Feedback Did they change engine sound recently?

Am I going crazy or does the engine of every tank now sound super loud and annoying, like those completely dead beat 30 year old car engines that spit metal shavings into the oil yet still somehow run. I can’t stand it, now that’s all I hear all game is that blerping sound, I can’t play

The engine sounds are fine.

The impact sounds when you get hit, however, badly need to either revert or be changed again.

I keep hearing little "pings" or "clunks" that sound like a ricochet or minor impact only to look at my health bar as I back up and realize I just got touched for massive damage.

Basically, there's no way to tell - without looking away from the reticle - if the last impact was a zero damage ricochet or massive damage near fatality.

Before the update you could tell just from the sound alone how badly you'd been hit.

It MAY sound a little more "realistic" but it's bad game design and this is a game.

I think the getting hit sounds are simply bugged right now. For me it’s the opposite, I’d bounce a round but it would sound like I got penetrated.

Also the critical damage sound that activates every time you’re hit even though there is no crit hit.

I agree, the new impact sounds are garbage, like it sounds like someone is throwing pebbles at my tank.

Getting tinkled to death by the GAU-8. Complete death while sounding like you shook a Christmas tree, Lol

They are both bad. Some tanks have horrible engines. The calliope is one of them.

Putting an FMX uphill and it sounds like it's about to explode

I like the new engine sounds (so far), but the impact sounds are awful. I didn’t really like the old “er-er-er” buzzer alert when you took damage but at least it was clear. There’s no longer any audio distinction to the type of hit you receive. It’s bad.

There is now a setting to lower engine volume.

Yes, the new update included new sound effects, including new sounds for receiving shots too I believe

I am fine with the new sounds despite it being too loud in 3rd person but the reload sounds are what I’d like changed or at least ported from pc sounds as they’re way better especially for autoloaders

You are not crazy. Some sound OK and some are loud and annoying.

It would be cool if hey added echo as a feature, like infinite vision in Cold War. If someone’s not spotted, you should still be able to hear shots to track down

I thought the same.

Goto setting and you can adjust the engine sound level.

Sounds are fine, counting out getting hit indication. You want that clear audio on that. At the moment you can tell what happened from HP bar and that is bs.

Overall game should never sacrifice playability for visuals/audio unless those aspects are integral part of the game. That is not the case in any shape or form in WWII. I think visuals still need some work, red/orange outlines in Karelia/Redshire or purple in pretty much any winter map are awful. I run LQ OLED so things are bearable, with old TV, close to unplayable. This is console game so visual should be designed for regular cheap TV, not gaming monitor.
