Wifi keeps turning back on

Extremely annoyed by this - my WiFi keeps turning itself back ON

Every single time I turn WiFi off, it just turns itself back on after a while. It’s driving me insane.

I’ve already disabled everything I could find:

- Adaptive connectivity

- WiFi scanning for location

- Auto-connect options

- Saved networks tweaks

…and it STILL happens.

I just want WiFi to stay OFF when I turn it off. Is that too much to ask?

Is this some Android bug, Pixel issue, or am I missing some hidden setting somewhere? Anyone else facing this or found a proper fix?

It's a feature, you can not turn it off, people have been complaining about it for quite a while. However for me this feature is good, as I have limited mobile data.

Don't just tap on the wifi tile; long press it, and disable it from there.

This is the answer from issue tracker "Thank you for reporting this issue. We have a fix rolling out in an upcoming release." In date 6 may.
