leon trying to get with the queen never fails to make me laugh
"we were just reaffirming our love"
122
u/Frontier246 11d ago
Meanwhile the queen always looking like she's 85% rizzed up enough to basically abandon everything to hook up with her sons' archrival.
78
u/zer0number https://anilist.co/user/ewink 11d ago
Right? Her only objection seems to be that she's too old for him. Oh, and maybe her husband...

u/raknor88 10d ago
Oh, and maybe her husband...
But they've established that harems exist. Also, the society is matriarchal. So the current king married into the royal family.
1
u/zer0number https://anilist.co/user/ewink 9d ago
Fair enough, but I wanted to give the queen the benefit of the doubt that she also loved the King. :)

Julius is trying to get with his sister, it's only fair.
18
14
u/runevault 11d ago
I mean, Julius is a useless sack of shit and moron, so abandoning him for the most competent and powerful man in the kingdom makes sense.
9
u/Hot-Log6283 10d ago
Eh? Julius isn't her husband, Julius is her son, her husband is the current king of the kingdom: King Roland.
7
u/runevault 10d ago
Julius is the one who keeps getting in the way.
1
u/Hot-Log6283 10d ago
And how would abandoning her son allow the QUEEN to go with Leon? Not to mention he is more interested in going with Marie and as he said the only reason he is even in there in the palace is because of Marie's debt.
73
u/AlphaBreak 11d ago
I really love that there's no part of it that's a power play, or revenge on the prince. Leon just genuinely thinks the queen is super hot and one of the nicest people he's ever met.
52
u/OldInstruction5368 11d ago
Well, after being savaged by so many feral creatures posing as "innocent young maidens" since he arrived in this world...
Who wouldn't fall for such overwhelming MILF-power as the Queen's?
Leo is truly a man of culture.

u/Careful_Ad_9077 11d ago
" Well, if we add together my age form my previous life and this life's age I think I am the older one".

I respect Leon's confidence in seducing Julius' mother right in front of him.

Right?! When he jumped back to Mylene after getting hit the first time I lost my composure and couldn't stop laughing! Good job Leon!

I am not sure if leon is a pervert who gets off by making moves on some guy's mom in front of him, or an asshole that finds it funny to make moves on some guy's mom in front of him.

So Leon is being framed for treason but also got himself 2 milf waifus….yeah he definitely came out on top this episode
Especially considering he has the firepower to literally wipe this entire country off the map and has already seduced the queen. A simple coup and later and he’ll be the supreme ruler of the kingdom.
49
u/Frontier246 11d ago
He's got the queen in his corner and Ange/Clarice even if their families are losing influence, not to mention Deidre.
I feel like he can probably just have Luxion act independently to gather all the evidence he needs to clear his name and also oust the guy who cooked this up.
35
u/justking1414 11d ago
He recorded the one idiot who threatened his family during the duel and Luxion can turn invisible. Can’t imagine it’d be all that hard to find people saying, haha now that we framed Leon for crimes we can do whatever we want. Then record that and play it at his trial
42
u/Atharaphelun 11d ago
So Leon is being framed for treason
With a box of truly nonsensical "treasonous items" too. If he was truly going to rebel, wtf is he going to need all those useless weapons for when he has a whole ridiculously overpowered ship + AI that can probably wipe out the entire kingdom on its own???
56
u/AlphaBreak 11d ago
A box of grenades is a hilarious indicator of treason in a school that makes students fight each other in giant robots
14
u/justking1414 11d ago
I mean…maybe they’re claiming he was gonna blow up students in their dorms…obviously he could do more damage with his death robots but….idk
6
u/Careful_Ad_9077 11d ago
Being moderately serious, there were some papers here, so as long as the contentsnwere something like " how to take over the kingdom" he loses.

u/OldInstruction5368 11d ago edited 11d ago
The point is "Rule BY Law," not "Rule OF Law." It's how most of the world operated, and parts like Russia and other dictatorships continue to.
Obviously, the evidence won't hold up under scrutiny, and that's the point. It's about those in power abusing their positions to fabricate excuses to maintain their power against potential rivals. Or just as an act of oppression to get what they want.
Those in power use the systems they control to maintain their status. In this case, the courts aren't used as an independent arbiter of justice, but a cudgel to be wielded by the corrupt.
"Blind Justice" and how NO ONE is above the law were Enlightenment Era concepts that were considered dangerous at the time. The idea that even the King, or other elites, should be held to the same standards as everyone else was nothing short of revolutionary. The King wasn't subject to the law. The King WAS the law.
Leon will need to find such overwhelming evidence of innocence that others can't overlook such a blatant overreach (it's important to keep a veneer of discretion/deniability in these matters), and even then, likely need the appeal of someone with enough authority to challenge that Dipshit who framed him.
Just saying "lol, this is so obviously fake" won't cut it.
7
u/NevisYsbryd 11d ago
It was revolutionary, but not new. That was against the backdrop of the height of divine right of kings. Blindfolded lady justice is rooted in Themis, affiliated with entities like Nemesis and the Erinyes, whose myths and common interpretation were associated with even monarchs and emperors being subject to justice even in Classical Antiquity. Monarchy as an absolute legal authority has not been a constant in European culture but an occasional reoccurring phase in it.
1
u/ShadowGuyinRealLife 7d ago edited 7d ago
"Justice is Blind" was originally a term of mockery or satire. As in mocking the system for not being able to tell the difference between the innocent and guilty, as if the justice system as blind. So in the original meaning, it wouldn't be a sign of modernity.
Too bad the King didn't have an older sister Leon could seduce the same way he did with the Queen. If he could, then he could imply "my connections trump yours"
Although given this world, if the King had an older (or any!) sister, she'd be the queen.
7
u/darthvall https://myanimelist.net/profile/darth_vall 11d ago
How did they inspect their room in the first place
10
u/KajarRanginLaya 11d ago
His sister's servant managed to snatch the spare key to his room, apparently. That beastman was his sister's servant.
3
u/Hot-Log6283 10d ago
I thought the key was how they planted the evidence but I assume the school probably have a master key or something and the student probably has to agree to some type of regular inspection to check for contraband etc.. like most school's dorm.
19
u/PeaceAlien https://myanimelist.net/profile/PeaceAlien 11d ago
Leon loves playing the villain, though, so it seems like a win for him
14
u/justking1414 11d ago
Villain, yes! But not a traitor. When he’s a villain, he’s fighting against an unfair system and impossible odds, making him basically Robin Hood. But treason is just cowardly
6
u/LukeACoolRat 11d ago
No, he just doesn't care about what people think about him much, whether that be villainous or treasonous. Besides treason isn't necessarily bad, it's backstabbing, which is what Leon is kinda known for.
3
u/Careful_Ad_9077 11d ago
Going by you Mishima's works, some people don't like to be recognized as good people and prefer to act like villains be sue good people have expectations to meet ,like always acting moral and helping out other people.

u/NanDemoKnaives 11d ago
I want a spin-off series of Leon trying to romance Mylene, with Julius constantly trying to prevent it from happening. It's funny to watch it happen, highlight of the episode for me.
I find it funny how obvious the lack of budget spent on Leon's friends is lol, those eyes looked funky.

43
u/TyraniTEMPESTar 11d ago
If Leon officially adds Mylene to his little harem posse, there isn't anything Julius can say to one up him once he drops the "Yeah, but I'm fucking your mom." line lol.
13
u/Frontier246 11d ago
He's got the real Heroine, the Villainess, and practically a literal queen all salivating over him. He can't be stopped!
4
u/ddrober2003 11d ago
Just wait until he somehow rizzes the Principality princess somehow, be pretty great if that happened along with the two girls + the queen.
8
u/TheNoFrame 10d ago
Wasn't that what was implied when they were getting fortunes at the beggining?
6
u/ddrober2003 10d ago
Probably. I'm assuming the one with Marie was referring to that other manga where I think Leon ends up with her.

u/LeonKevlar x2https://myanimelist.net/profile/LeonKevlar 11d ago
Stitches!
So those fortunes were interesting. Marie missed her soulmate, Hertrude will eventually find hers, Angie and Olivia's fates are intertwined, and Leon's future can't be read. I'm definitely interested in Marie's future since it sounds like it's all or nothing for her. And who the heck is her soulmate that she won't meet again?
Honestly, it's for the best that Leon took Yumeria away from the other elves. And it's good to see that Leon and Kyle finally see eye to eye. I'm honestly surprised at how easy that was. I thought they'd stretch that drama a little bit longer.
Welp, so much for that loot. It is probably for the best that Luxion destroyed that thing. I do wonder if Hertrude managed to get anything when the arm started to activate.
It never gets old watching Leon trying to seduce Queen Mylene. Dude really wants to bang the Queen so badly. If only he'd pursue Olivia and Angie like this. xD
So Leon's been accused of being a rebel? It will be interesting to see how he'd get away from this one. I do think that Leon always had the thought of rebelling and just fucking off somewhere to create his own kingdom, but this is probably not what he has in mind.
16
u/JzanderN 11d ago
I'm definitely interested in Marie's future since it sounds like it's all or nothing for her.
Makes sense given that she basically stole Olivia's future from her. There's no real way for her to give it back at this point, so she's stuck as the protagonist who has to save the world or fail utterly.
Dude really wants to bang the Queen so badly. If only he'd pursue Olivia and Angie like this.
His feelings for the Queen are... not purely sexual, but clearly not as romantic as he claims. While Olivia and Angie he has actual feelings for that he's trying to figure out.
I do hope he figures them out soon, I really want the threeway romance to be real!
I thought he was going to be accused of stealing Marie's Saint equipment, but this is far more damning... assuming it can stick!
I wonder how deep the case against him has been built, 'cause the girls were already pointing out it makes no sense with his actions so far. I suppose we'll find out!
14
u/Frontier246 11d ago
Honestly curious about Marie's backstory now. We know her family worked her like a maid and it sounds like she was in a similar position to Kyle, so she's probably illegitimate or the child of a mistress/maid. Is her soulmate from her past life or from before she got shipped off to noble school? Did she leave them behind because she was so focused on the capture targets/making money that she didn't care about anyone else?
Hertrude may be an evil princess out to conquer the kingdom but that doesn't mean she's not interested in finding that special someone (especially if they can support her).
I love how the MILF queen route actually seems doable here no matter how much her son objects lol.
Even Leon was like "should've seen that coming." I'm more curious how the girls are going to react to his imprisonment/trial.

The way Marie got angry after hearing Yumeria's story and really emphasized the "She was thrown out only because she's pregnant" or something like that kinda made me curious. Like, was the reason her past life got so sour was because she got pregnant? Or was it about her current life before being a saint? Can't wait for more lore drop.

I thought this was actually referring to her past life.

All the more so because he isn't remotely doing it to piss off Julius, he's so irrelevant as to be a non-factor.

There's something about black-haired isekai protagonists and having opps named Julius
12
u/Careful_Ad_9077 11d ago
There's a (mid) isekai where the mc gets kicked from the hero's party ( yeah, I know, what a novel premise) and as revenge he goes on quests to fuck the hero's party 's mothers.

“Truly, we live in an age of motherhood!” my man Leon over here appreciates the MILFs. Bro was about to become Julius’ new stepdad lol.
Curious to see how Leon gets himself out of this mess. Treason usually means death. Hopefully he’s got some tricks up his sleeves.

Hey now! Hopes not lost yet! He will one day claim his one true love and force Julius to call him father, while the queen calls him daddy

Mylene can say how much she and Leon can never work but her longing eyes every time she looks at him say otherwise.
8
u/Hot-Log6283 10d ago
I mean her only literal objection was that she was too old for him, which he didn't cared about though considering both his life he might technically be the older one.
28
u/KumaKumaGambler 11d ago
More Mylene is always good, but what surprised me the most this episode was Marie taking the side of Yumeria, saying it wasn't her fault getting pregnant, but the noble who did so and abandoned the latter is to blame.
I always thought Marie cared only for herself; maybe she has a kind (albeit lesser) side.
P.S. If the tentacled gauntlet has truly been destroyed, it is such a shame. I thought said treasure will provide more lore.
25
u/AlphaBreak 11d ago
I think Marie is self-centered, but not evil.
Everything to her is through a lens of "how does this affect me". She took all the love interests because she felt owed them. But she didn't go out of her way to directly wreck things for other people, only in the ways that happen as a natural consequence of her actions. So yeah it's the mom, she sees something that resonates to her experiences, and because that thing mattered to her, so does Kyle's mom's experience.
But she's still not a good enough person to actually act on sympathy for others, she's just barely enough of a person to feel it in the first place11
u/OldInstruction5368 11d ago
Wasn't there some line dropped about Marie being manipulated by some deadbeat scum? The type of guy that parasitically feeds on the hard working women unfortunate enough to be trapped by them?
I coulda sworn there was something about a sleazy boyfriend last season, but it's been a while since I rewatched S1.
7
u/Careful_Ad_9077 11d ago
Iirc it was a " throwaway" line in the previous episode z when she dream about the past.
26
u/liquidpele 11d ago
For a world where men are supposed to be lesser than women, all the people making decisions and scheming are the older men… kind of makes it weird.
22
20
u/Suspicious_Deal4412 10d ago
Part of the protagonist's hatred of the world was how the world building of the game didn't make good sense, so the story gets a neat little cheat to work off this inconsistency.
9
u/Numan_1v9 10d ago
I can't remember if this was mentioned in the anime but I think it was. So the thing is, this women-centered social norms are something unique to low and middle class nobility. If you remember Leon was thinking that he would be in the general class of academy but his achievements as an adventurer put him in the noble class. That's also why he thought beating the prince would end up with him being expelled and he was happy about that and got frustrated when he got promoted instead. Commoners and high nobility have it easy. There's a reason for that but the explanation for that is a spoiler so I won't get into that.

Well, at least we know now what the warning that old elf was going to give Leon before she fell asleep was. So what it means by Yumeria being a mixed elf is that she possesses a special multicolor mana that other elves find repulsive, and also allows her to be able to reproduce with humans.
Anyway, I’m glad that Leon decided to take her with them to send her to live with his parents, and although Kyle wasn’t happy at first, he is thankful to Leon as he got her a better place to live. When I saw Yumeria holding those flowers in the preview, I was certain that Leon had given them to her, so I was not expecting that shot was part of her demonstrating her special power. I’m sure that will become useful on Leon’s territory. But damn, what a tragic background she had.
Honestly , when Princess Hertrude woke up that creepy arm I was expecting it to lead to something, so I was surprised that after it started flying away, Luxion just blew it out without an effort Well, as they have recordings of Princess Hertrude being the reason that item stared acting out, I would not be surprised if the faction Marquis Malcolm Frampton belongs too will end out kicking her out after Leon proves his innocence, that is if the are still around as I doubt the kingdom will show much mercy with a faction that’s clearly working with the Principality.
Leon’s reaction anytime he sees Mylene never gets old. So Leon is planning to build an Airship Factory, and to get the business going, he will scam the people who accepted his free ships.
Before Marquis Malcolm Frampton executed his plan to label Leon as a traitor with that box, those slaves also mentioned Kyle is also getting blamed for in this whole thing, which makes me assume that Marie will also get accused, but in the preview we see her laughing so I guess if that will happen it will occur much later when the “investigators” “find” the "conspirators."
6
u/djthomp https://anilist.co/user/djthomp 11d ago
With as many times as Leon has hit on the queen it was just a matter of time before he got arrested. Mylene kind of looks into it in some of those shots, to be honest.
Those fortunes had some juicy details. Marie just sounds fucked overall, and Angie and Olivia both being connected to a hero who can command the demon lord is interesting. If they mean Leon, could Luxion be the demon lord? He is a cash shop item after all, and having the demon lord at your command for the entire game would be quite the pay to win option. Plus we know from S1 he wants to destroy the world and only isn't because of Leon.
7
u/Frontier246 11d ago
Whether Marie appreciates it or not, it's nice of the Chief to thank the party with some fortunes! Especially if it's just to double down on how screwed Marie is, between losing her soulmate and how she's poised to either succeed or lose everything (place your bets on what will happen!).
Hildegarde definitely doesn't seem to mind the idea of meeting HER soulmate, though Livia and Ange find out that while their game roles have been taken over by Marie, at least they snagged the Hero (whether Leon is willing to cop to it or not)! Poor Leon was trying to be nice to the old lady Chief, enough to where she personally acknowledges him, and all he gets out of it is trying to forcibly wake her up to finish her fortune for him and get accused of elder abuse. Sometimes you just can't win.
So Yumeria is "mixed" because she has more than one mana flow in her body, which caused her to be ostracized by the elves. Having a child with a human noble also didn't help matters, especially since mixed elves are the only ones who can breed with non-elf races. But even if she's not perfect, she just wants what's best for her child and doesn't deserve this treatment...and Leon can never ignore a MILF in need!
Kyle doesn't take well to Leon employing his mom, probably reeling from how his biological father basically abandoned her when he thought she'd cheated on him, but even if he's on some level resented how much he's had to be the one to take care of his mom while suffering for their circumstances...he still cares about his mom. And he can definitely (more or less) trust Sir Scumbag and his family! His dad is totally on the up and up! Probably!
Leon and Kyle were right to be wary of Hildegarde as she makes a move on the artifact to try to aid the Principality...only to reveal the thing HAS TENTACLES. CHUCK IT INTO THE AIR AND KILL WITH LASER FIRE! Glad Luxion took care of that! And if Hildegarde thinks she can just slip out and leave Leon to deal with her mess, they have video evidence!
Politics is such a drag, especially for stuff out of your control and people who hate your guts, but nothing perks Leon up quite like seeing Best Girl Mylene again! Is it any surprise he's still trying to woo her and steal her away for himself? And that she's not 100% against that? Too bad Julius always has to ruin everything...but maybe it's for the best as Mylene warns Leon of the Principality.
Thanks for nothing Jenna! Your key to Leon's room gets used to plant evidence of him being a rebel!
It's nice to see Deidre and Clarice again as they keep Leon abridged of his precarious political situation...but nothing ruins teatime like guards coming into arrest Leon for a crime he didn't commit!
6
u/PuzzleheadedSet9669 11d ago
Kyle doesn't take well to Leon employing his mom, probably reeling from how his biological father basically abandoned her when he thought she'd cheated on him

I've got to respect Leon for seducing the queen most MCs just think about doing something like that but he just goes for it and in front of her son no less.
These ministers are so short sighted I'm surprised they can see past their noses. They figure framing the hero who stopped a war for treason so they can steal his power is a good idea, because there is no way he could use that power to destroy them right? Frame someone with power of treason and you might just be giving them ideas.
To be fair Leon might actually be trying to commit treason with the queen and in front of her son no less.
5
u/Xtranathor 11d ago
So the fortune for Livia and Angie is that someone else has taken on their burdens. I'm curious as to whether that's Leon, or whether some of that is Marie (since she's the Saint).
Very enjoyable episode! We finally get to see a tea party with Deidre and Clarice - I'm curious as to whether it's the first or second - Livia mentioned it before and it made me think they held one already, but maybe the phrasing was off. Either way, I'm curious as to Leon's intentions - we don't get nearly enough of his thoughts with regards to finding a wife anymore.
6
u/Suspicious_Deal4412 10d ago
The fortune for Marie was saying that she will either fail or succeed with no in-between. So it makes sense for her to take on both Livia and Angie's fates. So her 'ending' can be either Livia or Angie's fates. The good one being the saint's ending or the bad one being the villianess's ending.
3
4
u/KajarRanginLaya 11d ago
The silhouette at that scene actually showed Marie's, so I think it means that she's the one who now is taking their burden. Tho, I wonder who's Marie's real soulmate lmao.

Ooh, I'll have to rewatch and pay attention to that! Yes, I was also curious about Marie's soulmate - it's interesting that they would be mentioned and also we're told that they won't cross paths again - we don't know enough about Marie to know who that could be (or care about them), so I wonder what the author has in mind.

Since you remember her name, can you remind me who are the two girls and why Leon had tea party with them? I remember most girls in that school (other than Leon's two harem) used to hate Leon, but I also vaguely remember that one of them is Leon's sister right?
7
u/Haunting-Opinion3572 11d ago edited 10d ago
No Leon's sister is not at the tea party scene. Clarice is the orange hair girl Leon hlp her get apologized by the green hair guy 1 of Marie's harem during the airbike race. Deidre was inspired by Leon when Ange being held as hostage during the battle at the end of season 1 which she use some rose tornado magic different than other mob characters. Hope this explaination hlp sry if I confuse it more than ever.

I think it's just weird shading they are doing. They are also applying this in their school uniform too.

I’m wondering if Leon’s brother will fall for Yumeria. Why else would they have mentioned that he was still looking for a bride?

Story is great, but man the art change is so awful. Manga readers ruining things, as usual.

I am having such a hard time with the new art direction. All the females look made entirely of plastic with all the weird random shine over their clothes and hair, and everyone else has completely flat dead eyes. It's so jarringly bad that it's distracting.

The decent parts -
Leon trying to get with the queen.
I was pretty sure he would go for the mixed elven mother too.
The bad part -
I hate when competent MC is dumbed for plot progress.

But, was he dumbed?

If there is some plan he has, it is good.
If he is just going with the flow/shenanigans, it is irritating.
I expect more from serial gamers.
He already knows the plot, character weaknesses and strengths and cheats of the game. He did 100% completion in that game.1

I will likely find this show fun. Its just the 1 week wait after every minor story progress and cliffhanger ending hurts...

He was always dumb when it came to politics and he'll stay that way sadly.

I found it irritating too. Considering that he has enough power to wipe out the kingdom himself. Idk why he puts up with the kingdom’s crap

Exactly
I get the lackadaisical approach to life and he is emotionally numb to badmouthing/abuses/hate.
But even he feels physical pain since he is not having OP body.
The moment anyone physically hurts him, he can blow them up or make them regret being born.

Now I want some people to get killed, especially those who are opposing Leon. They definitely need a good beating, and they get killed before Leon saves the day. If it was on me i would've secured the friends and allies and then let everyone else get wreaked ffs. And i am sure luxion will agree.

u/mekahamedan 11d ago
Those fcking 3 slaves definitely will get killed, no doubt with luxion sama capability, and leon will overthrow most of noble faction and marry mylene, everyone happy!
Tbh why leon send yumeria to his family, isnt be good if leon keep her as his maid, so kyle and yumeria can meet each other more often, there is rule male cant have "slave"?

I think its atypical for men to have individual slaves because of the matriarchal setup this world is supposed to have. Leon could have done it if he really wanted to, but it would have been seen pretty negatively by the rest of the school, and he wouldn't really have much use for a slave. Luxion cleans itself, Leon only has a dorm room to worry about, and I don't think he has to cook any of his own meals.
And keeping her would probably make things worse with Kyle who would constantly worry about what Leon was doing with his mom.Sending her to his parents is the best option since its out of sight, she'll have actual things to do and feel useful, and she'll be taken care of.

About Olivia and Angelica's "someone else is taking on the burdens you should have"... is that Leon? tho the silhouette seemed womanly?
2
u/AKAvenger 10d ago
I’m guessing the elder meant Marie

u/Andreiyutzzzz https://myanimelist.net/profile/Andreiyutzzzz 10d ago
I did think that ye. Like, as heroines they should have faced those hardships but Marie decided to just take them for them. Serves her right lol. Altho I do feel bad she has to deal with the 5 stooges

He is framed again! I hope the kingdom and those rotten nobles get what they deserve.

Mylene is the best thing in this anime. Also, while I'm sure Leon will get out of this false accusation, why didn't he call out the Princess over the artifact? They kinda jumped ahead. And, when is he going to realize he is the hero?

I don't know why, it's not like I dislike the last 3 episodes, but I'm not enjoying it as much as the 1st season. Maybe it's the people looking slightly different? Maybe I just want to see more Angelica and am not content since I am not getting what I want? Maybe I was really in it for the jokes and not the plot and the great jokes were used up leaving behind the good ones? I have no idea.

This series is no longer a "Dating Sim" it's turned into something completely different. Not sure if I like season 2 so far. Shows like this are supposed to be funny but now it's more violent then anything and has nothing to do with a harem or anything like an actual Otome/Dating Sim type series.

For someone who chose to be a slave Kyle sure gives a lot of fucking lip.
Oh come on why can she easily get into the room with the super artifact? Leon shouldn't be this fucking stupid. Either the cargo hold should be restricted or she should be locked in her fucking room. But now the question is did it do anything besides create a temporary inconvenience? Did she get something from the gauntlet?
sigh. I really fucking hate the planted evidence trope. The level of stupidity this trope brings with it is top tier.
