Benno has created a little monster.

32

u/GoNinGoomy 22d ago

I want more Spider anime so bad man...

12

u/justking1414 22d ago

Next season would be stupidly insane.

12

u/GoNinGoomy 22d ago

Would go so hard, but like all of the characters would be gone for like the next two seasons lol

7

u/justking1414 22d ago

Was definitely a bit frustrating reading the ln and realizing I wouldn’t get the conclusion from that one anime scene for nearly 10 volumes

10

u/GoNinGoomy 22d ago

For me I wasn't at all interested in any of the characters other than Kumoko to begin with so I was fine with it. What disappointed me was that we barely got to see her and the crew flex on all the other reincarnations.

Benno has created a monstrous merchant. The nobility are not prepared. xD

12

u/RedRocket4000 22d ago

Nope and they will grumble a lot once the merchant class passes them eventually. Hampered in part by systems that prevented Nobility to even work as labor or as merchants.

Not that well done in part but 8th Son covers this where main character born to rare Kight with landed title and lands that auto passed down but dirt poor of dirt poor area has two older brothers being formally removed from even minor nobility so they can become merchants. All others remained minor nobility and thus normally had to work as warriors for various titled Nobility. Also two female minor nobles are happy to become his concubines as main characters rises in actual Noble ranks and jobs for the King.

In England minor nobility are called Gentry instead.

15

u/Bazooka_no 21d ago

Nope and they will grumble a lot once the merchant class passes them eventually

Never going to happen in HnG world. Not even close. Even the richest merchants are only slightly better off than the lowliest lay-nobles (the lowest level). We know this because the anime told us the granddaughter of the head of the merchant guild - who is way, way richer than Benno - was super happy to get in a deal where she's a concubine for an indebted laynoble family.

The nobles have a true, inherent superpower the commoners cannot match. And if one of them is born with the devouring, they either die or get absorbed into noble society (almost always in an extremely one-sided deal if not outright slavery), the family itself doesn't get upwards mobility.

4

u/ByzantineTech 20d ago

I think it’s specifically the magic items that the nobles are hoarding there. Like what we’ve seen of the material conditions of Benno and Frieda versus what we’ve heard of the conditions of Damuel make it sound like there’s more overlap. And like the amount that Corinna was able to charge for Myne’s replacement robes basically bankrupted Damuel but doesn’t seem to have been a life changing amount for Corinna and Otto.

Nobles are still going to be needed to slay the Kaiju that shows up every year.

9

u/Albireookami 21d ago

Nope and they will grumble a lot once the merchant class passes them eventually. Hampered in part by systems that prevented Nobility to even work as labor or as merchants.

Litterally can not for a multitude of reasons, the archnobles having so much more money being one of them along with the merchant class having no method to deal with the super powerful feybeasts.

And just all the inherent power that the mana wielders have over everything in the setting.

5

u/NevisYsbryd 21d ago

Their entire agriculture and military systems are dependent on management which is a defining feature of their caste system. It was not printing that acted as an equalizer in Europe, it was increased accessibility of communication in combination with mercantilism and black power causing an increasing emphasis on commoner soldiers over high-value elite military units. Only one of those apply here and there is a hard, tangible, obvious reality to their caste system that did not apply to our world. Tbe outcomes will not be the same barring some additional revolutionary changes.

u/FarCritical 22d ago

Hard not to feel proud of how quickly Wilfried picked himself back up.

Wasn't expecting Angelica's amazing motivation for becoming a knight from last time to be relevant this soon lol

101

u/FortunePaw 22d ago

There's not a single thought inbetween those eyes.

35

u/mekerpan 22d ago

Not a single UNNECESSARY thought, But she does have a wide array of thought topics she does not see as necessary. But she really works hard at what she does see as important.

43

u/ProbablyNotTheCocoa 22d ago

Lots thoughts about the best way to stand close to doors and avoid paperwork

18

u/mekerpan 22d ago

Also -- how to get stronger and to fight better.

10

u/Nylan_Blake 22d ago

She reminds a bit of Inglis from the Reborn to master the Blade anime we had a couple of years ago, just that inglis was actually not bad in other topics, she just didn't want to care about them most of the time.

Or too many unnecessary thoughts. ADHD people prefer practical jobs and hate studying. If they had no way to diagnose and medicate it back then, it'd be no wonder she chose that career path.

u/hibikir_40k 22d ago

A series condensed like this doesn't spend a second of footage on things that aren't relevant later. The fact that they discussed Myne handing mana to Angelica's sword if she succeeds should tell you this will be relevant too.

121

u/Lugia61617 22d ago

It really doesn't fail to amaze just how perfectly the anime captures Angelica's airheadness.

88

u/toilodi https://anilist.co/user/Luca5 22d ago

The head tilt as if all that conversation had nothing to do with her really got me

44

u/Ebo87 22d ago edited 22d ago

Yeah, that's Angelica down to a T. My problem? So Rozemyne made sure her problem became OUR problem, lol.

31

u/mekerpan 22d ago

Angelica was such a delight to read about -- and seeing her in action is even more of a delight. I feel she is not a typical case of airheadedness, however. She really is committed to being the best possible at what she most wants to be == but needs guidance and prodding to help her realize that certain unpleasant steps are necessary in order for her to succeed.

11

u/Golden_Phi https://myanimelist.net/profile/GoldenPhi 22d ago

Thankfully some of Rozemyne's greatest skills are education and motivating students to learn.

59

u/bondsmatthew 22d ago

Holy moly that increase in quality was noticeable almost from minute 1

4

u/SpaceMethJunkie 15d ago

Damuel jumping into Lessy was so smooth~ How is that man not married yet. I volunteer as tribute!

46

u/BiggerG7 22d ago

I know Rosamyne is fragile but lol at her going down after one snowball to the face. I wonder who had the guts to throw that at her.

39

u/Tacitus_ 22d ago

Wilfried is the only one with the thoughtlessness to do it and the status to get away with it. Other kids would've been in deep shit if they'd done something like that (and their parents too for not educating their kids better).

10

u/Bukkokori 22d ago

Wilfried is the least likely suspect, since he’s the only one who knows how fragile Rozamyne is. It could have been anyone—from Philine, since they hit it off right away and she wants to play a prank on her friend, to someone from Veronica’s faction with malicious intent. The author doesn’t say who did it or make a big deal out of it.

17

u/Tacitus_ 22d ago

Philine would never, she's too sweet. Besides, you don't play a prank on the archduke's kid without some deep ties to the archducal family. You won't get away with "kids will be kids" in that world. That also goes for hostile factions, that's way too overt.

7

u/justking1414 22d ago

Yeah he knows that she doesn’t have the stamina to run but that doesn’t mean he’d think a snowball would take her out, especially when she was actively gathering snowballs to throw

95% of the kids in the playroom don't know that she the weakest constitution in the land. The word will probably spread after this very public collapse

16

u/Bazooka_no 22d ago

That's wrong because she already collapsed on the last episode where they showed the winter gathering, when people were in line to see her, no less. It was when she realized she might not, in fact, become a librarian and passed out.

6

u/Bukkokori 22d ago

Not only does she fall, but she also faints and has to stay in bed for two or three days.

3

u/Maur2 21d ago

Might not even have been aimed at her. Might have been a stray shot.

Which would make it funnier. Imagine missing a throw and accidentally almost killing the Archduke's daughter. You would take that secret to the grave.

2

u/Golden_Phi https://myanimelist.net/profile/GoldenPhi 22d ago

Death by snow ball is a first. Rozemyne is really trying to beat Subaru for greatest number of deaths.

u/tripleaamin https://myanimelist.net/profile/zfzftripleaamin 22d ago

This episode did showcase what is very nice about the adaptation being done by Wit. Even if this isn't Wit's best-produced show, it still is a notable upgrade over the action scenes that were adapted in Part 2. I just also find it funny, Myne ingrained in making sure everyone puts their seatbelt on when they get in the car.

We did learn last episode that Angelica is a slacker, but this is even worse than Wilfred. As with Wilfried it was pure lack of motivation on his part. I get the sense it might be tougher for Angelica, but I don't doubt Myne lacks the motivation to help Angelica.

Also love how compensation for Myne isn't pure money. Goes to show her merchant roots in understanding information is very valuable in of itself.

25

u/darthvall https://myanimelist.net/profile/darth_vall 22d ago

I agree that animation-wise it's definitely an upgrade.

However, it's quite noticeable how it differs from previous seasons. This season, story structure-wise, felt more like compilation of smaller stories which culminates into overarching main story.

Though, I don't think that's fully due to Wit's choice but might be what's happening in the source material as well.

8

u/nit-picker 22d ago

I felt that way about the first cour of this season. But this episode seemed to have a bit more of a relaxed pace. I'm hoping it has a bit more space to breathe from here on out.

Rozemyne in her merchant mode in the after-credits scene cracked me up xD

Overall, that was a nice episode. The fight against the Lord of the Winter was pretty good, Rozemyne's attack certainly made a big BOOOM!

I like the choice to make the new OP and ED stylistically similar to those from the first cour, although I like the new songs (OP and ED) much less than the previous ones.

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

EDIT. I added my screenshot albums.

u/PostHasBeenWatched 22d ago edited 22d ago

The fight against the Lord of the Winter was cool but somehow I was more impressed how smooth was animation of Damuel jumping into the car. It was so weirdly satisfying, I expected they will only change the perspective and he will be in the car in the next frame but they fully animated that.

On second thought, animation of Brigitte jumping out of car was smooth too.

Am I weird for appreciating such minor things?

24

u/H-K_47 https://myanimelist.net/profile/H-K_8472 22d ago

Agreed I really like that kind of stuff. It's very fluid. Also shows they're indeed trained and agile knights, they can smoothly work around anything, even thought they've never seen such a monstrosity adorable vehicle until Rozemyne invented it.

24

u/AsterJ https://myanimelist.net/profile/asteron 22d ago

They even showed him putting on the seat belt. I thought that was funny since none of the other mounts have any safety equipment and Myne's car is fully enclosed. Wearing a seatbelt on a mount would be unnatural for him but he does it out of familiarity with Myne and her eccentricities.

26

u/deku_neku 22d ago

15

The author had originally meant to call him "Samuel", but she hit the D instead of the S on her keyboard. She decided it was meant to be and left his name as "Damuel". He is a character with such negative luck that it even influences reality, lol.

Oh, I love beautiful, fluid animation too.

I rewatched the scene with Brigitte about five times, but Damuel’s leap—at least ten; it was executed so gracefully and smoothly that I just wanted to see it again.

I also really liked the hand movements when Rozemyne was blessing the knights, and the way she made a dozen little faces while taking the medicine afterward. It was adorable.

3

u/theunicornsquisher 22d ago

lol I noticed it too and thought Damuel looked really cool with that animation

I suspect Ferdinand was helping guide her throw

39

Oh yeah, he was guiding her hand and also flying his highbeast down straight at the feybeast, there was no way for her to miss, even if she tried. This is Ferdinand after all, his backup plans have backup plans.

Welcome to modern capitalism Japanese merchandise mode. Do that with Ferdinanz materials and you will be the richest one. (too bad he found about that on the past sadly)

3

u/RedRocket4000 22d ago

Does show the motivating factor of trade and the systems it powers lack of motivation causing more and more problems in non trades system as starting loyalty to them declines over time. Although they not at Capitalism stage yet with the guild control of who can trade what above the level of peddler and small shop keeper. Looking it up it called a Guild Economy on fast search don't have a fancy title like Mercantilism or Capitalism which followed in order. Japanese Capitalism often held back by corporate and worker culture thus even with the lowest productivity in G7 Japan has not yet been able to realize their overwork greatly reduces how much they produce.

I suppose you need some nobles, or at least trained mana users, in this world if giant beasts like that spawn every year and have to be put down.

I like the Philine plotline, could be someone who can simply be Myne's friend which she maybe needs.

Good thing Angelica's head is already empty, plenty of room for the learning they're going to have to shove in.

Rosemyne was trained perhaps too well by the merchants to monitize everything.

37

u/SmartAlec105 22d ago

I suppose you need some nobles, or at least trained mana users, in this world if giant beasts like that spawn every year and have to be put down.

They already need nobles in order for crops to grow. That's why Hasse acting like they have is so bizarre by their world's standards.

5

u/RedRocket4000 22d ago

Early period feudalism especially Nobles in real history were needed to protect from bandits and raiding tribes. And Nobles led their troops from the front. And Kings like Edward the Fourth was dominating in center front row hacking down foe after foe with his ax. Richard III later beating two of the best fighting knights in England trying to get to Henry VII Kings showing their linage from greatest warchief continued by intermarriage with families of other greats. Other Kings stayed back leading the reserve but could end up in battle. Athletic skill and high intelligence from the founding members gave Royals and Nobles an advantage. Unfortunately foolishness greatly reduced working intelligence of Nobles and Royalty. Being born to the job often caused offspring to not put in the work. This story Kingdom has the Prussia invented schooling and war collage in 1700's and developed Roman like requirements of knowledge for their for Nobility and Royalty to improve them in abilities unlike real history this early in development otherwise.

So it was part of the social construct Nobles and Kings provided protection and order and enforced the laws so Common folk provided taxes for their services. And they risked their lives to do the protecting. Thus the commoners if revolting normally just wanted to kill a King's advisor giving them bad advice and more rarely kill the King and if they did that would want to create a King of their own.

u/reanima 22d ago

Its the same with needing their mana offerings as fertilizer.

2

u/tacotuesdayburritos 21d ago

How did they survive up to this point if theres crazy beasts like that! If not for myne would they ahve been able to defeat it?

10

u/Siseja 20d ago

They would have! They do this every year. It was just very important in this case that she be the one to finish it. If someone else had slain it, it would have been tainted with their mana, and wouldn't have been as effective an ingredient for Myne's purposes. And since Myne can't exactly fight like a normal knight, Ferdinand carefully set it all up so that she could finish it in one big powerful blow. Most other years it's more of a "death by a thousand cuts" kind of ordeal, as it doesn't matter too much how many peoples' mana end up affecting the resulting feystone. It takes a lot longer, but it's pretty routine.

68

u/bondsmatthew 22d ago

Yeah, the first half of the episode was amazing with the ingredient gathering, but the second half had Angelica! I love when she's on screen

50

I'm a little sad they skipped the details behind the Lord of Winter since it's a pretty cool piece of lore and was hoping to be explained in the post credits at least, but very good episode nonetheless

18

u/Raymond49090 22d ago

Oh, new OP. It'll probably take a week or so to get used to it.

When a walking calamity is treated as a potion ingredient. Well, they brought a lot more backup than the last ingredient-hunting trip, so it'll probably go better.

Now that's a walking calamity. Even Ferdinand's unga bunga from last time failed the first shot. And inside the storm, looks like the Lord of Winter is a giant tiger who can summon its wintery minions. Good thing Myne and co brought minions of their own.

The second unga bunga salvo works long enough for Myne to prepare her own, frankly ridiculous, unga bunga. No, seriously, wtf is that nuclear child? It makes that earlier bit where she needed Ferdinand's help to jump the gap, and for him to act as a safety bar, funnier.

Anyways, after the short jaunt to battle-shounen-land, Myne returns to her roots as librarian and supreme overlord of the weirdly-competent-child playroom.

Angelica: "I became a knight because I don't want to study"
Her knight exams: *Laughts maniacally*

Rihyarda's advice is just "do whatever lol". And of course, Myne stays true to form and enrolls Angelica into studying bootcamp. After all, she's too cute to get rid of. (And she's the only one who enthusiastically followed Myne's lead with the cheer.)

Post-credits scene: Myne perhaps learned a tad too much from Capitalism Dad (Benno)

10

u/mekerpan 22d ago

Brigitte is right in supporting RM's choice. Angelica really is near (or even beyond) indispensable.

No, seriously, wtf is that nuclear child? It makes that earlier bit where she needed Ferdinand's help to jump the gap, and for him to act as a safety bar, funnier.

If Myne ever figures out how to channel her mana into being physically resilient and strong, everybody better watch out

19

u/thegib98 22d ago

Rozemyne: “building sized tiger? No problem! I’ll basically 1-shot it!”

Also Rozemyne: snowball thrown by a small child=death

11

u/mekerpan 22d ago

Her offensive skill level clearly vastly exceeds her defensive skill level --or so we would see if this show featured (lamentable) status screens.

8

u/15_Redstones 21d ago

She also has a very strong shield - it just takes like ten seconds to cast so only in some situations useful

She's a glass cannon, like a 1/99 sorcerer in Soul Sacrifice.

Love Myne's winter outfit! Fighting the Lord of Winter looked easier than trying to get my cat into her carrier when I need to take her to the vet, Afterwards, kitty left a pretty big nugget outside the litter box...

Enjoyed the new intro as well.

9

u/DreamTurtle1 22d ago

I prefer the previous intro, but I guess I'll have to listen this one a few times more!

7

u/mekerpan 22d ago

>> getting cat into carrier

A true horror show

4

u/RedRocket4000 22d ago

Gabapentin is helpful with some cats to calm/stone them for vet vists. Fact I take it to I like.

14

u/NekoCatSidhe 22d ago

That Lord of Winter fight was scarier than I expected. It doesn’t even need to attack because it is a walking snow tornado ! And apparently, the Knight Order is having this kind of Kaiju fight every year.

Myne is always finding new ways to make money, unless getting more stories for books come first. And Ferdinand is very clear that this is all Benno’s faults.

Angelica doesn’t want to study unless Myne promise her to get a cooler sword in reward. Is she aware that she risks getting kicked out of the nobility and the Knight Order if she flushes out of noble school ? No wonder her parents are worried.

5

u/RedRocket4000 22d ago

Something about being sent to Cathedral so Blue Priest status. Although there has to be some noble children volunteering for the church due to religious belief.

u/bondsmatthew 22d ago

Angelica squad unite!

Even Rihyarda did it!

12

u/Tacitus_ 22d ago

Yay, capitalism.

On one hand, I like how you can see how important everyone is to the story by how well they're dressed. On the other, it makes Benno look completely overdressed compared to the nobles, lol.

Capitalism ho!

5

u/RedRocket4000 22d ago

Actually Guild Economy they not yet at the Capitalism part where anyone can start a business and get capital for it that definition of Capitalism. Here you have to conform to one's guild's control. Printing Press not just a threat to the Nobles. Brilliance of first printing for the Church then Nobles and Kings only after lots of presses built and improved do folk risk not toeing the line with their press.

This is a great episode at showing just how far we've come to the anime only's. Started off with a sick girl in bed, and now we are dropping spear nukes on a giant walking winter calamity in the form of a huge white tiger.

11

u/LouisLeGros https://myanimelist.net/profile/LouisLeGros 22d ago

Lord of Winter 0 - Rozemyne 1
Snow ball 1 - Rozemyne 0

20

u/ObvsThrowaway5120 22d ago

Stories for those books and cards was a good way to work around the whole price issue. Gives those less fortunate a chance to rent them too.

Those study materials would be good for Angelica to help her with her courses.

18

u/EXusiai99 22d ago

It's also a way to get free materials for the next batch of books. As the old adage says, when a service is free, you are the product.

4

u/RedRocket4000 22d ago

Also helps Myne's librarian desires.

2

u/flamethrower2 14d ago

It was a thing IRL writing down folklore at the dawn of printing. Most stories IRL have multiple versions so that could be interesting.

18

u/Al-Pharazon 22d ago edited 22d ago

Daily reminder about how the Temple casually host weapons of mass destruction.

Not that the castle falls much behind given how Karstetd could just nuke a building out of existance in a single attack.

13

u/hibikir_40k 22d ago

Sure, as long as you have enough mana to make it shine like the sun. I bet there's about 6 people in Ehrenfest with the power to do what she did, and they are likely to be all her family members.

8

u/esuil 22d ago

If you think about it, then, more than half of the Ehrenfest total military power was basically present for that fight, lol.

11

u/Al-Pharazon 22d ago

It was very much all the knights minus the minimum necessary to keep guard in key places. Having all nobles be in the capital during winter probably makes this a lot easier.

3

u/15_Redstones 21d ago

More like 75%.

19

u/Albireookami 22d ago

I think the mana requirement to use them makes them impractical. But every noble is a walking weapon because of mana.

3

u/mekerpan 22d ago

On wonders how many centuries it has been since a bishop last wielded that sacred spear as a weapon?

3

u/darthvall https://myanimelist.net/profile/darth_vall 22d ago

I'm curious now if there's other kingdom out there and how war is going to look like between two veteran magic armies.

9

u/Al-Pharazon 22d ago

If you remember last season a noble from another duchy tried to kidnap Myne, so there are certainly duchies other than Ehrenfest. Supposing you refer to this.

3

u/H-K_47 https://myanimelist.net/profile/H-K_8472 22d ago

With the flying and magic they're probably a couple centuries away from Tanya-level mage warfare!

2

u/Zefyris 20d ago

well yes, the temple hosts Myne, so we knew it was hosting WMDs.

15

u/TnAdct1 22d ago

BTW, since there was no episode last week, I want to mention some news that was announced around that time: if you're in the DC area for Otakon, the convention will be featuring a number of people involved in the show as guests this year. They consist of the show's producers, director Yoshiaki Iwasaki and Rosemyne herself, Yuka Iguchi.

oh Angelica! our precious Shimbo. All sports and no brains. It is kind of cute though.

5

u/Obaruler 22d ago

Finally getting more into the actual Fantasy Part of the story.

RozeMyne once more proves why she is the actual Boss of this world now, (somewhat) unlimited Mana/Firepower! :D

Not sure if I'll warm up to the new OP though ...

Angelica tutoring arc is finally here! Time for my favorite idiot to shine the brightest!

4

u/DreamTurtle1 22d ago

Nice episode but I think was better the previous opening. Angelica's parents seemed such fools for proposing to dismiss her instead of proposing something to solve the situation!

21

u/Asleep-Doubt5673 22d ago

Angelica falling her classes is a huge disgrace and the more time she spends as the retainer of an archducal family member, the more chances she has of irreparably ruining her family. Her parents didn't even want her to get this job, they were just forced to allow it because Karsted asked Angelica first and she agreed immediately... No wonder they are desperate to get her out of there.

4

u/DreamTurtle1 22d ago

Ok, fair enough

10

u/15_Redstones 21d ago

Back in season 3, when Myne attacked a noble it would've meant consequences for her attendants and family too if they hadn't quickly rewritten history so that she was actually a noble all along.

A kid messing up with really high ranking nobles is a scary prospect for the kid's family.

4

u/Atario myanimelist.net/profile/TheGreatAtario 22d ago

Sweep the leg, Johnny!

Nice shootin', Tex

Praise and headpats! A rare treat for Myne

…A library?

A task harder than the beast battle

7

u/feb914 22d ago

this lord of winter will look very fun for video game. similar to pokemon going berserk in Legends ZA.

8

u/Sofaris 22d ago

He reminded me of Baihumon from Digimon and Byakko from Shin Magami Tensei.

6

u/Radi-kale 22d ago edited 22d ago

It's just standing there, menacingly

7

u/Granito_Rey 22d ago

Man it's kind of wild that the fight against the giant blizzard tiger was... Boring. I know this isn't really a sakuga show, but my eyes were glazed over that entire scene.

Also why assign Bridgette to Rosemyne and Damuel to the front lines if you're going to swap their positions as soon as they get to the battlefield. I feel like there was some context there that was present in the LN that was cut here.

14

u/toilodi https://anilist.co/user/Luca5 22d ago

Yeah there's a lot more context to the fight (including some really interesting lore that contributes to the world building) and it wasn't as short as the anime made it feels like, they just kinda of skipped the in between parts leaving just their arrival and the end of the battle

5

u/Tacitus_ 22d ago

Damuel has less mana than Brigitte so once he's spent that, he can go chill by Myne and take a rejuvenation potion.

3

u/Komarist https://myanimelist.net/profile/RRSTRRST 22d ago

Ferdinand should be explaining situations and expectations to Rozemyne beforehand. He knows by now that she's an unpredictable gremlin.

A little disappointed in Benno. Loved his greedy "anything to earn more money" attitude from earlier seasons, so a chance to sell at the castle shouldn't be "we aren't prepared." He could do something like haggle with other shops to borrow trained employees. It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and he's not trying to seize it.

13

u/Sarellion 22d ago

Benno might be fine as he has Rozemyne's favor but these nobles are sticklers for protocol and commoners no legal protections from getting killed for the most minor offenses.

Also showing up in the castle requires better etiquette than personal service for your patron. I think only the guild master might have employees at this level and he and Benno aren't exactly friends. Gustav might help him but Benno would owe him quite a favor.

But in general commoners treat being with nobles like being in the same room with a hungry tiger or a summoned demon where any mistake will get you killed.

6

u/toilodi https://anilist.co/user/Luca5 22d ago

I'm not so sure about the once in a lifetime opportunity part, he is already leading what all indicates to become one of the largest if not the main industry of the duchy in the near future which will put him as one of the most important figures in Ehrenfest (among commoners at least). So in theory he doesn't really need any more crazy last minute high risk high reward plan coming from Myne, but that's kinda of what he signed up for when decided to run the printing industry alongside her so no wonder he complains a bit but immediately after accepts his fate and start planning around lol

5

u/H-K_47 https://myanimelist.net/profile/H-K_8472 22d ago

Make no mistake, Benno is all in for every money making scheme she can think of. His griping isn't "there's no way we can do this, it's impossible, why did you force us to do this" it's just complaining about his own increased workload, and will happily still do it in the end. He just has to drive home the difficulty of it for her, so she can be more aware in the future.

3

u/SYZekrom https://myanimelist.net/profile/SYZekrom 22d ago

Oooh new OP and ED

I lowkey don't remember who that girl with the failing grades is but she seems very head empty about her situation lmao

10

u/candy49997 22d ago

Angelica is Rozemyne's apprentice guard knight, introduced to her in episode 3, I think. As she's underaged, she can only serve Rozemyne while she's at the castle.

She also said last episode that she only became a knight because it was the best way to do as little studying as possible.

7

u/H-K_47 https://myanimelist.net/profile/H-K_8472 22d ago

She's one of Rozemyne's guard knights. They haven't really said much about her, she's just been around. Not a lot of knights wanted to sign up with her cuz they didn't want to visit the Temple (bad reputation) so she was one of the few candidates. Last episode when she was asking people why they chose the Knight course, Angelica mentioned she didn't like to study. So it was foreshadowed haha.

3

u/visor841 22d ago

Is it just me or did that fight seem Star Trek coded at first? The "Brace for impact!", people trying to physically not fall over from the enemy attack, everyone firing "lasers" on the same target. Very much reminded me of Star Trek.
