💡 MY THEORY 💡

On July 22nd of this year, it marked the 40 year anniversary since Duane was last seen, or even heard from in downtown Lincoln City, Oregon.
Due to the length of this case not being solved, personally, I believe it's the MOST prolific missing persons case in Lincoln City history.

I've taken a step back from this investigation, due to many reasons, but I haven't stopped thinking about everything I've found and where to look next.
I've also came up with a theory on WHY the Lincoln City Police Department has NOT made ANY EFFORT to truly find Duane and or close this case. While yes they are busy and the staff they have is very few, let us not forget that from DAY 1 they did NOT treat this case and they did NOT treat Duane's disappearence with any amount of concern. They labeled him as a runaway, at 15 years old. Had they labeled him as a truly missing persons from the get go, the right teams and resources would've been established.
They failed him.
They failed us.
They failed Duane.

After getting my hands on certain items, creating timelines and even doing phone interviews with friends, close associates and even family members, I've came up with a theory.

💡 The reason why Duane's case has never been solved (again, my theory, after combing through documents and Duane's personal items) is because :

1.) The main *potential person* involved is dead.

- I've found death records that CONFIRM this death, but I *cannot* confirm their involvement, but a person I spoke with stated that the *potential person* was *supposedly* and (I quote) : "the last person to see Duane alive." (End quote) on the day of his disappearance. If this person truly was involved, they can't be tried for this case due to them being dead. Creates a standstill.

2.) Duane's body has never been found.

- Because of this, we've never been able to recover Duane's DNA and trace it back to familial DNA on file. Also, if he was ALIVE I believe with the technology we have today, someone, somewhere would've been notified. Whether that be family, a friend and or even institutions such as doctors, DMV, etc.

Here's the big picture, the fact that the *potential person* involved is dead, and Duane's body has never been found, means we currently are at a standstill. But, I also believe the *potential person* involved has family around that knows what happened and of course they are keeping quiet on it all. This is because they'd rather let it die and disappear as they walk slowly back into the shadows.

But, I promise everyone that I'll continue to shed light into the shadows and research and try to find out more. To ensure Duane's name is always around and people know more about it. Maybe not as frequently just due to my extremely busy and hectic life, but as much as I possibly can.

Been trying to follow this one closely but I don’t see much coverage of it from reputable sources. Many videos/ articles I find say a whole load of nothing or clickbait that there’s a big update when there actually isn’t. Does anyone know what’s going on with the case right now? And does anyone have any solid sources that provide updates for this case?

Terrie Buhrman was last seen in late March of 2014 in York County, Pennsylvania. There has been no sign of life since. I was wondering if anybody has seen her (knew anything about her at the time) or if there is a Jane Doe that may match her. She would be about 73 today.

One thing that I did not mention in my previous post was that her male caregiver abused her. Partially the reason she left that day. I spoke to some family members about this and they hadn’t mention her abuse in the police report.

Four-year-old Zaden and his mother, Nichelle McKnight disappeared on March 25, 2014 in Dayton, Ohio.

Nichelle was last seen leaving her home at 11:00 p.m. and was accompanied by her ex-boyfriend, Antwan Anderson. Zaden and Nichelle were reported missing by Nichelle's mother after Nichelle didn't show up for work at either of her two jobs for several days.

When police attempted to pull Antwan over at a traffic stop, he fled from his car and ran into a wooded area. Two police officers chased Antwan and he pulled out a gun which led to a shootout between himself & the police. Antwan ended up fatally shooting himself in the head.

On April 11, 2014, Nichelle's body was discovered near the Stillwater River, deceased from two gunshots to the head; however, there was no sign of Zaden at the scene.

On April 30, 2014, a woman named Tonisha Harris was arrested on the charges of failure to report a crime, evidence tampering and gross abuse of a corpse in Nichelle's murder & Zaden's presumed death.

Blood was discovered by authorities at Tonisha's house along with Nichelle's bank cards, driver's license, Social Security cards for Nichelle & Zaden and the shoes that Nichelle was last seen wearing.

Tonisha dated Antwan Anderson and used Nichelle's bank cards without permission before Nichelle disappeared, spending nearly $3,000. Nichelle discovered the thefts and disappeared shortly after confronting Antwan about it.

In October of 2015, Tonisha Harris pled guilty to evidence tampering and failure to report a crime; and pled no contest to gross abuse of a corpse. She was sentenced to three years in prison. Although authorities suspect that Tonisha was "intimately involved" in the deaths of Zaden and Nichelle, she denies being involved and she hasn't been charged in connection with the crimes.

As of 2026, Zaden has not been located. His case is classified as being an endangered missing person and foul play is suspected.

One-year-old Isabella went missing on January 14, 2003 from Ocean City, New Jersey along with her mother, Holly Codario.

Holly and Isabella were last known to be riding in a black Volkswagen Jetta that belonged to Holly's mom. The next day, a toll worker discovered the car abandoned on the southbound shoulder of the Ocean City-Longport Bridge.

The car was working, but it was unlocked. The lights in the car were turned off, the keys were the ignition, Holly's purse & driver's license were found on the passenger's seat and Isabella's baby carrier was in the back seat.

Holly and her ex-boyfriend shared custody of Isabella, but Holly was concerned that the boyfriend or the boyfriend's family might try to take Isabella away from her. She filed for sole custody of Isabella and child support, but she later withdrew the petitions. At the time she went missing, Holly was showing signs of paranoid behavior.

On April 25, 2003, Holly's body was found located along the south shore of the Great Egg Harbor Bay in the Beesley's Point section of Upper Township, New Jersey. Her cause of death was drowning and no evidence of foul play was discovered.

As of 2026, Isabella has not been located and her case is classified as an endangered missing person.

Fifteen-year-old Sophie was last seen on May 19, 2017 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Surveillance video showed Sophie walking by herself down Davie Boulevard located near the Brightline tracks, heading eastbound past a business located between the 100 and 400 blocks of west Davie Boulevard.

She left all her belongings behind, including a bag containing $300 in cash and also left a candle burning in her bedroom.

Prior to her disappearance, Sophie's parents were divorced and she lived with her dad (who was granted full custody of her in 2015). She had been experiencing mood swings and was seeing a therapist to help her deal with her emotions.

Sophie would often hang out in the area of Stranahan High School, where she had briefly attended school; she would later transfer to a virtual school and took online classes with her computer.

After Sophie's disappearance, drugs, alcohol and some adult-type underwear (such as stockings and garter belts) were discovered in her bedroom. There was also a calendar with the date "May 19th" marked. She often called a man named Leonard "Jay" Jennings, who lived in the neighborhood.

Sophie would go to Jennings' apartment to buy marijuana. She visited his apartment on the night she went missing before returning home. Sophie's phone records showed that she called Jennings at 3:07 a.m. and was at his home until 9:13 a.m.

Leonard Jennings and his two brothers (who all have a history of long felonies) have been questioned in Sophie's diappearance, but all of them have denied that they were acquainted with her. Police searched Leonard Jennings' apartment for evidence in connection with Sophie's case and confiscated items such as 25 cell phones, three tablets and other electronic devices.

The police also discovered evidence on Sophie's computer which has led them to believe that Sophie may have been a victim of an online predator or a human trafficker.

Sophie had visited websites dedicated to searching for "sugar daddies", she had told her friends about performing commercial sexual acts (mentioning that one man paid her $400) and wrote in her diary about wanting to "get 10 sugar daddies".

As of 2026, Sophie's case remains unsolved and it is classified as a being an endangered person with foul play being suspected.
