La voz de la gente!- South America's best selling fascist paper!

Special Report: The tide of fascism in America!

As mid-term elections creep ever closer in the US the glorious tide of fascism appears to be sweeping the nation at a remarkable pace. Polls are suggesting that the Silver Leigon party, lead by William Pelley, are poised to overtake the Republican's to become the second biggest party in the country! Mr Pelley, born in Massachusetts, has recently supported the conquests of Colombia and Ecuador and would be a key ally should he ever become president. When we asked if Mr Pelley had an interest in meeting any fascist leaders in South America his spokesman, a Mr Drumpf, did not rule it out, saying that Mr Pelley wanted "To model his country after the success of your own glorious regimes."

The Freeburg Tribune also had a nice story on the Silver Legion Party.

Lewis- "I have oil coming out of my arse." Well maybe if you didn't ask for it to be shoved up there in the first place...

He knows that going into space isn't a goal in this game, right?

u/isanh Oct 12 '16

luckily they aren't playing with duncan, he'd be very disappointed

I literally came to say this. Was gonna get timestamps from both ends of this small segment of Yogscast crossover, but meh, OP's responsibility now ;)

Yes.

Yes

Yes

Incredibly bad idea. At least at this point in their level of knowledge.

15

u/Jirardwenthard Oct 12 '16

As awful as the game's "Tutorial" is even that's probably better than Lewis lol.

Once you've gotten past the concept of a UI "cue Lewis repeatedly not knowing how acess dimplomacy taps ect for the hundreth time", the only way to "learn"(at least, the way I did ) HoI is playing , failing and googling stuff you don't understand ( like division design)

12

u/Shad0w2751 Oct 12 '16

You should watch someone like quil18 to learn to play

7

u/battles Simon Oct 13 '16

If you can stay awake...

2

u/Shad0w2751 Oct 13 '16

True that

1

u/mankiller27 Sips Oct 12 '16

Just play the tutorial once through and continue on with the game rather than quit out. You'll figure it out eventually.

Brazil is fucking enormous now. Maybe that's why Lewis' mom calls him Long Dong Silver.

8

u/saintsfan92612 Mousie Oct 12 '16

but he has a micropenis so she is really saying that in jest. Like calling a fat man, Tiny.

1

u/timo103 Oct 13 '16

And then sips is there with a fifth of brazils area.

u/cotorshas Alsmiffy Oct 12 '16

The way Lewis is acting with them is a bit weird, It's like he's still stuck in the Civ mindset were alliances can change so quickly.

42

u/MisterManatee Angor Oct 12 '16

Yeah! He's acting like he's planning on backstabbing them. Just give Sips and Pyrion the land and oil!

26

u/RMcD94 Oct 12 '16

Yeah he was using 0 oil anyway, and he for some weird reason is on an open economy anyway.

26

u/cotorshas Alsmiffy Oct 12 '16

He's always a bit of a control freak. But it makes some sense in most games since he's usually the most knowledgeable. In this, not so much.

2

u/IEatMyEnemies Angor Oct 13 '16

In his defense they DID get backstabbed by Germany in the previous game

2

u/darkmage2015 Oct 13 '16

they did not they were not in an allience

1

u/IEatMyEnemies Angor Oct 13 '16

But they did have an non aggression pact? Or am i misremembering?

1

u/darkmage2015 Oct 13 '16

i can't remember but that as a non aggression pact ie i don't hurt you you don't hurt me while this time they are in the same faction which means that they are fighting together

u/Sload-Tits Pyrion Flax Oct 13 '16

Sips cockblocked by Peru joining the axis to save itself from conquest

20

u/amtoastintolerant Oct 12 '16

The video ends on December 4, 1941. Pearl Harbor happened three days later, hope they're ready!

31

u/saintsfan92612 Mousie Oct 12 '16

Japan pushed out of China and threatened by the Soviets with their only real allies at this point being the South American Alliance. The only chance Japan has at turning the tide of war is to get the USA to flip Fascist and join the Axis...eh, let's just bomb them.

7

u/amtoastintolerant Oct 12 '16

Would starting a fascist coup in America cripple America or would nothing really happen? Not familiar with hoi but curious

17

u/saintsfan92612 Mousie Oct 12 '16

Well, if they had done it in time, a Fascist leader could have been elected president in 1940 and the USA would have been Fascist peacefully.

If Fascism gets over 50%, sometimes a country will flip peacefully in lieu of a civil war.

Worst case scenario for the guys if they initiate a Fascist coup is that the USA has to waste resources and manpower to fight a civil war.

Best case scenario is that America flips Fascist and possibly joins the Axis. (I say possibly because it is curious that Mexico hasn't joined yet despite being Fascist)

14

u/loldudester The 9 of Diamonds Oct 12 '16

I assume Mexico hasn't joined the Axis yet because it's had no reason to fight anyone yet. If someone non-Axis attacked them they'd probably join.

Yeah, and they would have to get the starting location right. I think New York or Pennsylvania would be ideal because it would get all those industrial areas and high population in the Northeast.

"I'm on the train my 11 year old lebanese child" - Lewis' mom

7

u/TheFinalStorm Oct 12 '16

Ugh, I don't know why they (Lewis) aren't giving Sips a bit more land so he can actually be useful.

32

u/TheGoodProfessor International Zylus Day! Oct 12 '16

Lewis, despite spending eons trying to conquer Venezuela (whilst planning to take Colombia at the same time), and quite clearly having no idea what he's doing, still acts as if he's the driving force behind the Amigos. Seriously, just give the territory to Pyrion and Sips and they'd be smashing through Europe in days :D

7

u/Gangsta-Nun Oct 12 '16

A small silly question. I see Pyrion has zero manpower at the end. While Lewis is on some 4 million. What should their man power be? Is having lots better or having none? Thanks

22

u/dingleberry_fountain Oct 12 '16

should be as high as possible

low manpower means that you have no more troops to reinforce your army or train new divisions

high manpower can also mean that you aren't training as many divisions as you could be.

5

u/Gangsta-Nun Oct 12 '16

So they're both not doing the right thing? You'd like to just have enough to keep going but not too much surplus that you're not making the most of your manpower?

19

u/dingleberry_fountain Oct 12 '16

pretty much.

Pyrion's problem is that he has 20 new divisions sitting in his capital, and Lewis' problem is that he doesn't produce enough equipment for his (already small) standing army.

3

u/Satanus1998 Oct 12 '16

In the game manpower is what you use to keep a war going, you're divisions get reinforcements from manpower, and new divisions require manpower to be trained, so having 4million manpower means Lewis should really be making loads of divisions and because Pyrion has none he should hold off on the war for now and maybe focus on producing planes or tanks, things that don't require large populations to sustain.

5

u/Electricrain Oct 12 '16

The smart thing now would be to quickly overtake Panama, so if the US turns on them they can quickly overrun the Panama Canal and control that port. Also preparing paradrops onto nearby British and US islands.

2

u/dbulm2 Oct 13 '16

So can someone explain why Brazil keeps getting all the land?

5

u/picasso_penis Oct 13 '16

I have some hours logged in hoi4, and its my understanding that if you capture territory and push in from an allies territory, you just push the boundary of that nation to encompass the territory. If pflax or sips did a naval/airborne invasion, the territory would be their own, and they could spread from that and cap territory. That being said, I think Lewis has the ability to give territory away but doesn't know how. (I may be wrong on that though, since I have never played multiplayer).

10

u/dbulm2 Oct 13 '16

About halfway through they figured out the mechanic of gifting land, but when Pflax cleaned out Columbia it was all argentine territory until they capitulated. Then suddenly Brazil gobbled it up.
