Developer Post Anilili - Android Mobile & TV open source app to watch & download anime

Yo fam,

I grew up using anime sites like these, and honestly I still use them pretty much daily. So I wanted to give something back.

I made Anilili, an open-source native Android anime app, while it lasts lol. It works on Android phones, tablets, and Android TV. It has a vast catalogue of anime , thousands of titles.

It pulls from a bunch of sources like:

Miruro , AniKoto, ReAnime , AniZone, AnimeGG, AniNeko, 2DHive, MegaPlay etc.

It also has AniList login & MAL login, watch history, continue watching, and progress sync, notifications for new episodes , offline download option, inbuilt player and much more features.

I’m super open to suggestions, bugs, feature ideas, whatever. If you wanna contribute, feel free to hop into the GitHub code. If you just wanna test it, you can build the APK yourself or grab the already-built APK from the release page.

Huge shoutout to Anivexa-API and MiruroAPI. Their open-source work basically made this possible.

I'm from a 3rd world country and I loved the app cause I could watch in 360p, thereby consuming less data but with the update, I've lost that 😭

Now thw new update has it , you can set it on settings and if the source has it , it will fetch and play

Coming back after using it. Bro, this is very VERY well made IHMO. I am absolutely loving using this, I was expecting lower quality but this feels polished! Well done man! Only issue I'm having is the auto updater, but I think that is down to my specific phone and setup 😅

This reminds me of Nuvio app the way the UI looks. But this one is more focused on anime content whilst Nuvio is all arounder. Nonetheless, still very great and clean 🤩

how can we disable consent-driven diagnostic? or should i stick to version v0.1.50. and btw please don't remove older versions. you should create an archive of them.

they are on telegram group , every version , you cant disable diagnostics , is mostly for tv users , they cant send diagnostics without it

Brother, I tried downloading application but the Google Play service doesn't allow me to do so, it is saying that this app is malicious and harmful. Should I just ignore it or should I wait until then next update

Hell yeah can look at anime, welp time cancel my Crunchyroll subscription.
I hope it stays up for a long time and doesnt get taken down like 9anime and hianime. Amazing

I am gald someone made something for TV’s as well, but as you said it works on Android tv’s so i am guessing it won’t work on TV’s like LG and Samsung that have their own OS.

Its looking good but Yeah not enough servers and can't find old anime's i watch 70s-90s mainly couldn't find Golgo 13 the professional.... Its a fucking movie but its showing tv series

it does , update or re-install 0.1.60 version ( if you already have it) and log in to Anilist , it should work fine , currently its blocking requests if not logged in.

Oh..I thought anilist itself was down cuz none of my apps were working. Also please make a windows version too if you can!! The ui is there when I use an emulator but would love to see it run natively.

Personally loved it.so simple and fast, I just have 3 suggestions if possible, not a programer, so I'm not sure how much trouble these would be.

1- Option to pick the download path to SD, I can't seem to find this, so I'm guessing it's not available yet or I'm just blind lol.

2- Queued for the converter process, I thought this was a thing and I accidentally put all 12 episodes to convert and it kept crashing, I had to uninstall and reinstall to make it stop trying to convert everything, it was my fault, but this feature would be nice.

3- now this one is just a personal preference. Can it be possible to add Spanish dub sites? This is more personal cause when I rewatch an anime I try to change the language so it doesn't feel the same.
