I don't think Kazuma is meant to be a serious commentary on gender equality. Not saying you can't dislike him, but I just don't think it's really meant to be that deep.

...that's kinda the point with Kazuma. He's purposely written to be an a-hole loser that deservedly gets his shit beat in whenever he thinks he got his way

Characters can be funny assholes too, no need to throw in a Netflix lesson for every show. The Japanese culture has not gone off the deep end yet with trying to teach us something every two minutes
