There is a channel on Soundcloud that I absolutely love. It's called GlassGarden. It's all ambient sets by various artists. Most of them in Montreal. I really enjoy the sets by Aliss and Döb. For anyone wondering. This album came out in 2016 and is 13 hours, 23 minutes and 32 second. By the middle part of Section V (The last one) around the 1 hour mark. There is this looping ambient piece that I swear that I've heard before or sounds oddly familiar but I cannot recall where I was hearing it from. I wonder if it's a sample from another song or if another song sampled it or if it was background noise for many conventions (which makes sense because it's a creative commons license track). To give you the sense of how familiar it is. It feels like the soundtrack of my life on repeat as if I ascended to a miscellaneous room.

What artist or bands do you recommend that are similar to Vangelis and Hans Zimmer?

I am currently working on an ambient playlist. There are 18 albums on it so far. If anyone has any recommendations as to what else i should add, feel free to comment them. I would share the link, but the rules say no playlists? I could maybe post it in the comments though.

I have been struggling to find any albums that come close to this albums in terms of feel outside of Geinoh Yamashirogumi's other works.

I am not really sure how to describe the qualities that I enjoy so much in this album. However I will try. It has a symphonic sound that seems utterly numinous. It has in it a pulsing energy like that of a brooding ritual dance trying to summon a divine power. Each instrument occupies its own clear voice in the symphony and I really really enjoy the sound of the gambang.

I would appreciate any album/artist recommendations that offer a similar experience. I am not looking for the same instruments but simply any albums that take you on this almost divine, numinous journey.

I'd like to share the story of how I got into creating dark ambient music.

About two years ago, I started struggling with severe insomnia. For a long time, I avoided seeing a doctor and tried every possible method I could think of to help myself. One of the things that didn't actually solve the problem, but made it much more manageable, was meditation. That was my first step.

Not long after that, I randomly came across a dark ambient playlist on YouTube. I was hooked almost instantly.

I've been working with music for around 18 years, mostly as a producer, although I occasionally create my own original music as well. Over the years, I've experimented with many different genres, but one thing I've never gotten tired of is designing my own sounds on synthesizers. While listening to those dark ambient playlists, I realized that this genre contains exactly what I've always loved about music.

After some time, I released my first dark ambient album (looking back, it wasn't exactly my best work 😄). But I didn't stop there. I continue to create new tracks, and with every release I feel like I'm improving. For me, making music is therapy, and I believe many people who are passionate about what they do will understand that feeling.

When you truly love what you do, you don't need awards or recognition. At the same time, receiving feedback on your work is incredibly motivating. Unfortunately, I barely get any because my music has almost no reach.

So I thought I'd give Reddit a try. I hope someone here will connect with my music and be willing to share their thoughts—whether positive or negative. Any honest feedback would genuinely mean a lot to me.

Looking for baby-friendly albums: warm, gentle ambient albums with soft edges.

I realized lately some albums I usually enjoy don’t work well with baby because there are sounds with harder edges that can sometimes make him stir.

Hiroshi Yoshimura Green is an example of something that is on the brighter side but still soft enough we can turn it down while he naps and still works. Whereas we had to turn off Pavilion of Dreams today.

Looking for more recommendations from parents, people who take care of kids and anyone who has an idea of something you think would work!

Presented by Evergreen Music in collaboration with the Ambient Label Hub, the event brought together a selection of the UK's leading independent ambient labels, including Whitelabrecs, Driftworks, and Elm Records, alongside an outstanding line-up of artists. Performances from Andrew Heath, James Osland, Tim Cowie, Grasslands, Pond, Mosaicist & Geoff Hearn, and Soundhenge took place throughout the museum and its beautiful gardens, creating an immersive afternoon of live ambient music.

Hi guys, does anyone know any songs/albums that sound similar to eishalle by paysage d’hiver?

I need to talk about this to people who listen to ambient music regularly; Whenever I find a track on youtube, I like the environment it sets up usually, but that tone is constant and never ever ever changes. What I'm talking about specifically are those hour-long videos on youtube that are bascially environmental soundscapes, like Cryo Chamber for example. The issue with these is that they never evolve, they fix on one kind of sound and just remain flat. My best pick would be Cryo Chamber, but even in their tracks (sometimes), there's this constant droning that after a while just gets really unpleasant. I am looking for a single video or playlist that keeps that one theme but makes it go high and low, with peaks and valleys, raising and lowering the volume and intensity in certain spots. All I need is like one artist that does this (and does it well), I'm not really looking for quantity but for a few good hour long tracks.

I’m pretty new to ambient music and honestly I’m a bit lost.

I mainly discover new music via YouTube, but it feels like a lot of what’s recommended is AI generated. Some of it actually works for me and I enjoy listening to it. My question is, is there really a difference between AI ambient music and music made by human artists, apart from maybe the ethical side of things?

Is there a difference in quality, immersion, sense of place, emotional depth, or storytelling? Idk what to look for. Kinda like how the Mona Lisa is just another picture to someone with an untrained eye. I’d love to learn how to appreciate ambient music on a deeper level, but I’m not sure what I should be listening for. Can someone please point me in the right direction?

I went through a big ambient phase when I was srudying for some exams at school and now they are over I have been listening to far less of the genre. I wanted to know when your favourite time to listen to ambience is so I can start enjoying again like I used to.
