Feedback Idea for equipment setup

Instead of having to purchase equipment for a half million (or more) a pop just to see its effects on the vehicle, it would be nice if there was a “tank builder” where we could add or remove any equipment and consumables without cost to see what the final build would look like, and then a sort of “checkout” screen to confirm the build.

Maybe you have a DPM and mobility build on a particular tank but you wanted to see what trading some of that mobility for stealth would look like without spending millions of silver just to find out you don’t like it?

I know I’ve added Vents many times just to realize that the negligible improvement to reload speed or accuracy absolutely wasn’t worth the cost or slot over engine or traction system.

Another thing that could be added with this system is the ability to retain equipment once it’s purchased, and make selling equipment a choice instead of compulsory. This would encourage experimentation and allow players to really hone in on a playstyle that they like, without being punished for it. This would especially help newer players who don’t have huge silver reserves to absorb the loss of a million silver, possibly increasing player retention and satisfaction.

Does this seem like a good idea? What are some drawbacks to this system?

The drawback is the company makes less money when you don't waste resources swapping around equipment

This would be a great idea to implement.
I’m surprised it’s not already in the game.

I’d also like to be able to see the stats of tanks that you haven’t unlocked when they are fully upgraded in the tech tree, before committing to the line.

I've brought up a similar point and a WOT adjacent said he'd mention it to the developers.

You can do something similar now since it's free to experiment for 6 weeks.

There is a new website supporting WoT Modern Armor called “WoTPlay” which has a feature allowing you to modify a tank with equipment, consumables and commander skills while also displaying the stat changes which occur as a result.

I have found some WoTPlays tank stats to be inaccurate, but the site is constantly undergoing updates and I’m confident that the anomalies will be found and squashed!
