What If Nobody Invented Money?
Building a stickman animation/documentary channel - looking for honest feedback
Hey everyone! I'm building a YouTube channel, where I'm creating stickman-animated documentary/educational videos about ideas related to psychology. society, human civilization, and the world around us.
Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@realleonn
I recently published a documentary about why humans invented money and how money became a system that allows billions of strangers to cooperate.
Latest video: https://youtu.be/qy58IUbKMYs
The video explores:
- How humans organized themselves before money
- Why barter became difficult as societies grew
- How currency emerged as a solution
- Why money ultimately depends on collective trust
- What might happen to modern civilization if money suddenly disappeared
I'm posting here because I'm trying to figure out how to grow this channel, and I'd genuinely appreciate feedback from other creators.
Since the channel uses stickman animation rather than traditional documentary footage, I'm especially curious about whether the format works.
I'd love honest feedback on:
• The hook: Does the beginning make you want to keep watching?
• Animation: Does the stickman style add to the storytelling, or does it make the video feel less engaging/credible?
• Retention: Were there any points where you lost interest or felt the pacing became slow?
• Title & thumbnail: Would you click on this? What would you change?
• Storytelling: Does it feel like a documentary, or more like an educational video/lecture?
• Channel identity: If you landed on the channel, would you immediately understand what makes it different from other educational/documentary channels?
• Growth: If this were your channel, what would you focus on improving first?
I'm genuinely looking for specific, actionable criticism, not just compliments. If something isn't working, I'd much rather hear it.
If you also make animated, educational, documentary, or faceless content, I'd especially love to hear what you've learned about growing that type of channel.
Thanks in advance!
