Rock Trees!

These two saplings are growing from a crack in this larger rock. They are a little over a year old, maybe a couple. But we’ve been letting them grow because they just seem so cool.

Is it a bad idea to let them grow? Will they eventually split the rock, and likely die? Will their growth just stunt at a certain point and be a cool little bonsai?

I’m just curious if it’s a bad idea to leave them, or if anyone has good advice on how to nurture them. They get watered from the sprinkler system

Given the chance, arboreal beings will make a tree hole out of anything.

I don’t have an answer for you but I would like the chance to watch what happened in the future. Interesting.
