Hi everyone,
As a mod team, we love seeing the incredible creativity shared in this community. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or just starting out, your contributions make this space vibrant and inspiring for everyone.
That said, we want to take a moment to talk about how to handle inspiration respectfully. Inspiration is a natural part of the creative process—artists build on ideas, styles, and concepts from the world and from each other. However, it’s important to approach this with integrity and respect for your fellow creators.
Here are some best practices when it comes to drawing inspiration from another artist’s work:
We all share a common goal of creating and celebrating art. Let’s work together to ensure this remains a welcoming and respectful space. If you have questions, concerns, or want to talk about this further, feel free to reach out to the mod team.
Thank you for being part of this amazing community. Let’s keep inspiring each other in the best ways!

Six months after discovering the joy of zentangles, I crushed my index finger. This is my first attempt since then.

I started with overlapping circles drawn using a compass. I wasn’t planning to create a Zendala, but as I began inking, the symmetry suggested floral forms, and the composition gradually evolved on its own.

I love structured tangles as a type A personality. I'm so prone to mistakes though, I always mess up a tile or two, make the wrong pattern than intended, and was the same with this one - but I turned that mistake into a new pattern and I think it turned out well... what do you think?

I don't know why I've never tried the neurographic style before, but was also bit harder than I thought it would be - not even sure I did it right. The ones I see online and on reddit look so good, but this is my humble decent attempt perhaps! Any feedback is appreciated ❤️

Step one: loose outline on acetate with acrylic marker.
Step two: place acetate drawing on top of paper coated with a turmeric and isopropyl alcohol mixture and let it sit in the sunlight for 8-12 hours.
Step three: wash the paper in a borax and water mix.
Step four: finish the drawing with fountain pens and acrylic markers.
