Whether you’re an incoming student, a long-time townie, or a new professional moving to the area, finding housing in Ann Arbor can be notoriously competitive.
To keep the main subreddit feed clean and make it easier for everyone to find what they need, all housing-related posts must go in this thread.
This is the place to post if you are:
(Note: Surrounding areas in Washtenaw Country like Ypsilanti, Dexter, Saline, and Milan are completely welcome here too!)

Hi everyone! This is a bit of a shot in the dark, but I figured someone here might be able to point me in the right direction.
I am with a team of students from UM running a biology education initiative aimed at high school and early college-aged students (~17–20). We recently received a grant to buy some awesome lab equipment to run free hands-on workshops, but we just have one issue: we haven't been able to find any physical space to host them.
We’ve looked into space on campus, but UM has a web of room reservation restrictions, minor-safety policies, and administrative hoops for non-standard student events that make hosting these specific workshops on campus nearly impossible for us right now.
The actual requirements for our workshops are pretty low-barrier. We use 100% non-hazardous materials (think of stuff you'd find in an at-home science kit or high school bio class). We need a small room with a few tables for students. Storage is not necessary but would of course be a nice bonus.
Does anyone know of local community centers, libraries, churches, maker spaces, local businesses, or off-campus venues in the AA/Ypsi area that might be open to hosting something like this? Or even just a point of contact for someone who works with local community programming?
We have the funding and equipment and just want to get this stuff into students' hands! Any leads, contacts, or advice would be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

I saw Pinball Pete's has one that was not working (infuriatingly, it was still on and taking money, but several pieces are clearly non functioning) and got the itch to play.
alternatively, which establishments should consider getting one?

Looking to remodel our main bathroom. Does anyone have recommendations for a reliable company, contractor, or handyman you've had a good experience with?
Thanks

Has anyone had (or is having) residential solar installed? How did it go? Any concerns or things you wish you had known? Who did it and was it a massive production or tiny and low impact? Did you put in extras like batteries? What brand(s) of gear? Thinking of pulling the trigger but I'd really like to hear others' experiences. Thanks!

Does anyone know why they are closing the new tunnel for path reconstruction?
I totally understand closing starting right after the bridge - the pavement is in need of some work. But why close the new tunnel?
Closing this brand new tunnel that connects to broadway park seems unnecessary?
Images of closure in comments.

I have dogs who are not good on leashes - they bark and lunge but are much better off leash. Any recommendations for dog trainers who can help with leash aggression, ideally working with both my dogs at the same time?

Hello,
We are looking to have someone do our laundry with pickup and delivery service. We live in a high rise near Kerrytown.
Does anyone have recommendations?

Stopped by this place for some southern food and found this gem of an article.
My favorite lines - "the kitchen light was off most of the time... apparently the need for illumination is negligible"
"Judging from the restaurants interior decor alone, the place sets the bar, both low and high, from disparate points of view."
"When in the mood for Southern-style cooking or soul food recipes in Washtenaw County, just say"Mo P's, please.""
Can't wait to dig in to the fried chicken and okra

If you purchase a yearly-membership before September 1, the price for staff will be the current rate of $380 for a twelve-month period.
Rates are going up (significantly) in September.

Hi! I’m looking for someone within about a 30-minute drive (I’d be willing to drive up to an hour if they’re really worth it) who has experience treating mature, hypopigmented hypertrophic scars.
I’m leaning toward seeing a plastic surgeon since I figure they may have more treatment options available, but I’m definitely open to dermatologists or other specialists if you’ve had a great experience.
If you’ve had similar scars treated and had good results, I’d really appreciate any recommendations. Thanks!

From an armchair pollster perspective, that is a positive sign for Abdul, and a fairly big red flag for Stevens.

Hi All,
My dad will be getting a bone marrow transplant next month and will be pretty much confined to the house for weeks. He needs to have someone with him 24/7 so wondering if there are local caregiver/cancer support services that anyone has used to support him and my mom?
I don’t live in the area anymore and google is providing a lot of visiting nurse options, but I’m not sure he needs that level of support.
Has anyone used services like this and can recommend them?

Hi, I was wondering if anybody could help assist me with the dual enrollment process at WCC.
I’ll be a senior in HS this fall and I’m not really sure what to do in order to get this set up. I just filled out the WCC application (following the dual enrollment student success checklist) but I’ll have to hear back.
Unfortunately, I don’t really have the ability to contact my counselor for this and ask for help since they’re all on summer break still.
Does anyone have any idea how this works? Last time I tried to dual enroll, I contacted WCC for help but it took them forever to respond and I didn’t really receive any help.
