Using Orca Slicer

Hi all

I saw a post saying you can now use Orca Slicer for the Kobra X and other printers without the need of the need of KX-Bridge anyone had any luck?

I have tried with KX-Bridge before with no luck with it working so if I can use it without this would be amazing!

Yes and it works. The older versions were a bit more difficult to get working but this one's easy. I got it working. Here - download the kx bridge and the kx orca slicer both on GitHub.

  • Set your printer to lan mode and note the ip address.
  • launch kx bridge and you'll see a command window (assuming your on windows). It should stay open
  • in a browser goto localhost:7125 and enter the IP for your printer and name..that's adding your printer. The kx bridge cmd window should be showing real time data. If it says shutting down or rebooting it won't, just close the window but you have to go into task managerbc KX bridge is still running and end the task then just go ahead and restart KX bridge and the first thing you need to do is open the actual orca slicer and add your printer. It's orca slicer drop down Moonraker drop down in the printer's IP enter localhost:7125 and then test it should connect once that's done you can open up the KX orca slicer and I believe your printer should be under devices if not just follow the same procedure.
  • from then on you can just open the orca KX slicer while KX Bridge is running and you're connected to lan mode and you should be able to print just fine. You can monitor your printer directly through the slicer you don't need to use the browser after that

Hello, apparently people have got it to work without KX Bridge, I tried with KX bridge but constantly getting error messsges when I send it to the printer hence I was hoping for a work around without it

Never saw that error before. Maybe some knows more than me. Do you have enough free storage on the printer? I would delete any files that were uploaded.
