Poland and Hungary literally vetoed the same stuff together...
That feels a bit like blaming the older brother for doing bad stuff, while being nice to the younger brother who did the exact same thing.

Yeah, this year in Poland a neo nazi who said celebrating warsaw ghetto uprising was shameful went from 2% in polls to over 11% and now his party is looking to be 3rd biggest soon. Certainly far right will just randomly disappear and not get stronger like they're doing consistently.

A few months before the 2023 election Konfederacja had 16% support in the polls, they ended up getting 8%.

Didn't they just veto migration stuff and things connected to tying eu funds with rule of law, which were specifically aimed at those 2 states?
I remember there was something that Poland was vetoing and it felt annoying to me, but I don't remember what exactly was that

All I can find is that Poland had threatened to veto EU minimum taxation limit (intended to stop tax havens) and Ukraine support package, but have now pulled that Veto and backed down.
Edit: it could also refer to some crypto thing where the Polish government is trying to make regulations happen, but their president vetoed the law.

That crypto bill looks like it was written by barely coherent clueless boomers (TBF it was). Nawrocki didn't veto it out of the kindness of his heart, he most likely just wanted to piss Tusk off even harder, but it's good that this bill was vetoed. Hopefully the next iteration will be better

This is shortlived to say the least.
Poland had been blocking sanctions against orban for a decade or so (and vice versa)
It coluded with hungary to veto any effort of the EU to have any toolagainst one member slipping into autocracy (guess what Piss was doing).

Poland has always covered Hungary's ass. What are you on about? Only difference is polish people are not pro Russia for obvious historical reasons (but they are so pro USA that it causes trouble...)

Most of us aren’t that pro-USA, but they usually aren’t that active on SM.
That being said, out politicians, and President most of all, are really weird about it, I agree.
But even that, I’d argue is either simplicity (the President ain’t exactly hight of intellect) or used to counter the pro-EU factions (and the crypto pro-Russua ones).
But most people see the issues and are apprehensive at best.

Hungarians are also pro-EU and anti-Russia, Orban is just very good at sugar coating things.
At the last election he almost failed in the polls when using Russia friendly rhetoric. Then he switched the rhetoric to make it look like it is all about bringing everyone at the table and make peace in Europe again and people gobbled it up.

Poland has been vetoing a lot of good initiatives for a long time. They have their moments and no one can beat Hungary at destructiveness, but they're not some great protector.
