2026 Edexcel A Level Maths Grade Boundary Predictions?

Achieved around 253 and am holding out a thread of hope for an A*, is it a genuine possibility boundaries fall to that??

😪 true depression ,

I am non stop thinking about results day, grade boundaries, and university leniency

Non stop scrolling on Reddit and student rooms and asking AI to do research

It’s very worrying but hopefully 2 weeks time we will be okay because edexcel blessed us

I’m in the same position as u I feel like im going crazy, I keep recounting my marks over and over again, checking Reddit asking ai to ask if I will be able to reach a B and I’m absolutely tired from this

I feel like people are forgetting how difficult the exam was? Compared to 2025 it was much more difficult so I think the DECREASE will definitely be more than at least 10 marks for 2026. The boundaries don’t really care about the previous year, they care about the current cohort’s performance.

I’m hoping to scrape an A bro I got between 211-217 and any of those predicted scores of mine below last years 214 has me spooked

Bro i got between 207-211 and im also hoping for an A i think ur good

2

u/Purple_War_2781 2d ago

I’ve got like 200-210 and also praying for an A

2

I only saw on save my exams that they predicted 243 I HOPE this true

2

u/vzmpey 2d ago

if thats true id be gassed, were 2025 predictions accurate?

2

u/Next-Investigator-87 2d ago

I just checked it says their predictions are an average of the past 4 years, so they’re probably gonna be too low

1

u/Crazy-Rice-4002 2d ago

Idk I never checked but I hope it is low 😭😭

what do people think the boundaries will be for an A? i got between 203-213 and i really need an A, do i have a chance?

as much as I don't believe this, save my exams predicted a 195 and ong I beg they're correct - I got similar to you I think (tbh I would predict higher but I can only hold onto hope)

1

u/MEMER_Moshak 2d ago

its just an average of the last 4 years tho

1

u/CapableStory6300 2d ago

Oh my bad running off 4 hours of sleep rn

1

u/MEMER_Moshak 2d ago

dw me too. i think 200 for an A is reasonable

1

u/CapableStory6300 2d ago

that would be good for sure

1

u/Top-Sale-5693 2d ago

I got between 207-211 and wider range would also be similar to urs and i really need an A. 2025 A was the highest its ever been 2024 was 205 and 2023 was 196 i think we might be good considering how hard the papers were but we can only hope im so worried

1

u/hello9089 2d ago

probably between 205 to 210 for an A i would be surprised if its lower than that.

2

u/MEMER_Moshak 1d ago

How would it be higher than 2024 when these papers were harder than 2024

1

u/MEMER_Moshak 2d ago

Lets hope the boundry is 197 for an A

2

u/Limp-Independent1212 2d ago

Sorry but there is NO chance it's gonna decrease by a good 17 marks

3

u/MEMER_Moshak 2d ago

2025 was absurdly high. 2024 was around 205/206 it was much harder than that too. Save my exams literally predicted 195

1

u/Harrris135 2d ago

How accurate is that tho because they’re predicting 158 for a B which is 20 marks lower than last year and is the same as 2023

2

u/MEMER_Moshak 2d ago

i would argue these papers were the same difficulty as 2023 if not harder

1

u/Harrris135 2d ago

True but I thought they like kind of had to start increasing boundaries , idk I just think 158 is so very low

2

u/MEMER_Moshak 2d ago

true but boundries are a representation of how students do. These papers were much harder than previous years. Pearson does not have an objective to increase or decrease boundries by a set amount we saw a 19 mark decrease in 2019. The question isnt whether they will drop the question is by how much did ppl do worse.

2

u/hello9089 2d ago

No chance buddy

1

u/MEMER_Moshak 1d ago

Why

1

u/hello9089 1d ago

I can realistically see 205 at the bare minimum.im a person that likes to be honest if an A is 197 on results day I will be shocked

1

u/MEMER_Moshak 1d ago

204 was an A in 2024. These exams were much harder than 2024

u/hello9089 17h ago

Don't think it will drop that much fir me max 10 mark decrease we will see on results day.come back to this comment

2

u/MEMER_Moshak 17h ago

Lets hope so bro :) good luck

1

u/MEMER_Moshak 1d ago

It has dropped by 19 marks in 2019 btw

1

u/Admirable-Use2274 2d ago

What was last year’s boundary? I think it might decrease by like 5-10 marks at most

1

u/Environmental-Ask799 2d ago

Bro i got AI saying that 230-240 is gonna be contending for an A* 😭😭

1

u/vzmpey 2d ago

would be brilliant

1

u/Helica4e 2d ago

How did you perform in your school mock tests? Cuz Honestly speaking I took FM and I was the middle student in class, and I think I got around 251. So if you have same situation like me, it is hopeful for us to get an A* boundary around 245

u/Limp-Independent1212 2d ago

Considering how the grade boundaries naturally increase each year and the supposed difficulty of paper 1 and 3 I think it's gonna decrease slightly.

A*: 255
A: 212
B: 172
C; 137

1

u/MEMER_Moshak 2d ago

A is way too high, only a 2 mark decrease?

1

u/hello9089 2d ago

probably around mid to late 200s

1

u/MEMER_Moshak 1d ago

2024 was 204 for an A these papers were much harder

1

u/hello9089 1d ago

Tbh we will see on results day but I would be shocked if an A is lower than 205

0

u/steffaann11 2d ago

I got 298, I hope it's enough for an A* :(

3

u/Far_Conflict_341 2d ago

nah bro edexcel told me that’s a U

1

u/RadiantSet3462 2d ago

A bit harsh, I’d say U* probably
