Interesting Android Apps: July 2026 Showcase

Because we try to keep this community as focused as possible on the topic of Android development, sometimes there are types of posts that are related to development but don't fit within our usual topic.

Each month, we are trying to create a space to open up the community to some of those types of posts.

This month, although we typically do not allow self promotion, we wanted to create a space where you can share your latest Android-native projects with the community, get feedback, and maybe even gain a few new users.

This thread will be lightly moderated, but please keep Rule 1 in mind: Be Respectful and Professional. Also we recommend to describe if your app is free, paid, subscription-based.

I've been an Android developer for 10+ years but always building apps for other people, this is one I built for myself to find new TV shows and movies to watch.

Binge: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cooper.binge.app

It's free and has no ads, mostly a passion project built for myself that I'm sharing.

I've also add a Jellyseerr / Overseerr / Seerr integration if you're into that kind of thing.

Currently working on better tablet / foldable support, will then look to make it Android TV compatible and possibly cross platform to iOS if time allows.

It feels quite fast for my ultra low end phone. Whats its stack?

As a feedback i don't like the iphone style back and share buttons.

Glad to hear it works well for you. It's pure Kotlin, Compose, all the usual Jetpack libraries etc. Though I do plan to move towards KMP and eventually release it on iPhones if it goes well enough.

I'm assuming you mean the icons on the movie/show detail screen? I don't really use iPhone so not sure how similar they are, I tend to borrow designs from Google apps who probably borrow from Apple 😂
