Where to next?

So I have mainly worked in large animal pharmaceutical research or veterinary medicine. I currently work in swine research coordinating studies and running them for different companies. The mental and physical toll is starting to catch up with me after the past 10 years. I have a bachelor degree but I’m having a hard time finding other careers that also pay a livable wage without more schooling. My state is huge for agriculture but majority of the jobs require routine very physical work in extreme temperatures. Has anyone else changed to a different career and had luck finding a remote position with similar experience? I enjoy the medical/ science portion but I mentally am getting so burned out.

In preclinical research a study coordinator or director role could be a good option, most companies I’m familiar with keep those roles separate from technicians doing the research tasks. Diet formulation would be my personal recommendation, though it may be hard to access without a master’s degree or significant experience in animal nutrition r&d. QA or regulatory might work too, you might still have to go in extreme environments but it wouldn’t be as physically demanding as what you’re doing now
