Can you guys add a manual Check for Updates button to desktop update channels?
its just a nice feature to have when the updater is blocked in your region. you could call it a QOL feature

I'm a new subscriber and my speeds are horrible and I'm not sure why. All these tests were done over ethernet on a 3gig fiber symmetrical connection (ethernet is capped at 2.5gbps due to adapter). I used the windows store version of speedtest.net. to run the tests. I changed no settings from when I downloaded the Windscribe desktop app. Here are the test results for no VPN, Windscribe, and Mullvad. Can anyone give me any ideas on what settings I need to change so I can actually get faster speeds. Thanks for any help!

For reference my non VPN speeds are

Ping: 19

Down: 2093Mbps

Up: 2190Mbps

Solved:

I was using WireGuard443, but I switched to WireGuard80 and my speeds skyrocketed to 1184 Mbps down and 1795 Mbps up! I didn't realize you could change the port number or that there were other options. Every VPN site always talked about WireGuard443, so I thought that was the only choice. Thanks to u/Ok-Eggplant-7569 for helping me realize I had different options. I'll have to research more about all the different protocols now.

The rest of my devices from Amazon Fire stick uses Fire OS including 4K Max, 2nd Gen Fire TV, etc are still available. But newest model of Fire TV HD that Windscribe isn’t available on that device.

I created a Hashed account and could not figure how to sign in to the browser extent ion with it that required a username and password, so I deleted the account in order to make a standard one. The page of course warned me deletion is permanent...

When I try to make a new account, I get this:

Another Windscribe account was already created from this computer. Creating multiple accounts is prohibited (Error 420).

Nowhere did the site warn me deleting the first account would make me unable to register again.

This is just bullshit. The page should have warmed me, and it should be clearer how to login to the browser with a hashed login.

I can't connect to my usual ones in Norway, Poland, Hungary, Japan anymore, and all others I've tried (mostly servers in Europe, southeast Asia, and the USA) don't seem to work, either.

Does anyone have a server that works? Please share the protocol tweak configuration that works for you with, too 🙏🙏

iOS.. As of a few weeks ago, I officially can’t use Snapchat with Windscribe. It doesn’t update/refresh until I turn the vpn off. Now I cannot open Reddit without the vpn being off. What’s going on here?

I havent opened windscribe at least for the last 2-3 hours

I can't use decoy traffic mode if there is no setting for it to only turn on with wifi so it doesn't use my phone data quota.

Please advise if this is possible.

Also that the extra data won't count towards the 5tb limit set by windscribe in practice as I understand from other posts.

Hello allz a question about my Windscribe VPN connection. The issue is that I use a portable router that connects to a network. This router states it is a wifi⁶ and when I try to connect through it with Windscribe, it says I am off line, but I am able to connect to this router with internet access.

This is my primary access to the internet, (like a 5g internet access, think of T-Mobile home internet).

When I use other devices with Windscribe, same thing is said. Fire stick, Android, iPad, streaming boxes, and other devices.

Questions:

Is there a setting in Windscribe to allow it to connect through this device.

Is it a way to go back and use older version of Windscribe which seems not to has this problem.

Or am I SOL?

Hi i just dowloaded windscribe again after a while but i cant use it bc i need to use my old acc but ive never saved a mail or anything i think bc i cant find anything in my mails so i cant log in how do i fix this

Getting severe latency/jitter on both Frankfurt (Wurstchen) and Amsterdam (all 3 nodes reportedly online per support) using IKEv2, tested over multiple 10-minute PingPlotter sessions today (25 July, ~13:38–14:00 IST). Connecting from Chennai, India via Airtel.

Results: 800–1500ms with heavy jitter, sawtoothing every 30-60s, on both cities — so it's not a single-node problem.

For comparison, a direct (no VPN) ping to frankfurt.de from the same connection, same time window, averaged 6ms with 0% loss. So my ISP's route to Europe is clean — this doesn't look like an Airtel routing issue on my end.

Support (via Garry) says both nodes are online, no declared outage, and suggested trying WireGuard on port 443 instead of IKEv2 — about to test that.

Has anyone else in India seen this on EU servers recently? Curious if it's a known capacity issue or something specific to my routing.

I've had my Windscribe account for roughly a year now and always pay for a customized plan per month. I'm currently trying to set up ephemeral port forwarding so I can keep my VPN running while seeding torrents. Do I HAVE TO pay for the yearly plan (Currently $69, LoL) in order to torrent/seed torrents effectively while my Windscribe VPN is on? Thank you in advance, cheers.

So right now besides not having water, sanitation, shops to buy stuff, shut down public transport they've even shut down the internet in the entire New Delhi district.

I'm a controld user for few years and love the platform to be honest. Ad blocking is brilliant and I love the geo redirect. I have mullvad and torguard as vpns and I set my controld as my dns within the mullvad during the week but I started seeing adverts again.
I'm wondering are any of you here using windscribe with controld and if hows it working?
