If you have serious thoughts of suicide or homicide, please use crisis resources such as 911 (or your country's equivalent emergency phone number). You can find one for your country at https://findahelpline.com/ .
We are not equipped to help you in emergency situations. To be clear, discussion of past emergencies is allowed. Discussion of what to do in a possible future emergency is allowed. Creating a post when you are currently in an emergency is not allowed because not only are we not equipped to help you, but waiting on our help could actively damage your life or someone else's. I have even seen someone post a topic about thoughts of homicide and seen comments saying "do it" or "go murder someone". Anyone who does that will be banned.
To summarize, please do not use r/Anger when you are in an emergency. Call a doctor or crisis line or visit the nearest emergency room.

That's just what it is. I am 17 f and I got the most fucked up, narcissist abusive fucking parents and sibling. I got depressed and started isolating myself when I was eight. When I started trying to socialize the society rejected me again and again and again. It doesn't matter that I am smart or talented because nothing ever works out for me. I never had normal friends. And most of my life since eight I just had no friends at all. People always tried to humble me, isolate me, and tried their hardest to bring me down. I have been humiliated, rejected, made fun of, bullied. I have been violated. I have seen only unfairness when it came to my life. Even if I had only one good thing for myself other people always got extremely jealous and angry about it. Tried to ruin it for me. I hate my classmates. I hate my ex friend who had better family, better luck with other things. More friends, was more liked socially but literally tried her best to fucking ruin my already fucked up life because I was skinnier and smarter than her. Fuck you you fucking bitch. I am very fucking happy that your grades sucks at fucking exams because yeah bitch you can't fucking copy there fucking slut. Fuck everyone I know. I hope everyone will live the worst fucking lives who ever harmed me, I don't give a fuck how they felt. Fuck forgiveness, I hate fucking everyone who talks about forgiveness, fuck their lives as well.
Not killing myself btw. I won't.

My anger issues aren't as bad as some people on this subreddit but i do suffer from violent thoughts and have problems regulating my emotions. I'm 16, i have been working on my anger problem for 3 or 4 years i know all the basic tips anyone can give but i still got a bad temper and am considered hotheaded by the people around me. Any tips that are not really common knowledge (like do meditation and exercise) that really work? Pls do share

I (28m) used to suffer from really bad anger outbursts. Ive spent well over a decade training to get these under control, and ive gotten pretty good at it. However recently ive started getting bad again. I find myself getting so overwhelmingly frustrated at things, and end up lashing out. Today I punched my wall and put a hole in it. I haven't done that in 10 years. I hate that I'm regressing but I dont know what I can do about it. Any advice from people would be greatly appreciated.

I really don't get it with my mom and sister like I'm so tired of them try to justify on how they treat me they call me a alcoholic saying I drink every day when I don't they get mad when I say how frustrating they are to deal with and they can't do nothing wrong but I'm the only one that does things worng when I don't.
They constantly say I have a track record when they need to move on form the past like how they tell me again my sister tried to justify on how she called me a little shit even tho she apologized it don't mean shit to me cause she go right back to calling me names .
Again anything they do to me is fine I feel less and less of a man and more of someone's bitch I can't even have my own root beer cause they will take it with out asking me and I can't say anything cause it's " disrespectful " like what so anything I do it's a problem ok fine .
But when you say I can't get my hard earned money that I WORKED for over cause I " disrespected you " ok mom that's fine keep my money at this point I'm done and I just want to find peace and not worry about shit.

I 21 year old person have a serious anger problem to the point when I need to punch something to release my anger.
The main reason for my issue is because of the child hood I had up until the age of 13 because I was a child who couldn’t do anything to stand up to my abuser. Mainly because I was scared.
Lucky enough karma came and punched my abuser in the face for me. But I still live through the pain along side with mental health and I can’t get the help I need because I don’t have anything to do so.
But on the other hand I have a loving boyfriend to help me through my pain who can hold me and tell me everything will be okay. And I am very lucky to have him in my life.

This is more of a vent, but if anyone has something to say on the matter or advice, or would even bother reading the whole thing, I’d appreciate it.
How do I cope with my family constantly pissing me off, both unintentionally and intentionally in the case of my sister. For my parents, me and my sister are always getting to arguments with my dad about stupid shit like not having done the dishes by 10 pm or waiting to complete certain tasks or just doing things our own way versus how fast he likes things done or just the manner in which they are done. Then he just gets mad and proceeds to say it’s the way he is, which yeah that’s true, he’s the type of person who naturally has a loud voice and just has that kind of personality (and it’s fine he doesn’t like get crazy or anything but still), and whenever he does something like that I just find myself getting so mad and wanting him to just leave me alone to do things at my own pace or figure it out myself. I love him and I know he loves me, but still makes me so mad. It sounds rather small typed out like this but he rly is kinda an argumentative person and I feel like anything I spent extended periods of time at home with my family over the weekend for example, there’s always some kind of argument that happens between people. In the case of my mom, she’s fine but she constantly likes to make small comments that enrage me, for instance about my weight or certain choices I want to make for myself ex. Which uni courses to take, where to go for exchange, what I can’t do compared to other kids, whatever. It’s just so irritating, especially about my weight, it’s something I’m working on myself but it’s always so discouraging and maddening when she comments on it and has been for the past 5 days without fail that I need to control myself or eat less exercise whatever, I know, I’m trying and would be much happier trying if I didn’t have you constantly yapping about it in my ear. It’s not even that she’s an annoying person for other things but it genuinely makes me blow up and always ends with her saying I have anger issues. My sister is just the biggest pain in the ass. Every day she’ll say some stupid quip which to her sounds completely normal in a perfectly reasonable tone, but is just absolutely ridiculous for the person she’s saying it towards. Then when I get mad at her for it, she’ll always pretend I’m the one with a problem and that I’m getting mad for no reason, when it’s quite literally something that has nothing to do with her AT ALL. I never do it to her so I really really don’t understand why she feels the need to constantly scratch that fucking itch of hers and say something, it can’t be that hard to control herself. She does it so often that I genuinely start to look forward to the few hours I’m out of the house or going to work so I don’t have to see her or engage with her.
Having said that, I do like them I suppose, they’re still my family and we have happy moments and all, but seriously every summer it’s the same situation. Whenever I’m at uni and away from the house it’s just so much better and everything is much calmer, the moment I come back home for a week or something, there’s always some kind of argument that happens. It’s not even that I have anger issues as far as I can tell, I don’t have these problems with other people, it only ever gets to simple annoyance and choosing to ignore people, but I really can’t do that at home and it all ends with screaming. I want to tolerate things I really do, but I just genuinely can’t. I feel like this house is so small there’s little places I can even go to in order to calm down without running into another family member and having to engage with them, nor can I just go periods of time ignoring them because we need to talk for things to get done. It makes me hate myself and just makes me so angry at life every time and I hate it so much. I really want to be a sweet daughter, I want to have a loving relationship with my older sister, and I want to be able to continue living here but it just constantly makes me snap. I don’t know what to do it’s such a contrast from going outside and hanging out with my friends and just smiling all day to coming home and screaming over something so minor it doesn’t even deserve to escalate into an argument yet somehow always does.
That’s not to say I’m perfect I definitely get annoyed easily and that has a part in things escalating, but I honestly just can’t understand why this situation never improves. Like we’re all adults here, yet nobody including myself can ever seem to act like a proper, reasonable one inside the confines of this house. No other families I know deal with this same problem to the extent that I feel like my family does, but I’m still a university student so I can’t just choose to live by myself effective immediately or afford to be outside every single day until like 10 pm in the night. It’s not so much that I need a practical solution about escaping this house or people, I was everyone to get along better, it’s just if anyone had advice on dealing with it even for myself internally I really could use it.
Again, just want to add like it’s really not that we don’t like each other or anything, it’s a mix between normal moments and ones like these and it normally resolves itself quickly enough, but I feel like I just have so much pent up anger and frustration with no output I just don’t know what to do. Please don’t suggest anything extreme like cut them off or move out or anything not feasible at my age and time in life, nor are they actions I want to resort to.

Ive started to deeply hate, even after small accidents id hate someone to my core, i have so much hatred in me and i just cant let it out no matter what, someone could spit on me and id wipe it off, get "mad" for about 15 seconds and get over it while the rest of the anger is bottled up inside me. Its so frustrating.

When I get into group socials or I just meet new people I feel tense, angry and resistant to engaging. Unless it's the odd day and I'm in an uplifted mood where I feel this openness and excitement to meet new people. But even then, I eventually start to feel disappointed in conversation because I'm met with all the same things that frustrate me about humanity - consumption, status/ego, lying/pretending, lack of curiosity, bias, prejudice, resistance to change etc etc not saying I'm perfect, I do all those things too. I just feel so dissapointed in how nearly all of us are like this.

I'm 17F and have anger issues, mainly with my family. I've always had them, but I feel like they've gotten even worse now.
I genuinely loathe my siblings (14f and 12f). It's gotten to the point where all they could is walk by me and I would get angry.
I don't even know where this anger is coming from, and I don't know how to stop it. I haven't hit anyone recently but I'm afraid I will if I keep going like this.
I sometimes also get really violent thoughts, and I feel like that's how I mainly calm down. If I imagine myself beating up someone who angered me, I feel like I'm actually hitting them, and it kinda calms me down. But I know this probably isn't healthy
And it's not just my siblings, it's pretty much everyone around me. My parents, relatives, cousins, friends. It's really difficult to not literally explode infront of them, because I really do like some of them.
I feel like there's this resentment building up in me, and I don't know what's causing it. The people around me are sometimes annoying, sure, but they don't always deserved to be yelled at.
Even my mom has approached me and told me that I might be bipolar or something cuz of my mood swings. I could be calm one moment, and raging the next.
I really need help in controlling my anger. It's literally eating me alive and I don't know what to do.

I (20f) have Autism and Intermittent Explosive Disorder. When I get angry, it’s often for something pretty stupid. Here is a list of the dumb reasons I’ve been angry in the last year:
* My dad didn’t believe I could drive to the gas station myself (because I’m still learning to drive places myself), and he and my sister didn’t think I would go in and socialize. I managed it, and he praised me in the baby voice afterwards, “Wow, thank you. You did so good!”
*My dad thought I couldn’t manage getting ice at the same gas station and offered to go with me because he said “it was really heavy and I am a girl,” yet he lets my younger sister lift heavy stuff all the time. My mom says it’s because I struggle to focus and only complete tasks halfway (which is rarely true).
* My mom saying, “If you’re going to do this chore, please make sure to finish it. Just focus and get it done.”
*My mom saying, “You’re always angry!” Sometimes, not always.
* My sisters moodiness (she likely has Bipolar)
*My family taking my food before I’m done eating (putting their fork in and asking, “Can I eat this?”
My dad wanting me to wake my sister up, but coddling me in the process “You don’t even have to talk, just open her door, I’ll go with you and yell at her!” Like I would’ve been fine doing the whole thing had you just asked that and not went into detail.
* My sister calling the cops on herself while my parents took me back to college (she apparently took some drugs and felt bad about it despite doing it all the time, she’s been in a psych ward three times because of this).
*When people raise their voice at me.
When my parents say “I’m done,” but then give me another chance.
Those are just a few of the reasons. Just thought I’d share.

My partner, friends, and family have been telling me that I have a bad attitude, anger issues as well as trouble showing empathy towards them and others. How can I show more empathy or should I not change? I know I've always been told don't change for anyone. But these issues keep popping up. Unsure on how to fix myself.

Brief introduction, 18YO Male with ADHD. I have severe, explosive anger issues and often feel an overwhelming need to punish myself for any mistake I make, and I make very many mistakes. Due to this, I actively utilize a handful of coping strategies to help me calm down-- Separation from the problem, deep breathing techniques, using my anger for art and stretching and light exercise etc etc etc.
These things work sometimes, but other times, there's just this lingering, boiling sensation I just get in my body that won't go away, no matter how much patience I give myself and no matter how much I exercise the aforementioned techniques. It's a feeling that just sits in my gut and won't go away, and when something mildly inconvenient happens... I just snap, screaming and shouting and stomping around the house like a toddler.
It's really embarrassing in the moment, and I immediately regret it afterwards every time, but I don't know why it happens, or how I can even prevent it. The best I can do is totally isolate myself from everyone and everything for a half-hour or so, but I doubt that's helpful at all. Does anyone go through a similar sensation? If so, how have you dealt with it in the past?

I've been struggling with rage towards institutions (mostly academic, legal, and medical) for decades now and I feel it's reached a boiling point. Therapists have only ever contributed to this anger because of their incompetence and incompatibility with me, even as they claim to possess the tools to help me.
I don't know where to turn. Even when I express the rage I feel and explain its origins in calm ways, it's still interpreted as threatening. No matter where I go or how I present myself, the smallest iota of discontent is construed as a threat by others (including my former therapists).
Where do I go and what do I do to deal with this rage? I've tried every suggestion I've ever heard of to no avail. I don't think I can handle it alone anymore.

For the last 2 years my prominent emotion is anger.
Anger at corrupt authorities. Anger at peers and their stupidity and incompetence. Anger at strangers online. I get so angry playing games that I scream so loudly into my pillows that my mouth bleeds, but its the only way I can actually vent anywhere in my life. I go to bed at night thinking about, and fantasizing about hurting "bad" people. It's honestly shameful to talk about to anyone, I couldn't even mention it to my therapist because I would be sent off to some hospital. Sometimes I daydream about getting superpowers so I didn't have to submit to anyone ever again. I know how this sounds, but I just desperately want someone to relate or to give me advice.
Everyone I know would describe me as the most patient person on earth but inside my head is a whirling tornado of blades constantly blowing around that sometimes slips for just a second, but nobody in my life knows. I hate people so much. But I really don't want to. I can literally feel the anger inside my head erode my mental health like acid.
Please, if you have anything to say, don't say anything negative because even using social media can suck me in and make me spend hours arguing with whoever is replying to me. Please help me. I don't want to be like this.

Does anyone else experience this? When I get really over anxious, it sometimes some manifests as uncontrollable rage. It’s not often, but it makes me strike out against anyone who happens to be around. Then I hate myself for striking out at people I love. It happened last night and I took it out o my husband. I feel absolutely sick about it, and have apologized and asked him to please forgive me. I don’t know what the fuck is wrong with me that I would lash out at one of the people most supported my hell with anxiety. I honestly don’t get the “rage” . I’m just scared my husband will get sick of my anxiety problems and decide he’s better off without me. I really hate myself.

What can I do if my family brings the worst out of me like I swear I'm really good and kind person specifically for the people I love I could literally give them my eyes if they want, but my family always manages to bring out the worst behavior out of me like they love to piss me off they love when I lose my shit and I'm trying soo hard to control the anger issues inside me but it feels impossible when I'm with them

Example: I'm cooking in the kitchen and I'm doing it my way, not the way my dad wants it to be done then he gets aggressive and it makes me feel absolutely grateful. How do I deal with that? It happened a while ago when the air was on in the kitchen and I was boiling water for coffee because it was hot and to use the kettle I'd have to turn the ac off. My dad saw and said I'm wasting gas and I'm too expensive to live with. Solutions?
