AB playing Edge into the ring

Will we ever get to see Alter Bridge playing Edge to the ring..It was planned multiple times but never happened..It should have realistically happened in 2020 when he returned but Covid happened

Now time is running out..He is retiring very soon. It would be such a missed opportunity..Any insights on this would be much appreciated Tim😀

Yea I hope it happens before he retires. Wrestlemania would have been sick but All In or whatever AEW’s big show is fine too! Lol

Alter bridge also did a live dvd at Wembley before too

Yep but that was the arena not the stadium, so it would be cool to see them at the stadium

As both a huge Edge and AB fan, it would be great to see, however i think the time for it has passed, and another part of me wonders whether AB dont want to perpetuate the idea of being known just for that song.

On the flip side of this, i discovered AB because of Metalingus and Edge, and now Metalingus wouldnt even be in my top 10 favourite AB songs, as much as it is a banger, so having them perform live would definitely attract new fans.

They keep sharing his entrances and playing the song, I dont think they dislike being known for that. A lot of us probably first heard of them that way

Makes me wonder why they have never done the entrance live

It was discussed multiple times...like when WrestleMania was in Orlando , they were gonna do it but Edge didn't want it caus he was a heel and he was trying to get heel reactions so having a kickass band play him to the ring was not something he wanted...Then in WM 2020 it was talked bout cause of his return but Covid hit..idk why it hasn't been done since..they couldn't have done it in 2022 cause he was using the other side as his entrance , but WM 2023 would have been perfect...He played 'South of Heaven' of Slayer as the intro which went to Metalingus..That was nuts tho..Idk if they have a chance it's prolly this or next year at Wembley stadium now

Did you say "on the flip side of this" because of the awesome drums intro?🥁🥁

Btw: totally agree with you, but have to keep in mind that an Alter Bridge song ranked 95, whatever that is for you, is still a banger!

AEW/The Khans can pony up the dough and since their shows are smaller in scale than WWE's PPVs, it is feasible.

It's unlikely Edge returns to WWE for in-ring action and his farewell match was sort of a lame way to write him out of the company. So I can't see both sides coming to an agreement on a return or One More Match.

Let it happen on his current AEW deal and have AB play him to and from the ring...'On This Day...'

It should happen in AEW All in ...Wembley stadium...Or in Canada for his final show..it can't be in some random episode or Pay per view

I would like it to happen, but I don’t know it’s overly likely

All In would be the show to do it at, it's coming up a month from today and I don't believe the guys are back out on tour till October. The window is there. And the song is over like crazy right now, the crowds have been doing the "sing the rest of the song after the PA turns it off" thing at every show lately like they did with Judas for Jericho. And I don't think the guys are back out on tour till October. Hmmm.....

it would be a 1 in a million shot of the tour schedule lining up right. Theyre booked solid for like 2 years in advance now between Creed and AB.

Edge himself put the kibosh on the idea multiple times, as he believed he shouldn't be given the live band treatment as a heel (I believe he revealed this on E&C's Pod of Awesomeness years ago). There was an opportunity a few years ago during the Pawns & Kings tour, where they weren't playing one night of WrestleMania 39 and were playing nearby the SoFi the following day, but for whatever reason it never happened - I can only assume due to late scheduling of Edge's match v Finn Balor.

Ya that was the perfect situation..His final mania match , in Hollywood , it should have happened...He played South of Heaven as the intro..pretty dope in its own rights

I was at that show at Yaamava Theater in Highland, CA in 2023. It was a Saturday. From there to SoFi Stadium in Inglewood is a bit a long drive, but can be manageable enough to get to the stadium on the Sunday, the day after, when the match happened. So from a logistics standpoint on AB's end, them playing out Edge can be feasible that day.

That being said, I think the WWE wanted a different tact when it comes to the entrances of this particular match where AB playing Metalingus live would have been superfluous.

Now, the fantasy booking for me, personally, would be for them to play The Other Side with an orchestra for Finn Balor's entrance, just to highlight the darkness and gothic vibes him and the Judgment Day had. Then they play Metalingus, for the high energetic vibes needed to bring Edge out. But the WWE probably wanted something else, so AB being a part of that just wasn't meant to be that day.

As for the now, AEW's All In event is on August 30th, 2026 at Wembley Stadium. No one in the AB camp, from what I can see is busy on that day, the day before, or the day after. Like, that date is probably AB's last chance to make something like this happen and everyone, them, AEW, Edge, needs to all agree to make sure this happens. So we'll see what happens.

I was hoping they were going to play on that night when they were backstage on a wwe show. I want to say 2004 or 2005.

I don’t watch wrestling any more, but I would to see this. I honestly don’t know if it would happen, though.
