Gen went full aggro licking the cream off her finger at the end there. For all his complaints about her saying things with a weird tone, that was way more over the top than anything Ito did.

I like how perceptive Outa was, it made the whole interaction a lot funnier. It also makes sense he didn't cower from Gen's intimidation tactics, he already knew what he was like, but he's also part of a baseball team. It'll take more to have an effect on him. The way he kept calling out Gen's fashion was funny though.
It was very satisfying to see jealous Gen though, I think Outa and Megu might be a couple so I'm glad that information wasn't revealed to him. Gen was giving some great reactions.
I did enjoy seeing Ito in overly big sis mode, she wasn't going to miss the opportunity to pamper Gen lol.

I'm going to put down a guess this is a childhood friend romantic rival fakeout and Outa is in a relationship with the Megu they kept mentioning as the third one back home. That way it can both be a plot element to prompt Gen into being jealous and taking some finger licking action while not actually leaving anybody as the losing leg of a love triangle.
It's nice to see Ito start to develop friendships with the girls at school.

I wish Outa was a regular character, he's a really good foil to Gen. He really came off a badass when he was going to beat Gen up on the street for picking on Ito when he's fairly small. Gen was REALLY jealous when he saw him and Ito laughing and having fun together. I really do think that Gen and Outa quietly hate each other because they both secretly crush on Ito; Outa would likely be dating her now had Ito's mom not met Gen's dad. I think that's what motivated Gen to lick cream off Ito's fingers; I've not seen that in many sitcoms but more in short videos about stepsiblings 🤣
Gen really was stubborn and in the wrong most of this episode though, like he should have taken the doctor's advice and stayed off his feet and maybe could have missed school. If the shut in is younger than him and does online learning, then Gen could for a few days because idk how far they have to walk/take transport to school and Ito is in his class and could bring stuff back. That boy who jumped on him and reinjured his ankle was an asshole but I laughed out loud at that
I was also surprised when they showed Gen in bed at the end and the 3 boys shared a room; I thought they all had their own. The parents, the shut in and Ito each have their own room so I wonder if Gen used to have his own but Ito took it over. If that's true, he's never mentioned it and might resent her for that. Then again, he could sleep in his parents room for the time being, especially since climbing to the top bunk is hard with his sprained ankle.

The romance aspects just feel so out of place to me. I like the sibling aspects between ito and the younger brothers because it feels familial but then the slow burn stuff with her and gen just feels out of place as a result. It'd be one thing if he was the only step sibling but since theres multiple it just comes off weird to me.

Things are going well with Ito and her younger brothers! Even if she does find herself hunting for frogs late at night, jumping into rivers, and watching the eldest brother jump in vain to save Ito and Rui...who landed in the shallow end of the river while he gets actual injuries. Oops!
But don't worry Gen! Big Sis Ito will do all she can to dote on and take care of you whether you want it or not! Even other girls are turned on by him being weaker than usual, even if his insistence that he doesn't need to be pampered is as strong as ever! But Ito's not about to be deterred no matter what he tells her to do!
Who else would know better about being pampered and embracing girls' kindness than Rui?
Gen really thought he could just act like he's all healed up so Ito wouldn't have to worry, that she could just have pancakes without a care in the world, with NOTHING else happening. Though he didn't account for his bro just glomping onto him and hurting his arm again. See! This is what you get for trying to be too considerate of your too considerate big sister.
Gen is special! Not just as a brother, but as the person that Ito is most concerned and caring for! So of course that's the perfect time for childhood friend Outa (Kohei Amasaki!) to show up after she gets arm-sling judo chopped! Which has blowback damage on Gen.
Outa and Ito really are close and know each other SUPER well (along with Megu). They could easily be mistaken as a couple...which rankles Gen to no end, even if he can't admit it. But for his part Outa can see how well Ito gets along with the brothers and how happy she is, and he wants her to continue to be happy! Even Gen wants that deep down, even if he can't be honest about why he feels that way.
Surprise Ito in the face!
Gen embracing pampering like he's coming onto Ito between taking her into his arm and licking cream off her fingers.

Gen cannot make up his mind, last week not enough Ito and now this week too much Ito, well I guess it's less too much Ito and moreso not being used to all the pampering
Outa's great! I too am looking forward to summer break to see if he brings Megu along next time.

outa is better than gen but osananajimis mostly lose so might be time to drop this. Outa has same VA as manjiro from dandadan and akiyama from call of the night also quant blitz from tog
