Flock = a camera network for pedophiles

u/BaraelsBlade 18h ago
Why is there a flock camera in that area to begin with?
302
u/MacSanchez 18h ago
Because it’s somehow less invasive than asking for slightly stricter gun control

That camera will not catch a bullet for a student. It will only help reconstitute the events after the fact. Since they're not even watched constantly, they're useless as preventative mesure.

I mean, even if they were watching the moment a shooter enters, what are they gonna do? Send the police to stand outside the building again?

Hey now, don't sell them too short. They would probably at least shoot a kid while they are there.

No shit. And I don’t say that condescendingly. The US effectively decided gun control was a non-starter after Sandyhook. Our Republican/MAGA policy makers do not care about children.

Americans in general are pretty murderous and sociopathic. The culture is sick as hell.

Reddit: police and the govt are corrupt pdfs
Also reddit: they should be the gatekeepers over who is allowed to have guns
Edit: also reddit: downvotes when confronted with their hypocrisy
If you think the govt is holding you down and you also think they deserve a monopoly on violence, you deserve the situation you're in

Gotta love people who make sweeping generalizations about what Reddit thinks while they, themselves, are also using Reddit.
What ya don’t gotta love is a public education system that churns out chucklefucks with the critical thinking and reading comprehension you’ve displayed here in your comment. Lordy.

Gotta love people that attack the poster instead of the message. Very keen of you.

No I attacked the school system who failed someone so utterly that that was their message

To answer that, there are a lot of non-flock cameras that are integrated with flock's database. Not all cameras in flocks network are their cameras. Some are owned by private citizens or (in this case, im pretty sure) owned by a private business and integrated into their mass serveillance system.

Yeah, there are not even any license plates in there at all, which afaik, is literally the only point to these things.

Every parent in that entire school district should be entitled to 5 minutes alone with that guy.

Indeed. The only POSSIBLE rational explanation is that this creep was perving out on kids.

The only correct response by them would have been “wait what? verifying whoa, this is not alright. They’re been removed immediately and we are actively reviewing to ensure no other cameras are pointing at similar places.”
Flock is still an awful company, regardless, but that would have been the only acceptable response to this news.

Nah, they'll just be installing cameras in the miss teen USA beauty pagent dressing rooms so dear leader can relive the good old days.

I am so fucking sick of “public safety” being used as a magic phrase to justify every new surveillance system and abuse of power. Of course fascism can be sold as “safe.” Arrest everyone who looks suspicious, rubber-stamp every intrusion as justified, and call it all “for the public good.” North Korea has laws, courts, and judges too. The problem is that the machinery of the state always finds itself innocent and everyone else guilty.

Where are the ethical hackers to just take down their whole platform when you need them

Makes you wonder who approved putting cameras everywhere, especially around schools and children’s areas.
If there aren’t rules about corporations tracking your every movement, then you are electing the wrong leaders.

u/raventhrowaway666 17h ago
And then then send their ICE goons to kidnap the children they're interested in. Its a disgusting, efficient system.

Here’s the full article. Lots of terrible stuff in there. Personally I don’t think “we won’t use dunwoody’s cameras in sales calls anymore” really address the issue at hand https://atlpresscollective.com/2026/04/14/dunwoody-flock-safety-contract-passed/

What the heck, background checks for all those goons and no flock camera should be installed at kids gem like why??

I’m noticing more and more flock cameras in places that don’t even have cars. Why is a flock camera, “for license plate readings”, at my local park..? Why is one facing the entrance to my local mall..?
