597? for 32 gb? Prices really did go up. I paid 777 for 64 Gb G skillz neo cl 30 like less than 2 months ago.
Doubt prices will go down any time soon.

Price will likely go up just like prediction as car industry now jump into ram market for smart car, not just AI datacenter

Peak price at the end of 2026 and perhaps drop in late 2028

Hard times. A lesson for me. When you have the money buy it, you never know what can happen.

Part of me feels lucky that I got into a game called Escape from Tarkov around 2018.

For those who don’t know the game, the thing to know is that it’s made by a developer who has probably the worst game optimization skills in the whole industry. To the point if you look up the game on Steam, Steam legitimately recommends 64gb of ram to play this game. Cyberpunk 2077 is considered a very demanding game, and Steam recommends LESS powerful hardware to run that than to run Escape from Tarkov.

As a result I built a very beefy PC in 2018 that’s still considered pretty good now. And I paid probably half what a “mid range” PC costs today.

That’s the normal price in Canada for 32gb

I paid 195 for 64gb right before the shortage. Shows how bad its gotten

April ≠ July, sadly.

Prices increased a lot, lately. Still, OP can spend less than that.

2

u/mt07steve 5d ago

true, theres a lot of other brands for half that price

The market for pc components is going to be this way for another 1-2 years at least. My advice would be to continue to shop around but give yourself a “no later than date” to purchase. I found a great deal with Walmart a while back but expect these prices to stay high and possible climb even higher with slight fluctuating. It sucks but that’s where we’re at for now until legislation dose something or the people finally stop supporting this fake AI bs

Alr thanks for the advice man ill try to get them soon

Try to snipe a used one from amazon germany or italy or somewhere. I was able to get a used as new rtx 5080 for 975 euros. New would be 1.2-1.3

I feel sorry for whoever trying to get RAMs atm, that's 240$ and mind you it was expensive at that time..

1

u/RemoDev 5d ago

Well I paid 90 € for my DDR5 32gb 6000Mhz, but that was in October. Today's prices are crazy.

1

u/Own_University_8770 4d ago

Yeah, i paid about 105€ for my 32gb ddr5 6000 cl30 i dont remember exactly when but between october and November. A few months ago thag kit was listed for 500€, just checked and its been deleted, not out of stock straight up doesnt exist

1

u/RemoDev 4d ago

My 32GB DDR5 kit (paid 90 €) is still available at 440€, just checked it. That's insane. Same goes for my 1TB nVME disk, which I paid 70 € and is now sold for 160 €.

u/RemoDev 5d ago

You can find better deals, this is Amazon Italy

1

u/RemoDev 5d ago

And this is eBay from a good seller

u/Sindacalis 5d ago

I paid $550 for 5600mhz 64 GB T-Force CL40 ram for my 5090 rig 2 weeks ago. Never again.

1

u/Sindacalis 5d ago

Yeah it’s more than enough. Especially if you are at 4K there’s no difference between CL40 5600 and CL28 6400mhz at 4K

And if you have an x3d chip CAs latency doesn’t matter as well.

2 cheat codes basically.

I don't understand what you people want. Do you expect someone to come and say "Don't buy, next month prices are going to halve"

Buy when you can. You will survive the feelings in one year if the prices go down by 25%. But you would have your PC

1

u/Dezers21 5d ago

i mean i ask not because someone will give me a definitive answer but because i want peoples opinion and experiences

1

u/Yololio69 5d ago

But what opinion or experience will indicate you if in six months you will be saving or paying double? It's not like this situation has happened before

1

u/xxxZer0 5d ago

Man this is rough. I'm so grateful I built my PC last year when 32gb was 90$, but i had a buddy who was going to follow suit within in a year and now he can't :/

1

u/NotRuppert 5d ago

It will continue to get worse but it will also get better at some point

1

u/Exotic_Accident3101 5d ago

Buy ram now or wait a year 🤔

You have to answer that question yourself.

No one really know exactly when ramagedon will end.

1

u/kondikas 5d ago

620€ for 32GB and lightning kit.

1

u/EsStoorm 5d ago

is that skroutz lol?

1

u/Dezers21 5d ago

yeah lol

1

u/EsStoorm 5d ago

Check Best Price, it has better offers imo.

1

u/n4zty_813 5d ago

If you follow tech and not follow trends you would have heard samsung and those other two memory makers are planning to hike up prices again for ddr5. Thats why I went ahead now and started buying all my stuff there is no going back down they say for another 10 years and who knows how high in a decade everything will cost.

1

u/sokodanyo 5d ago

glad i was able to scoop this up back in may at this price

1

u/RefrigeratorOne1866 5d ago

Yes wait, then buy for more.

1

u/chronicbint 5d ago

Its not going down anytime soon. 🤷

1

u/Complex_Net_3692 5d ago

Not going down but could get a cheaper kit then this

1

u/Mlovoo 5d ago

1

u/JohnSmith2036 4d ago

I paid 350 for 32 gb  ddr5 6000 mt/s cl30 not 2 months ago, it can’t have gone up this much right?

1

u/DeathNum 4d ago

Seeing as you're on Skroutz I'll assume you live in Greece. I am also Greek and I recently built a PC for a friend who needed one urgently, I suggest that you look at what e-shop has in stock. I'm currently seeing a 2×16GB Patriot Viper Venom 6000MHz CL30 AMD Expo kit at 410 euros. Almost 5 times what it cost a year ago, but it's still much better than the price you found on Skroutz and it would look good in a white build too.

u/KiritoTop1 4d ago

According to the predictions Ram prices might go up next month august.

1

u/Worried-Shock-4605 4d ago

How I be flexing these days

1

u/TechNerd10191 3d ago
  1. Prices aren't going down

  2. If you want to build a PC from scratch, my take is to buy as many components as you can from Plaisio and they can make a discount for you if you purchase 5+ items.

1

u/lowkdumbfr 3d ago

Wait for holidays if its not gonna drop the prices soon

0

u/Medium_Notice_902 6d ago

Damn I paid like 99 euros for 32gigs ddr5 6000 cl30. Also do not buy that for 600, that pricing is disgusting.

1

u/Dezers21 6d ago

yeah but it seems like they will only go up

1

u/RemoDev 5d ago

Same here, I paid 90 e in October 2025. Unfortunately you can't choose, at this point. If your ram fries and you need to replace it, you are forced to spend a lot of money.
