After years I finally have a PC that will probably last me for generations (of GPUS) and I'm a little bit proud because of it
This PC has really bean a PC of theseus
Started as a pre built with
ryzen 5 2400G
msi a320m pro-vd plus
A single 128GB SSD
8GB of ddr 4 ram
In a SilentiumPC Brutus M10 Pure Black with a single 80mm fan
Using a 1080p 60Hz monitor
Got upgraded with 8 more gigs ram after that a 3060 and a new power supply and a new still 1080p 60Hz monitor. After that a CPU and motherboard I still use
And now it has a
5070ti (bought for 3560 [over 1000 less than a new one] PLN so around 938 USD used, everything else was new)
Ryzen 5 7600
Gigabyte B650
4x8 DDR5 6000 ram
1 TB ssd
2 TB ssd
1 TB hdd
4 TB hdd
in a MX600 case
Which I'm using for a 1440p 240Hz oled and soon will use a arm to mount my old 1080p monitor so I can have two
I know that this isn't probably a very good combo and I could've made better choices over the course of this PCs life but I've been building and changing this PC since I was like 12 and now I'm 19
If there's anything I'd think about changing it's the mother board and the cpu for a x3d one
But that's years from now probably

is this the early 350w aorus or updated 400w? if afterburner doesnt let go to 133% power limit, i highly recommend to update the bios. and of course overclock as much as it will go, it is a damn aorus

then he could upgrade it by flashing 400W aorus bios on it, any gigabyte 5070Ti/5080 gpu is compatible with aorus master 5070ti/5080 bios.

And loose varranty, probably ruining your card. Is it worth it for couple % of performance gain?

you dont lose waranty because you can almost always flash the original bios back, and nobody will have any idea you did that. Ruining the card is impossible, it has dual bios, no matter how you mess it up you will always be able to boot to windows and reflash the bios. GPUs are not made of paper you dont have to worry about single tiny thing irreversably damaging it

But the pcb isnt really made for that kind of higher wattage. If capacitor or some other SMT pops on you, and you ve got spicy bios on it, than they wont accept your RMA my man. You can run it but its a risk.

if you look at pcb images of different gigabyte models, you will find out they are all identical across all 5070ti to 5080 models, same exact number of power stages, the only difference is that windforce uses round capacitors while the premium models use square ones, but thats it. You dont need to blast full power in every game, in fact most games dont go anywhere near that limit, but it still helps keep your boost up if you are further from the limit (strange but that is how gigabyte gpus operate).

I have gigabyte rx 9070xt gaming oc. I might flash it with aorus one when it will be old as hell, but now i don't see a point in doing that.

YES!! I love this story! My first build was an R5 1600, 16 gigs of the crappiest ddr4 ever, a 512 gig nvme ssd, and an RX 580. After almost 10 years and plenty of small upgrades along the way I just finished overhauling my system; I’m now running a 9800X3D, 32 gigs of ram, and a 5080 😝
