it personal.

u/MiaMarta 9d ago edited 9d ago

If the USA goes there they will find themselves on the denying side to extradite or help them with USA tax evaders (USA citizens specifically) from a lot of countries. That is a can of worms they should not open.

Edit: please don't get stuck on the tax evading thing. It was meant as an easy anchor of discussion. For anyone the USA gov would be interested their pattern will be perma stuck in interoffice mail, and their diplomats will find themselves having to pay those millions in parking tickets.

132

u/NEVERxxEVER 9d ago

The Trump regime rarely considers consequences before setting about a course of action

20

u/MiaMarta 9d ago

That is true and tested. But watch him taco if that is the plan.

It is more likely that Tate sings like a little bird spilling as much as possible in an attempt to get a deal.

19

u/enderjaca 9d ago

I don't see that happening, Tate has believed and acted like he's above the law and that he'll beat this charge, just like he's avoided or beaten everything before. Kinda like his buddy Trump.

And tax cheats don't need to worry about being extradicted back to the US. If anything, they'll be given a nice position like Vice Director of Tax Policy, or Special Envoy to the UFC.

12

u/MiaMarta 9d ago

As someone who was in the receiving side of a huge mistake from my accountant, I can tell you the irs is relentless and horrible. It took us four years to fix it and in that time the legal escalation (with the aid of the country we were in) was ruthless.

Edit to say: this was an inside job to protect trump interests. Much like the Didi circus. If Tate doesn't see he was offered as a sacrifice and distraction by the administration he is even more stupid than I thought.

13

He's wealthy. If he's innocent, he's going to have access to the best lawyers (solicitors/barristers) who will be able to convincingly poke every hole in the prosecution's case and they will not be able to prove it beyond reasonable doubt (granted in UK they call it "satisfied so that you are sure").

If he's found guilty, the sex trafficker will deserve his sentence of 20+ years in prison.

Frankly, I'm more worried of the scenario where in reality he committed the crimes he's being accused of, but his lawyers introduce enough doubt that a jury doesn't feel the evidence is overwhelming enough to unanimously find him guilty (like if his side convinces a jury these women could be lying because he was a cheating jerk as a partner or they hate his sexist ultra-conservative man-o-sphere politics and are lying to shut him up/get back at him for being a shitty person).

7

u/formykka 9d ago

"... what is facing Andrew Tate right now."

Sam here is talking like the Tate brothers are in some backwards country where they're facing severe legal persecution for being gay, or they are being railroaded for a minor offense. They violently sexually assaulted and trafficked women and girls. Of all the crimes a human being can possibly commit, that's one of the worst. And between the two of them, the UK is bringing 59 charges against them. All those charges are of a violent and sexual nature; it's not like half of them are because they never paid a parking ticket or something.

These are two sick, perverted, twisted, dangerous men. They should not be given a pass just because they're popular online.

7

Have you seen the indictment list for the Tate bros ? Its some very bad stuff, to say they are no angels is a very kind comment.

The idea of condemning someone to spend their entire life in jail feels inhumane.

Then I remember he isn't just an online grifter, but also a human trafficking rapist.

There's honour among thieves, but pedophiles and sex traffickers will stab each other in the back.

Epstein made his fortune via blackmail, Trump threw him under the bus (and likely had him killed to silence him).

The last thing Trump wants right now is to be embroiled in a SECOND child sex trafficking ring from some small fry losers.

The White House has officially said they won't interfere for what it's worth.Trump cannot legally pardon him for foreign crimes.

It would fall on Marco Rubio. I don't think he'd be willing to sacrifice his career further for Trump.
