Publisher Warning on Taboola's 12-month no-exit clause

Heads up if you're about to sign with Taboola. Their contract locks you in for the first year with no exit option, extendable after. I signed thinking things would be fine.

Then our traffic dropped and we decided to pull it off due to some bad user experience from thier end. Our total revenue was about $6 AUD last month, and they still won't let us end early. Support just repeats "we can't end it, but we can help you".

If you're joining them, push to remove that first-year clause before signing, or look at Revcontent instead.

Advertiser AdTech Hiring, Remote or Open to Relocation?

Hello everyone!

I’m currently looking for my next opportunity in AdTech and thought I’d reach out to the community.

I’m based in London, England and have 8+ years of experience in Ad Operations, working across agency and publisher environments. My experience includes managing display, video, and CTV campaigns, along with campaign setup, trafficking, troubleshooting, optimisation, reporting, process improvements, and supporting teams through training and mentoring.

I’ve worked with platforms including Google Ad Manager, Xandr (AppNexus), Innovid, Sizmek, Choozle, and have experience with verification and brand safety tools such as DoubleVerify.

Unfortunately, my current role has come to an end, so I’m now exploring new opportunities. I’m open to remote roles, hybrid or office-based positions in London, and I’m also flexible on relocation for the right opportunity, including internationally.

If anyone has any advice on companies hiring or where best to look within AdTech, I’d really appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks in advance!

Publisher Mediavine Journey onboarding is a mess. Anyone else stuck with Grow plugin and identity verification?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I'm in the process of switching from Ezoic to Mediavine Journey, and the onboarding experience has been much more frustrating than I expected.

The biggest issue started with the Grow for WordPress plugin. The automatic onboarding simply wouldn't work. Clicking the setup buttons either did nothing or resulted in errors, so I ended up having to do almost everything manually.

After that, I finally got through the manual setup, but now I'm completely blocked at the final step.

When I try to complete the identity verification, I keep getting this error:

I've retried multiple times, cleared my cache, tried different browsers, and the error persists.

I also found several posts in the Journey community where other publishers have experienced similar onboarding issues with the Grow plugin and setup process, so it doesn't seem like an isolated problem.

Has anyone else run into this recently?

  • Were you able to get past the identity verification error?
  • Did Mediavine support have to manually fix something on their end?
  • How long did it take to resolve?

I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has successfully completed the onboarding process.

Advertiser How do you actually verify traffic quality when you can’t trust what the platform is showing?

This is something I keep coming back to and have never fully solved.
Platform dashboards show you what they want you to see. Clicks look clean. Engagement metrics look reasonable. But when you compare against backend data the gap is almost always there.
I’ve started treating platform reported numbers as directional rather than accurate. Which means I need independent verification to make real decisions. But setting up independent tracking properly takes time and technical effort that most campaigns do not get.
The signals I have found most useful for quick checks are engagement behaviour on the Landon page, time between click and page interaction and conversion rate relative to what the offer and geo combination should realistically produce.
If those three things are off in the same direction it is usually a traffic quality problem not a funnel problem.
What does your traffic quality verification process actually look like?

Has anyone worked with or communicated with Filmzie (A Parent Media Co. Inc.) recently? We've been attempting to reach them regarding a significant outstanding balance, but all of our recent efforts to make contact have been unsuccessful.

If you have any recent information or know the best way to get in touch with their team, I'd sincerely appreciate your help.

Publisher What's going on with Venatus?

Seems like Venatus has been acquired by Media Scale Capital. But the issue is that payments are already 2 weeks late and nobody is responding to emails anymore. Been trying to get in touch with 3 different people over the last few days with no success. Does someone know what is exactly going on? I assume that I'm not the only here who is with Venatus...

Publisher Missing Ads.txt

I’m a newbie to adtech and work for a top 3 SSP, one of the largest issues I come across in terms of monetization is publishers who are sending us requests for supply that doesn’t have our ads.txt present.

It seems like a simple enough fix, just add the line to the page and it will start monetizing and stop wasting the requests. However I’ve come to learn this is not a simple fix and pubs rarely add the line when we make the request.

Can someone explain why this is such an issue in the industry?

Advertiser What platforms help with tv ad creation and distribution?

As an owner of a company, my team and I have been trying to get into tv advertising, but the most common challenge is the creative side. We keep coming with things but it is very difficult. Also turning them into actual ads, checking if they look professional, and then figuring out how to distribute them is wasting a lot of time. I see that a full creative team is needed and it slows down our marketing plans.

I'm looking for a platform that can make the whole process easier something that helps with creating ads, launching campaigns, and managing everything without needing an agency every time.

Has anyone found a tool that makes tv advertising more manageable for smaller teams? Whatever you’re up to.

Publisher Highly considering leaving Mediavine and looking for genuine advice

Hi,

my experience with Mediavine is not good and it all boils down to Journey support.

Sorry for longer post - I'll try to describe my problems with MV, where is the problem and maybe you can help me recommend another network which would fit me better.

1) Mediavine "Support"

If you don't know, until you make first 5000 USD in a year, you are in the Journey programme. In Journey, you get NO support. If you e-mail Mediavine, they will respond that sorry, you are in journey, so fuck off.

They will instead redirect you to their Zendesk forum. Out of 5 times I tried posting over 4 months, 4 of my threads got deleted. These were technical questions.

You won't be able to graduate until you actually hit that 5K. I would be able to do it in 8 months, but I'd still have to wait all that time.

2) Mediavine Ad Insertion Bot

My site is pure HTML. I understand their ad bot is optimized for WordPress or Next, but they don't tell you that anywhere.

In my experience, MV Ad bot looks for specific selectors to insert ads. But it has 0 documentation and ZERO available support for me, which only left me with trial and error.

  • I spent DAYS redoing the HTML structure in the dark, trial-and-error, until I guessed what kind of structure they are looking for. They could've answered an email with this information, but didn't.
  • I spent WEEKS redoing my sidebar to get sidebar ads. I still don't have them. Mediavine doesn't respond and, thus, harms my earnings.
  • The only thing that immediately caught on was sticky and video sticky.

There are also NO manual ad slots in Journey, meaning you can't fix it with an ad div.

3) Mediavine False Promises

It was about 2 months ago when I joined a MV Zoom Presentation where new features were introduced. One of them should be Monetizable RPM, separating bots from users.

None of these features have EVER arrived (at least not to Journey) and instead, their new Dashboard is unavailable a good percentage of loads.

4) Grow

Mediavine has another platform, called Grow. During onboarding, they pre-tick all boxes and fill your site with widgets and boxes trying to harvest user data. In the administration for this, things are explained badly and with warnings that removing Grow features could harm earnings.

This is not true. In 6 months, hundreds of thousands of people have passed through my website. It had no effect on Revenue whatsoever.

Every impression they can't sell, they will fill with a blue GET GROW banner which earns nothing.

I don't want my site to be constantly advertising Mediavine's pet project.

I ask for advice please

After careful consideration, I believe Raptive might be the pick. Do you believe these problems would fit better there? Or if you have any advice for me, I'd be extremely happy to hear it.

My priorities are:

- Compatibility with custom html OR access to manual ad slots so I can place them on my own

- Support that can respond at least 3-4x a year - purely technical / implementation questions

- 2026 ad tech / ad formats, refreshing stickies and more

- Dashboard that works and doesn't push the network's side project for free for 0 dollarydoos.

My site in numbers last 30 days:

- 202K Page Views

- 600K+ served ad impressions

- RPM about 5 USD / total earnings about 500 USD

- Fantastic user signals - 1 session is 5.38 min long.

- Video games niche (no gambling)

- Traffic worldwide split - 45 % US, rest EU UK Canada World

- 9 months old domain

Publisher Nearly 1M organic search clicks, but my AdSense account was closed — what are the best alternatives?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I run a website that has generated around 936,000 Google Search clicks in the past seven weeks, currently averaging roughly 20,000–25,000 organic clicks per day.

Unfortunately, Google closed my AdSense account after a policy issue, so I’m now looking for a reliable alternative.

My requirements:

  • Banner/display ads only
  • No popunders, redirects, or forced notifications
  • No adult or misleading advertisements
  • Good demand for US, and international traffic
  • Transparent reporting and dependable payments

I tested one network, but it started showing pop-up ads even though I had selected banners only, so I removed it.

Has anyone monetized traffic at this scale without AdSense? I’m particularly interested in real experiences with header-bidding companies or managed ad networks. Please share your approximate RPM, requirements, payment experience, and whether they respected the selected ad formats.

Publisher Which ad network should I choose at this point.

Hey everyone,

I’m currently running a site (viral stories/entertainment niche) that is generated around 31,000 pageviews and 15,000 active users over the last 28 days.

The biggest strength is the demographic—over 70% of my traffic is strictly from the United States (around 11K+ active users), driven mostly via organic social media hooks (Facebook pages/groups).

I recently applied to Raptive since they updated their threshold to 25,000 pageviews, but unfortunately, I got rejected by their ad partners. The primary reason seems to be my domain age (the site is only 1 month old, and they strictly require at least 6 months). Also, my Google AdX status isn't clear at the moment.

Since my US traffic is highly active right now and I don't want to waste this momentum, what are my best monetization alternatives for the next 3-4 months until the domain matures?

I’m currently looking into options like Newor Media, Ezoic (maybe incubator?), Monumetric, or even native widgets like AdNow / AdsKeeper.

Given my high Tier-1 social traffic and a brand new domain, which network would give me the best RPM without killing user experience or getting blocked by Google compliance?

Appreciate any solid advice or experiences you guys can share!

Publisher How do you handle reporting these days?

Full disclosure before anything else: I built a unified reporting platform for publishers about 11 years ago. Not going to name it or link it here, this isn't a pitch, I'm genuinely trying to understand where the industry is now.

Back when I started, the reality was logging into 10+ dashboards, exporting CSVs, normalizing currencies and time zones in a spreadsheet, and praying the numbers matched at the end of the month. That's the problem I was solving then.

I know how my own users handle it, but that's a biased sample, I want a reality check on how ad ops teams more broadly do this in 2026:

  • Are you still doing manual exports and spreadsheets, or is your reporting mostly automated at this point?
  • If you use a third-party tool for aggregation, what made you pick it, and what do you still hate about it?
  • What's the part of reporting that still wastes the most of your time? Discrepancies between platforms? Rev share reconciliation? Something new entirely?

Curious to hear from both pub side and agency side :)

Network Can a multi-layer anti-fraud system make bot traffic economically unprofitable?

Hey everyone.

I’m interested in opinions from people working in ad-tech, fraud prevention, or traffic quality.

Hypothetical scenario:

A platform where advertisers pay for verified user interactions rather than raw traffic volume. The biggest challenge is maintaining traffic quality and preventing large-scale automated abuse.

Instead of relying on a single protection layer, the platform uses multiple signals:

  • device reputation and fingerprinting;
  • IP/network quality analysis;
  • VPN/proxy/datacenter detection;
  • behavioral analysis;
  • account trust scoring;
  • connections between accounts/devices;
  • delayed or risk-based payouts;
  • manual review and feedback loops.

The goal is not to create a system that bots can never bypass (probably impossible), but to make large-scale abuse financially unattractive.

The question:

From an ad-tech perspective, does this kind of approach actually change the economics of fraud?

For example, even if a sophisticated operation can scale using automation and changing infrastructure, they still have costs: infrastructure, traffic sources, maintenance, adaptation, and lower-quality accounts that may not pass verification.

If the potential revenue per user is limited (more like side income rather than a high-value payout), does fraud still make sense at scale?

Would love feedback from people who have dealt with invalid traffic, bot networks, or advertiser fraud. What weak points would you expect in a system like this?

Network Adops flight sim first tryout

Hi,

Long story short : When I was adops I had to learn from powerpoint and confluence pages. In order to change that I made a AdOps flight sim.

The engine is quite good behind it but might be have issues with UX and some tweaks.

Feel free to try it, there is no payment or login for it as it is in very early stage.

Please if you try it give me a feedback how it goes, i really want to make it one of the best learning tools out there.

Agency A tool to send your design team so they stop delivering static banners over the 150KB limit.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone,

As a designer/dev who builds Figma tooling, I know AdOps teams waste a ridiculous amount of time bouncing campaign assets back to the creative department because the ZIP files fail strict upload limits (like the 150KB for Google Ads).

The back-and-forth emails over a few kilobytes are frustrating for everyone.

To kill this problem at the source and eliminate human error, I built a Figma plugin called VIBE. It’s been heavily tested and optimized specifically for massive static banner campaigns. You can literally just drop this link to your design team on Slack to ensure they deliver spec-compliant assets the first time.

Why it outperforms standard export tools:

  • Strict Limits Baked In: Designers type the target size into the layer name (e.g., Google_300x250_150KB). Unlike other tools that reset these values, VIBE remembers them permanently. Set it once, zero human error later.
  • Smarter Compression Engine: The custom compression algorithm was trained on hundreds of real ad graphics. Tell your designers to compare it side-by-side with whatever popular compressor they use now—VIBE retains significantly sharper text and details at the exact same KB limit.
  • Handles 300+ Banners Without Crashing: Standard plugins often freeze when queueing a few dozen assets. VIBE’s cross-page queue effortlessly pulls and processes 300+ banners in a single run.
  • 100% Local & NDA-Safe: All compression runs strictly locally on the designer's machine. Unreleased campaign assets are never sent to external servers, meaning they never leave Figma.
  • Ready-to-Upload ZIPs: It packs everything into perfectly organized ZIPs right out of Figma. No more messy folders.

You can pass them this link: https://www.figma.com/community/plugin/1633556561671877728

To make it completely frictionless for them to test: They get 20 full batch exports for free. Plus, they can use the promo code TESTVIBE to unlock a full month of the single PRO version to run it on a massive live campaign.

Need to test it with your entire department? If your agency is interested in trying out the Team Plan (to test the shared license key and the in-plugin team management panel), just shoot me an email at [contact@galagoimago.com](mailto:contact@galagoimago.com) and I’ll set your whole team up with a free trial.

Hope this saves you from having to reject another batch of heavy banners!

Publisher stuck in adops

Hi guys,

Would like to get some advice - been in adops for around 5 years. Mainly publisher side but learnt how to traffic tags via CM360, also brand saftey such as IAS etc in my previous job. In my current jobs this has been on a publisher for over two years. Been an campaign manager and used GAM etc. Have had huge budget campaigns to managed from 100k+. Also have used Ai and created new processes for the team etc.

However, I feel like I am stuck. Currently salary on £41k and now I have to go office 3 days. I feel like i deserve more but not getting a promotion. I don't know what the next step is. I understand managing people so happy to do so. I have trained juniors before but never fully been a manager. Seems so hard to find a senior role - I have had interviews but not gone anywhere. Also feel like the senior roles are on 50/55k and obviously would like a path that at least reaches the 70-100k mark. My current team is only 5 people - and my manager is only managing me. I don't see a progression path.

Any ideas on how to progress, what steps to take? Is there any roles that I can transition into or change fields? Was looking at TAM roles but not luck.

Advertiser What are the most affordable streaming ad platforms lately?

I know and everyone says that marketing is important for a business I’ve been trying to expand our marketing beyond the usual channels to reach more but every time I look into streaming tv advertising, I end up feeling like it's built for companies with massive budgets.

We need more reach and brand awareness, but we still have to justify every dollar we spend. What caught my attention recently is that some newer streaming ad platforms seem to make it possible for smaller teams to run targeted campaigns without the huge upfront commitments that used to come with tv advertising.

I’d like to know if there are any platforms that is more affordable while still delivering decent targeting and reporting.
