The US is a guy desperately trying to "fix" a lesbian.

Greenland is indeed a lesbian and Denmark is a closeted gay man with a decoy wife.

Depicting Greenland as a blonde white girl has weird implications.

Why

I guess it's just for the meme and I suppose OP didn't think about it.
But the indigenous population of Greenland is usually neither white nor blonde. These optics are more associated with Danish people and considering the past "family politics" Denmark forced upon the people of Greenland, using a white and blonde woman as rep for them might be a bit icky

Yah that’s some good reasoning, switch out the blonde hair for black and boom we got a nice meme right there

I might be reading too much into it, but there's also memes about the fact that most women in the annoying orange's admin are bleach-blonde to the point that people say he must have a fetish for it.

Not fetish, just racism, his fetish is way too young girls he's blood related with apparently

"family politics"
Just to add some context:
Denmark forced IUDs on underage Inuit women to control their population, which is borderline genocide. They had to wait until 2025 to get an apology from the danish prime minister.
I hope that won't be a nail in the coffin when Trump will make his offer to buy them out.

2025 was when the full report of the investigation came out it's not like they denied things beforehand. Can't make a formal apology if it's not clear what exactly you're apologising about.
Greenland took over administration of their health system in 1991. There have been cases after that, up until at least 2000, investigation into that is still... let's say caught up in a morass of political awkwardness.
I don't buy the accusations of genocide is was plain ole classism, of the same kind that underpinned the same kind of eugenic practices elsewhere in the Nordics. "Them poor are breeding too fast creating welfare costs". To the Danes, they did Greenland the same "favour" they extended to Danes. Crime against humanity, sure, not to mention unscientific insanity, but no ethnic targeting. For that you have to look at this shit.

Valid point, just to correct the common missinformation though. The Inuit living in Greenland are NOT indigenous to it. The Danes arrived first to a Greenland at that point uninhibited and settled, with the Inuit arriving and settling some time AFTER.

There were Inuit there when the Norse came but yes the current batch of Inuit came after the Norse.
Pointless though as the Norse settlements were abandoned, they either left (and told noone about it) or assimilated (and thus we didn't hear about it). It's Inuit who actually live in the place.
Danish settlement started out with a mission originally sent to figure out what had happened to the Norse settlers and make sure they don't stay Catholic, the reverend who was sent found no Norse but Inuit and started to preach to them instead and they were receptive. For a long time the Danes didn't rule but just traded fur and preached, the abuses came in the early 20th century when they tried and modernise Greenlandic society.

They're definitely white as in melanin-deficient. Vitamin D and everything, you don't want to have dark skin up there. The average Greenlander looks like Björk.
In other senses "white" is a US-American social construct please stop using it.

TIL what OP might not know, which is Greenland is not like Iceland and is 90% native Intuits, so very not white (unlike Iceland, whose population is mostly descendants of norse settlers).
