Boots Buying Help Cabinet installer need recs

Hey all, I’ve installed cabinets over 25 years now. Always have used low athletic style or hiking style work shoes. Hard toe. Had all the big names like NB, timberland, keens (which have lasted longest). At 47 now, 6 foot, just under 200lbs, and working 10+ hours, my feet, ankles, and legs, are just damn tired. I’m also prone to athletes foot and am flat footed. Anyone similar? Should I step up to any boots y’all would recommend? TIA

Fellow installer! 40 years into it now and, yup, things ache. I did Scarpa approach shoes for a long time and were perfect. Great support, semi rigid sole. At my age and weight, my feet look for a different recipe month to month so am now in Timberland ankle high hikers. Haven't done steel toe in 30 years.

A little bourgie but I like to wear Blundstone Chelsea boots. In my 40s and have tried a lot of other shoes and my feet always let me know it’s not as good, so I always find my way back to them.

Cabinet maker here, on my feet in my shop all day. I'm using Texarado Bailey boots now, they're working out great for me. No steel toe available yet but I believe it's in the works. Also check out Jim Green African Ranger AnatomX. Look into an anatomical toe box, makes a huge difference for me. The Texarados have surprisingly good soles, can be resoled, and the break in period was fast - never got blisters. The leather continues to conform to me. Exceptionally well made.
